A new compact tactical model from JETBeam, the TH10R also has a twin, the TH10TAC, which doesn't have the Type C port of the TH10R. This one features 4 power levels, a paddle switch on the base, a compact size, and a high capacity 18650 battery (rated to 3500mAh).
I look at the TH10R in more detail, and discuss the potential pros/cons of this particular model.

As someone who owns and uses numerous tactical torches on the job, I can say I'd definitely prefer it if there was instant access to Turbo. That would have made it a true tactical light, instead of one just marketed as such. Instant strobe really isn't that useful, but some torch companies are clearly under the mistaken interpretation that it is. You're not going to disorient a suspect with strobe. They'll just close their eyes, put their heads down and bum-rush you. Incredibly simple, but highly effective technique since most folks (including police officers) don't know to get off the center-line.
Wings on a tailcap are beyond annoying. Placed there for two reasons. One, so the light can tail-stand. (Though apparently not on this model.) Two, to give the light a lanyard attachment. Both features completely useless on actual tactical lights. The wings even get in the way of training/practice with one's service weapon. Hit the tailcap just right under stress, or jam your thumb against one of the protruding wings. And unlike real wings, the tailcap ones are not soft at all. This is more of a Do-Everything EDC light with a couple of tactical elements tossed in to make it more appealing to buyers. Which is unfortunate because I've used my Jetbeam M64 on the job, and it is a fantastic, hand-held Search light.

To me it sort of falls into that "compact tactical" design, ie base/tail switch no side switch.
I agree I'm not entirely convinced most people need direct access to strobe even when off, but that's how they designed it. I tend to leave it on high output (as it has a memory) and you get momentary or instant high as such. No it's not Turbo, but it's still fairly bright.
I like the feel of it overall. It does stand up, mostly though it's not super stable - the paddles have no impact on the tail stand function..
The other UI way is how Klarus do it with the tactical or outdoor mode, so you can pick if you want the strobe instant access. And get access to the low/turbo if you want. The XT2CR Pro won't tail stand though, output is quite similar (bit more range on the Jetbeam very slightly so) Other makers have different ideas too, maybe that one works better for you.

I'll be honest, to me; it seems a wasted opportunity. Yes, their decision. Completely agree with you there. However, the light has a memory feature. Seems odd that Turbo would be excluded from that feature. While I appreciate the recommendation for that other flashlight model. Decided to go with one that does everything I like on the Jetbeam, but better. Fitorch M20. Same tailcap layout, but the paddle switches are easier to hit. 3,000 lumens of output. Black exterior finish, making the light easily blend in with a pair of black cargo pants; which is what I wear most of time. Fantastic emitter. Lower mounted one-way clip just like the Jetbeam. (Something I definitely prefer.)
Looking at the M20 very closely, aside from the tailcap layout, it's a direct copy of that Klarus model you mentioned above. Heck, their M30 is a direct copy of another Klarus model. Again, aside from the tailcap layout. Like I said, Jetbeam's decision not to include Turbo in the memory mode feature. My decision not to buy this particular Jetbeam model that requires double-click to get to Turbo. Will be buying a model from a different brand that requires only one click to get there. Thank you for your help.

@@dauntlessasmr7910 Yes Fitorch are pretty good I used a few but not that one, I see they also have the switches on the base so I am sure that will work out for you.
I often find there is always something that spoils the party, at least a bit with the hundreds of models i've used!
