I've always loved Duvall. His technique is deceptively simple because you don't really see it. He uses some of the same schtick in my parts but he's always absolutely natural and believable. In regular parts he can talk with dramatically trained speech. Switch to Western parts you'd swear he was born in Texas along with Tommy Lee Jones. One of the best American actors of all time.
Real Question: "When did you know the camera loved you?" Paul Newman pointed that out that anyone can read lines, but if the camera does not love you it's over." Now that's the truth, and Duvall must really know that. Looks cannot be taught, the rest is necessary but if the camera does not love you, you are done.
Great actor that fact that he thinks Robert E Lee was a wonderful man and he was honored to play him -- and not mention tie to slavery - is very problematic.
So happy to see this! Robert Duvall is one of my favorite actors!
One of my favorite actors.
THE GREATEST AND MOST VERSATILE ACTOR EVER!!!!

I just watched THE JUDGE and he brought tears down my face...

Oh, Bob Dove. I love you.
❤️
I WISHD ID WAS LIKE ROBERT DUVALL SOME DAY
Nice of Bob to be talking up young actors, but he can still act circles around all of them. He's like an old Grandmaster.
they should've let him talk, what terrible questions..

Your existence is problematic. You can’t survive without controversy.
With your dopey reasoning, all biographic portrayals are "problematic." All are flawed and fallen short of the glory of God.
George Washington was a wonderful man. Many actors would be honored to play Washington. Pretty sure he owned slaves....
