    Igor, I did get a sense that meditation was very important to you. As a viewer from the onset of Alone, you have been one of the few who finds value in it. Yes, we were rooting for you. Some home viewers, like myself, look up everyone’s 10 items and what production allows outside of that. We want to get a sense of each participant. We do understand that each site has challenges and some sites tend to work better than others. I do hope you get another shot. You were an inspiration, always smiling, upbeat and you learned so much from your experience. I could tell that those logs for your shelter were big! Glad you did the post show interview with BR! Keep studying your craft, fine tune it. If it’s meant to be, we will see you again! Good luck

      Igor inspired me too - don't overstretch yourself lifting giant logs when ones a quarter of the size would do exactly the same job.

    Igor, I too loved your reverence for the land and life. So sorry we didn't get to see the meditation as a daily practice you synched up with others on. I like that idea and you sharing how the physical and spiritual are so connected. Loved how your best and worst gear may have been the saw. Wonderful interview Woniya, I appreciate you sharing it with us. I watch a few Alone channels and yours is my favorite. 💗

      @@MichaelW969 the timing of the current season won't be influenced by the coming season, it's the same number of episodes as most other seasons. Great interview and as always helps viewers of the show understand some of the decisions and choices contestants make. I still can’t fathom why some participants are super savvy with many of the aspects of wilderness survival science while others, even sometimes experienced woodsman and woodswoman, make so many mistakes that mitigate against winning. While the editing can and does drive a narrative that often highlights ineptness to a degree, with the thousands who apply to be on the show, I just expect more from the contestants some seasons. I hate sounding negative especially as online comments can really hurt those involved, so I suppose I need to mellow out, accept that there is a variety of competencies extant, different spots are a win and loose lottery, and enjoy the show as it is what it is. I also truly think some of the contestants like Igor are interesting people and I’d like to have seen him on the show longer, if that makes sense. And at the end of it all, its not all about the contestant’s skills and aptitudes, as selective editing really drives our perceptions and levels of empathy. That issue rests solely on the producers.

    cool interview. One of the issues I have with the producers is the sociopathic avoidance of showing anything resembling thriving. Not showing folks chowdering down on bunch berries is just one example. What they do not seem to understand is that we (fans) are into the entire experience, not just the endlessly contrived drama that permeates all "reality" shows. It cheapens Alone and denies fans the full viewing pleasure. I love seeing the projects, but hate that the producers are just obsessed with close ups, bad singing, bad poetry, dirty teeth, etc. No dis on participants, we know the field producers harangue y'all to do silly stuffs. Less contrived drama please and more survival tactics and activity. ....and please, no more whining about missing ones kids, wife, GF, BF, Husband, yawn, don't care, don't care, don't care. Sorry nowhere to really vent this stuff but with you, clay and jordan. Keep up the good work W!

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  2 роки тому +2

      I totally agree about the editing and how much better the show would be if they focused on the survival skills instwaf of drama and silly antics! I was horrified that they showed me talking about smoked hair as a fashion statement but not showing me tan hides, harvest willow and weave baskets, etc, on Season 6. I will say though that the isolation and loneliness are very real factors and you never know how I tense it will be for you u til you're out there. I had zero loneliness on Season 6 and massive loneliness on my more recent solo adventure. Until you've been totally isolated and starving for weeks or months, try not to judge folks for the emotions that come through in those situations!

      The “whining” is a big part of the show. To me the psychological aspect of the show is just as important and as interesting as all the survival tactics. It’s called Alone for a reason.

    • @Dystopian63
      @Dystopian63 2 роки тому

      fair and to each their own. clearly i disagree. Besides this obvious affect of loneliness in doing a solo stint has been explored ad infinitum, and honestly with very little new insights past the first couple seasons. I'm generally mot interested in anyones "whining" about anything, particularly the tired and the obvious. I think many participants and fans feel as I do, disappointment in lowest common denominator assemblage by the showrunners. More survival - far less drama.

    why dont contestants make more tools or weapons. Is there rules or guides that prevent this. Ive seen some minor tools made but nothing major, no hammers or clubs, no spears or homemade arrows.

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  2 роки тому +1

      They might be. Remember you are seeing less than 1% of their time out there. I made all kinds of things they never showed in the program, including a club I took on my trap line and sometimes had to use, a digging stick, wedges, sling shot, and much more

      I'm pretty sure I saw a spear made once to fend off a wolf pack that was taking too much interest in a contestant, clubs and modified axes are pretty common as well as traps but I don't think even the best craftsman would mess about with home made arrows as they are too much of a precision instrument to be building in the wilderness and if they don't fly right then you are losing your food!

    He's 6'6" !! He must be used to being as big and strong as a mountain and likely thought a log cabin was totally doable, like no problem for him. He didn't realize what it would feel like to be weak as a kitten. His body just needs so much more food just to get outta bed. Someone that size was not going to build a cabin eating berries.

    • @josephstewart2821
      @josephstewart2821 Рік тому

      It must be hard for a lot of those contestants, they are obviously all very active people and the idea of slowing down and working efficiently must be hard to adjust to but it's critical to survival as everyone I've ever seen that rushes around trying to constantly work ends up burning out and starving.

    So many of These people have no idea how to go about things , look at the time and energy he used to build his redicolous cabin with these huge logs its something only a fool would do , he pissed and moaned about being hungry but done pretty much nothing to help himself out to get food , he failed before he even started because he had no realistic plan to feed himself and build a shelter and there for he failed big time
