Wow! You are reading my mind! I always overpack everything (mostly the makeup and hygiene items). I do wear my heavy items on the planes. Plane temps are 🥶 chilly. P.S.: I am a fan of rubber bands to corral my cords!
I have overpacked for too many years. It's time to be a grownup and pack responsibly! Haha! Nothing really substitutes for your own makeup and skincare but you can choose to do it more minimally so you can stay sane this year. It feels good to be in control and not digging through overstuffed bags.
Yay! I'm subscriber 499 I missed 399 while i slept a few weeks ago, or else that would have been me. 4.99! Get it? Thrifting price! Have a wonderful trip, I will challenge myself someday to take only a backpack. I'm already getting nervous and I don't even have a trip planned.
I was gone 2 weeks in winter in Europe, and while I don't have much silk, I followed Diana's tips as close as I could with my wardrobe. I wore jeans, my bulkiest sweater, boots and coat on our flight and and fit all my clothes, including 2 dressy outfits, and my curling iron (sorry, I have crazy hair than needs smoothing!) In a carry on size suitcase. I had plenty of outfits to mix and match and extra kitten heel dress booties. I took my favorite bamboo 2 piece long PJs and a baboo night shirt, which pack smaller than cotton or flannel. We did laundry once on our 15 day trip and I didn't run out of nice outfits. Thanks for all the great tips, Diana!
I'm impressed! I too will be travelling at Christmas with just one backpack. You're so disciplined! I'd be tempted to find a place to tuck the silver top and 2 silk scarves. Thank you!
I love how you're, like, me. You rock, chica- I never ever "hit that subscribe button" but I hit it for you. I even plan to tell my friend who is also, like, us. Wonders never cease!
Whenever I start to panic about packing, I remember you only really need seven items to travel anywhere. Those are Passport or other ID, credit card, phone with boarding pass downloaded, toothbrush/paste, cash, and one change of clothes. As long as I have those, I'm good to go. I can buy anything I need on the other end, and these items will set me up for a couple of days at least. Once these are set, I calm down and prepare to enjoy the trip.
I loved this. WE are planning a dream winter vacation this year and this is just what I needed. I even have all the clothes already in my wardrobe. Yay.
In May my husband and I travelled in Italy for a week and then went on a week long Mediterranean cruise. I only packed a back pack. It was a Kenneth Cole commuter back pack. My husband thought I would regret it. I did not. Trains and cobblestone streets did not defeat me! I packed using the 5-4-3-2-1 formula and brought four scarves. It was awesome. I was able to tackle everything from walking through the ruins at Pompeii to the cruise formal dinner. In reality, in a pinch I could have bought more clothes but I didn’t need to. Also, it was warm so I didn’t need thick clothes. 😊
I pack one carry on for 6 weeks of travel. Much the same strategy as you used except when packing pants or shirts I stack them fold pant legs over then roll up, takes way less space than rolling items individually
Love this! Can't believe how much you fit into your backpack. I always, always, always pack carry-on only. She who travels light, travels happiest and best!
Diana! Thank you! Your calm, rational approach to packing for your holiday (any) trip was so enjoyable and informative!!! I hope you found space to pack your tinsel sweater!❤
I love packing cubes.Trips home on the weekend I pack each cube with a outfit. I just pull a cube and everything is in it, including undergarments 😊. I just ordered cubes for my boyfriend’s parents who will be wintering in the South this year as Christmas gifts.
OK. Love your tips. I too like to travel light (NEVER check a bag). What do you carry for a purse? and/or to use as a purse at your destination. Knowing Diana, it will be something classy and/or unique.
Lol I wish it was a classier and more unique answer but it's a travel backpack that folds up very small that I can take out at my destination and put my wallet lipstick and sunglasses in. It's black so it's not noticeable but it's not chic at all!
Excellent.... though wish you😢 had talked about your shoes! I have yet to find one pair of shoes that is good for travelling, walking around etc but also suitable for going out! Obviously your shoes must have covered all eventualities?
I'm surprised I didn't mention it but I really only bring hiking boots for snow when I travel at christmas time because i'm usually going to a cold place.
Good packing advice but would take the tinsel sweater instead of dress or take a silk dress and the tinsel sweater. And personally, the yoga shoes would not work for winter for me especially if going outside so would have to wear boots on plane and pack the yoga shoes for inside comfort.
Hi, i'm posting a video today about packing in a backpack that is updated for this year, with a better backpack, and I actually show how to pack it in there. My suggestion in this new video is to bring walking boots that look great with all your outfits and if you need one more pair of shoes, bring a pair of ballet flats for indoor gatherings. It'll be posted in about a half an hour!
I like how you can find the silver lining on anything 😊👍. I'm a pessimist 🤦😔 but have been known to shock my husband with my can do attitude when he least expects it!😳☺️
The expression when you looked at it, looked at the camera, looked at it again, looked at the camera, aaaand the “well what do YOU think it’s the size of?!” CLASSIC!! Sinner 😉

@@unblahyourself If I visit family they say that I could use their shampoo and soaps and stuff like that which I think is reasonable.
Absolutely!!
Yay! I'm subscriber 499

This is all very funny! Thank you for joining us! Welcome to the tribe!
Finding a lot of fruit in this video ❤️✨ Thank you for making it. Love the outfits & humor & that it all fit into a small backpack!!
Glad you liked it!!

You need more silk! Let's go find it! I'm glad this could make your packing a little easier.

Well I think I will stick one small silk scarf in there, but, sighhhhhh, I really don't think the silver sweater will fit once my makeup goes in!
@@unblahyourself You could wear the silver sweater under your plane turtleneck. Would make for a hot flight, but you'd be festive on the other end!
I love how you're, like, me.

Great job, Diana!
Thank you Mireille! ❤
I am going on 4 day trip this month. I am going to use all this information you have given us. Your presentations are delightful.

I agree!
Fantastic!! I love packing small, I knew you would have a video of packing in a backpack. You never disappoint, thank you!
Diana! Thank you! Your calm, rational approach to packing for your holiday (any) trip was so enjoyable and informative!!! I hope you found space to pack your tinsel sweater!❤
Sensible and effective choices, also logical attitude! Should be able to dress appropriately for family holiday events!
You're brilliant! ❤

Packing cubes have changed my life!
Im a devotee of packing cubes , its really helped with my life on the road!
Finding the silver lining? 👍🏻. Why not??!?
Love your ideas. You keep it real. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks so much! 😊 hello from Los Angeles!

That silver top could be worn on trip under bulky sweater you wore.
What about socks? Guess hat and gloves can go into your coat pocket but there’s no way I can cope without socks especially for winter boots

I’ve never owned a Pill Shaver (buying one today).
I can't believe I didn't add that to my list of links! Adding NOW!
What brand are your jeans? So flattering!
Those jeans are very basic. Chaps brand!
Shoes?
