Luke perry was a huge part of 90210 and a huge part of my teen years. Luke was a great man who deserves more than 30seconds when he gave was 30 great years

I was 17 in 1990 and I was instantly HOOKED from the moment it premiered. Being born and raised in California, I was related so much to the sunshine and beaches, living close to the coastline...At 46 today, I still love this show. I miss the 90s. R.I.P. Luke Perry. I was TeamDylan all the way! ❤
What a coincidence so am I I grew up in the 90s as well, Luke Perry was part of my childhood with 91210 and mortal Kombat defenders of the realm.
He passed away five years ago today. I feel this suffocating feeling from knowing that he is not here on this planet anymore.

I’m 14, and decided to watch BH90210 a few months ago, I love him in it. I had watched him before and loved him then, but he did great in the show. RIP to an amazing actor and great person.
I cried. In 1990 when Beverly hills 90210 aired I was 20 yeaes old my mom was still alive. She passed away that year though and watching Beverly hills 90210 helped me cope with her passing.
Beverly hills was way better than Melrose place could ever be

I was 17 and right from the beginning. I was team Brenda and Dylan and I will always will be. Because Brenda and Dylan's relationship and it's foundation was built on friendship, respect, trust and love it was a lot more than just sex. which is all he had in common with Kelly. Honestly I still can't get my head around why the right is tried to force Kelly and Dylan together because it never worked.

I just turned 50 a few months ago. Luke's death hit me hard. Very fitting ending to the first episode of the reboot. It was great to revisit the cast. R.I.P. Luke.

I'm honestly mixed about this tribute, yes it's heartwarming however imo it's not long enough and they shouldn't have left out Shannen Doherty aka Brenda Walsh after all it was Dylan and Brenda way before it was Dylan and Kelly, and to me it'll always be Dylan and Brenda

Gone but never forgotten
Shannen was not going to do the show at all. She changed her mind after Luke passed away. The first episodes were already written, which is why she only had small cameos in them, and did not really join the show until episode 3. They had to write her in after she decided to join very late.
She ended up having their kid in 90210 the remake but they never went anywhere with it

46 yr old mother of 3 who lived through the 902 era, but it never got my attention. But seeing him, as Archie’s Dad gave me reason to feel gutted I missed out on the famous 90’s phenomenon of Aaron Spelling ( even though in those days I was Dynasty through & through )
But, in the world we now inhabit, I enjoyed seeing Luke Perry as an older actor, knowing he existed before, but, I feel he filled a role in Riverdale that no other actor could have performed so effortlessly. RIP Luke. I love how you loved your kids xxxxx

It just makes me really sad. I know none of us are going to live forever but it's hard to see the faces of the people that you grew up with just fade into the nothing. You will never grow old.
I've been dealing with health issues with my own for a long time. I've been faced with my mortality for a long time.
It's sad when you see people like this pass away, but I become envious because I wish I had people like that that would miss me so much. I just don't want to be forgotten.
There was something very special about the relationship between Brandon & Dylan. It was such an unlikely friendship, and yet it was so natural. As a young guy, It really got to me, with their different backgrounds, and their complete opposite ways of life. That was what made this show special. It showed us people can be different, but still understand each other. R.I.P Luke

Just watched it.. 10 out of 10 -- i wassnt sure if id like it.. thought they did an excellent job. Yes they are simply playing heightened versions of themselves but the writting and flow was spot on.. It seemed real.. Believable and authentic..

I'm so glad they didn't do a continuation of the original, it was iconic in its time and should remain there, and I would much rather Dylan McKay be remembered this way as opposed to a scripted scenario that will never feel satisfying. This tribute was perfect, and appropriate for someone who never seemed to want to make a fuss about himself.
Yup continuation wouldn't have ever worked out, who wants to see them only in their rich lives w/o highschool and stuff ... boring storylines guaranted.
TheOne ThatGotAway I mostly agree with you. However if they did a continuation, where they’re kids took the spotlight, and they still had their roles as parents.....I think that could be interesting.

I crew up watching 90210 and it was part of the reason i went to USA as an exchange student in 96’. The first 8 was always my favourites. Of the men the character Dylan (and Luke Perry) was always my favourite too. RIP.

Luke Perry was an integral part of the cast. There can never be anyone to take his spot. He will always be Dylan McKay. One of my favorite episodes of 90210 was when Dylan's mom visits Beverly Hills and he gets in a fight at the pool hall. At one moment he turns to Brandon when Brandon says" Dylan come on man how long can you keep doing this" and Dylan's response was "till i'm numb till i don't know where i'am"haha. That was some dam good acting in that episode, and jason Priestley's best acting was in 2 episodes in season 2, "Uphoria" and " My desperate Valentine" . Dylan and Brandon is the best bromance ever. RIP Luke Perry. Your portrayal of Dylan McKay was heartfelt and passionate. Everyone could relate to Dylan's problems, or mostly everyone.

Omg I've cried a lot during the episode they thought about luke 3 times and this scene made me cry so hard I couldn't breath it was really sad just to seen the car coming I knew it was him and I started to cry. Even if is gone he still their with the cast with us, it's amazing to see him on the show hearing is voice and the line was so beautiful they choose a really great moment.
