      Jade Harley search "jenna marbles what happened to my fishies"
      I don't remember the ins and outs but I think she was recommended a spherical bowl for some fish she bought, and those fish really suffer in those kind of bowls apparently. She was also recommended plastic toys/decoration that they can cut their fins on.
      When she found out she made a 45ish min, that was extremely sweet, saying what happened and demonstrating a great deal of remorse. It was very cute!

    The thing that really bumpes me out is that if everything went fantastic Tana would go around telling that she did everything by HERSELF, she planned everyting, it's all happening because of her idea and so on. She also did interview before Tanacon where she was taking all compliments on how wonderful this idea is and how brave she is for working so hard and planing event in one month. But because it's flopped, suddenly it's not her responsibility, we can't balme her, she's only 19 yada yada yada.

    I can appreciate what everyone is saying about her being young... but at 19 I worked in event planning meanwhile she's running around getting high in Hawaii 2 weeks before her event. Have some accountability for something with your name on it. I think people sometimes forget how old and capable she actually is.

      I did the same I was second in command, below the owner of the company, In charge of four events in two months for five years starting when I was 19. We had around 1000-2000 people at these things and I did it with very few issues cause I put in SO MUCH effort to make it run smooth I had nightmares about making it run properly that’s how much energy you need to put into one of these things

    My opinion: Shane should NOT fix tanas problem at all. It's not his responsibility to fix it nor try to make it right, I totally see why he wants to and why he would, BUT if Shane cleans tanas mess up she won't learn anything herself.. he's just gonna get her off easy and move on. She need to take responsibility for most of this along with her team.

      He's doing one of his 3 part series on Tanacon, BUT he's involving Tana in the whole thing! He wanted to do this to get to the bottom of things because he says he has so many questions and is so confused. But now he's involving Tana so there's going to be nothing but lies and her trying to get out of the blame she's due. I wish he'd just do it himself and really look in to it. He's so much better of a person, a creator, a hard worker than Tana. She can really hold him back or be a blemish for him. I wish he would realize that and realize he's enabling her with some of this stuff and would just separate himself from her. Especially after this and how personally he's taking this because of his own fans being there and getting scammed. But he hasn't. It upsets me so and I wish he could see it and just cut ties with her. As long as she has someone as big and as loved as Shane on her side, it will just continue to enable her.

    I wrote a fucking essay about this and realized I have a lot of thoughts about Tana, but the basic gist of it was: Good podcast, fair opinions but too easy on Tana IMO because:
    a.) Tanacon same weekend/place as Vidcon indicates her intentions were not pure or even mostly for her fans;
    b.) Tana should be held not completely, but more responsible; I believe that as the creator she had the ultimate say in how the convention was going to be run;
    c.) While not old enough/experienced enough to understand all details of how conventions need to be created and run, Tana IS old enough to have the common sense to predict some of the problems that occurred and recognize when she should take advice from people who know better. Her age does not justify how badly this failed.

    I absolutely love that Jenna, a very experienced creator and has been a part of the community for such a long time, talked about this. She talks about this with logic and maturity and not being “shady” or “petty” like how many people talk about the situation. Jenna is so intelligent and many people forget that. She truly is such a beautiful person with a beautiful soul, great job Jenna and of course Julien on this podcast. I absolutely love your podcasts like these cause it’s nice to hear people talk about bad situations with maturity.

    The "mobbing" that happened was when they came outside and told everyone who finally got to the front of the line, after waiting for 4+ hours, that the event was canceled "for the day." Everybody pushed through and ran and grabbed badges, the VIP bags and merch, and they were throwing everything to the other people waiting in line. There were the paper wristbands for the meet and greets in plastic page protectors and everybody was taking those even if they had no idea who it was for. We were told we couldn't register anymore right then and to "stay tuned to social media" to see when we could go back to register that night/the next morning and find out where the second venue for the next day would be. My group had gotten to the front and everyone else started leaving so we thought we would be able to stay right there so we could finally get our badge once they started registration again. We just wanted our badge on Friday so we could get in easier on Saturday without the same thing happening. We were told we had to wait some more, after being kept in the sun and getting majorly burned and getting dehydrated. I had gone to warped tour the day before and made sure I didn't get burned but got fried outside of tanacon. I would have taken sunscreen with me if I was expecting to stand in line for HOURS, but water wasn't even allowed so why would sunscreen be needed or even allowed. They made us wait all day, a lot of people didn't have hotel rooms near the convention so everyone was chilling at the target across the street (#targetcon). My friends and I decided to finally leave at 7 and we didn't get any kind of statement until 5:20 in the morning on Saturday. They also said another announcement would be released at 1:30 Saturday afternoon, but nothing came out until 9:47pm Sunday night. Also, I saw 0 security for bag checks. They didn't care about our safety when they made us stand in a parking lot in the direct sun with no access to shade or even water, so why would they care about our safety inside the event? GoodTimes is offering refunds, but we had to fill out the claim online and it is going to take 30 BUSINESS days for us to get the $77 (VIP Ticket plus fees) back. We also had to spend money on parking elsewhere and the Uber to get to the event because once we pulled up to the hotel they told us to "find parking outside or on the street and walk to the back where the line is." Just to note, there is NO street parking on Harbor Blvd. and all the other businesses had signs saying "no event parking." This event was a disaster.

    The part that really scares me about this is when Madison pointed out these are kids they’re telling to immediately leave. Like I remember so many times growing up age 15-16 being dropped off at movies and concerts and amusement parks and then picked up later. Coming from a person that was not a part of this event at all I find it aggravating that Tana continued to go out to party for her birthday when she knew that there were thousands of people feeling cheated by her event. Personally, if I was in her situation going out would be the last thing in my mind all that matters would be to set this right. I’m not here to bash Tana but I feel disappointed by her actions regarding the matter.

    People keep saying ‘I don’t think this was her intention, she just wanted to do something for her fans’
    1) Intention matters 0%. If you’re drunk driving and kill someone, doesn’t matter if it was intentional or not. Here, she was extremely negligent and naive, that (in a worse situation) could have had serious consequences.
    2) Where is the evidence that she just wanted to do it for her fans? Because she said so? That’s exactly what a con-artist would say, she most likely profited from this situation (unless the majority of refunds go through or legal action is taken by someone), so why does she get a pass?
    I don’t get this ‘I don’t want to bash people’ thought process. If someone has scammed you out of your money and potentially put your health at risk, and seemingly given no legitimate apology or attempt to make it right. THAT PERSON IS SCUM and has deserved the treatment she has been getting.

      J Tevo YES. YES. YES. YES! I'm so sick and tired of people excusing her because her intentions were good, her "heart was in the right place", she was doing it for the fans, she's young, she didn't expect this, yaddah yaddah ya. Nope. She deserves what she's getting. Stop making excuses. Call her out for the bullshit. All her other scandals and stupid shit just involved her or her friends, this involved in ice the fans which were mostly young people and other creators, putting them in jeopardy, their lives and safety at risk, causing pain-harm-unnecessary suffering to them, inhumane treatment and ripping them off of their hard earned money they worked for (a concept she really doesn't get with the shit content she puts together and gets paid for!)! This is unacceptable and I'm tired of seeing everyone excuse away this bullshit or defend her.

    • @HippyDippySkippy
      @HippyDippySkippy 6 років тому +38

      Exactly. Her intentions are shown when she gives away a shit grab bag, no vendors for the people waiting. She doesn’t care if they’re thirsty or hungry. She had nothing set up for them except merch!!! She didn’t even try. She literally booked a small building and had nothing set up.

    • @stringofpeas
      @stringofpeas 6 років тому +31

      pretty much. At first I was thinking it wasn't her fault. She stated that 20,000 people showed up and not the original 5,000. Which wouldn't have been her fault. But after multiple statements including the local police department saying that there was only 5,000 people I was pissed. The venue only can hold around 1250. She willingly oversold the tickets BY A SHIT TON. Yea not a 100 or 200 people. But 4000 people?????!! A complete scam. She had like 2 months to plan which is so not possible. It took vidcon years to build what they have. What a complete joke. I was thinking of going and I'm glad I didn't. I hope her bitchass gets sued

      First I want to make it clear that I'm not defending Tana (I'm not a fan of her, and I don't really watch her videos, unless maybe when she was in the video of some of the UA-camrs I watch).
      BUT I want to comment on the 1) point you made. Especially the specific example you mentioned. Sorry, but IN THAT CASE, the intention is really, really matter.
      If you’re drunk driving and kill someone AS OPPOSED TO if you planned to kill someone by hit and run over them with your car, that's 2 TOTALLY DIFFERENT things. AND that's where the intention becomes very important.
      BECAUSE in that kind of situation, the intention will indicate if you get charged with manslaughter OR murder. And the punishments for those 2 things are very, very different.
      So I just don't understand why you would use that kind of example, though.

      There still could be lawsuits. Based on all the videos by Shane there’s enough evidence there that can be used to do a lawsuit against both tana and that weirdo on the Segway. Hope people band together and do it. Because obviously they aren’t going to get their money back willingly. They could sue for emotional damages and numerous other things. I’m not a lawyer but do know definitely enough to do a lawsuit. Especially since people went to the hospital, got serious sun burns which is dangerous and bodily damage. All those videos of her talk shit like “how people love to wait in lines in shitty weather” that right proves intent. And how people where asking her maybe we should go down to 3,000 tickets instead of 5,000. And she refused. Like even if they dropped it to 3,000 that would still be too many. Again hope people GET TOGETHER and DO A LAWSUIT against her and that creeper on the Segway.

    This was a mistake built on a foundation of pure hubris. Tana needs to learn that she is an adult whose actions have consequences that affect other people. She has gotten this way because she surrounds herself with enablers who support her sloppy, destructive "on brand" behavior. Thankfully the worst that resulted from this was some sunburn and lost money.

    Hearing all this praise on Shane's part after all that happened in 2020 just makes me so uncomfortable. Even back then it just felt like he was milking the situation when he made a series about it. Now, don't get me wrong, I still watched the series because I didn't know about the situation in much detail, and I thought it was easier to watch a video rather than do a twitter deep-dive, but imho it was so obvious that he was in on it for the drama, not to help anyone or solve the situation, with the way he executed the series.

    The police department that handled TanaCon has said that the line was at most 4000 - 5000, not 15000-20000 like Tana and Good Times are saying. Also I called the hotel and the said the venue could only hold at max 1000 people, not 5000. Tana and Good Times scammed all of these people. I think that almost everyone that was in the line probably purchased a ticket, and the venue didn't have room for 5000 people, so only 1000 people where able to be in the hotel at one time. This is such a scam, with lies coming from Good Times and Tana to try and cover their a**es. I also started to start to respect Tana, until this, but I mean what should've we expected from a girl that is always late and irresponsible. Shame.

      Everyone who attended tana conned needs to GET TOGETHER and do a MAJOR LAWSUIT. Put her in her and that creepy Segway guy in their place and make them actually take responsibility for her shit. They are both old enough to make proper decisions yet didn’t. Jenna AND Julien keep saying 20,000 people attended nope. Tana is being super NARCISSISTIC about that. She literally was saying 20,000 people showed up TO SAVE HER ASS. As a COP OUT. As if EVERYTHING was goi g fine UNTIL 20,000 people showed up which WAS TOTAL BULLSHIT. In REALITY More like 4-5000. Also THEY ARE BEING WAY TO KIND TO TANA. STOP BABYING HER. When someone messes up this bad, it’s NOT a good idea to be so lenient and give them a pass. People DID GET HURT. She needs to GROW UP. Own her own shit. Own the fact that NO FREE PASSES exists or ONLY like 50 tops free tickets where given OUT OF ONLY 5,000. Again there are ALOT OF GROUNDS for a MASSIVE AND MAJOR LAWSUIT against both tana and that Michael creep from good times. Again people GOT HURT. Emotional trauma, physical trauma from the sunburns. Getting burnt that badly can cause long term damage to the body. People where wheeled off in hospital beds because they literally where to the point of complete EXHAUSTION and are being brought to the hospital. The bad security could have literally hurt everyone there. AGAIN hope EVERYONE attending STARTS A MASSIVE LAWSUIT against good times, Tana and Michael, and ANYONE else directly involved.

    Tana also still had a duty to immediately address the topic. She waited until today to even bring it up. She didn’t even really release a heartfelt apology. The whole twitter spam was a “I’m sorry but feel bad for me also lemme shout out big UA-camrs that defended me even tho I didn’t deserve it ❤️”. She needs to face what happened as an adult and not drive the whole thing as she is the victim entirely. I understand how she couldn’t have been completely at fault, but the way she handled the WHOLE THING is terrible.

    Thanks for talking about this! I graduated in hospitality admin and one of the main topics of that major is event planning. I see so many cons run by kids who have good intentions but don't know a thing about conventions, and they end up with an epic shit show. The "selling merch while people are being kicked out" thing totally bothers me and makes me think it was a money grab. And if you did go, request a charge back from your credit card company. Do it soon too!

    • @erinhaury5773
      @erinhaury5773 6 років тому +37

      This is spot on. I've never run a con, but I've been both a vendor and press for one of the local anime cons, as well as attending regularly as a fan. What I've seen over the last 19 years, as the con has grown from a few hundred people to 25,000+, is that logistics are the lynch-pin in a successful convention. Line management, security checks, panel scheduling, guest management, vendor handling, venue selection, medical services... this list goes on and on. If the convention is poorly managed it will fall apart with frightening rapidity. This whole TanaCon fiasco is simply the fault of poor event planning and execution, obviously because the event planner had no idea what she was getting herself into.
      Honestly, I feel for the girl. She was trying to do something nice and it blew up in her face. Unfortunately, she has handled the situation poorly since it happened. She can still stand up and put out an apology and try to find a way to compensate the attendees who got the shaft, so I hope she does. This is a great learning opportunity, even if it's a painful lesson.

  • @scoutlaceharding
    @scoutlaceharding 6 років тому +248

    I get that Jenna and Julien don't want to drag Tana and I respect them for it...but I still think they are cutting her too much slack because of her age. 19 is young, sure, but it's old enough for common sense. If you're putting on an event like this, it's your responsibility to look into how these types of events are successfully run. You can't sell 5,000 tickets for an event with a venue that can only hold 800 people, AND tell people to just show up to get in for free, and THEN say that you weren't expecting as big a turnout as you got.
    19 is also old enough to take responsibility for your massive fuck-ups. The fact that she hasn't yet apologized is disgraceful and she should be busting her ass to make sure people get refunded the money she scammed them out of-- even if the scam wasn't intentional. I don't care if she has a birthday party to get to her responsibility for the disaster she just made people pay to go through takes precedence.
    And look, I know it would be awesome if, for free, an unlimited number of people could get an unlimited amount of time with creators but unfortunately, that isn't how the space/time continuum works. I feel like there is this naive idea that some people have that things like VidCon cost money because the businesses running it are greedy. Like all of the money you pay is going straight into their pockets. The truth is that the more people you get into one place the more expensive it becomes to make sure everyone is safe. Yes, companies look to turn a profit as well, but a big piece of what you pay for when you buy a ticket to these things is the organization and structure in place to make sure that you and everyone else are safe while you have a good time. That's just reality. (Of course, it sounds like even though this was billed as a free event most people paid anyway sooo....yeah.)

    • @scoutlaceharding
      @scoutlaceharding 6 років тому +11

      Just to be clear, though, I don't think Tana is solely to blame. I completely agree that, regardless of what she wanted the event to be like, it was up to the event company to impose enough structure onto it that it was realistic and, more importantly, SAFE. I'm so glad nothing terrible happened but that was purely luck.

      Llyrra Treks but she did apologize on Twitter. I believe she was upset about it as well and was left in the dark by some things. I blame the venue and her manager. Common sense is sometimes based upon experience. Yes this was her first time and for it to already have been rushed it didn’t help that the venue and stuff messed up big time and left her in the dark. I don’t think jandj are giving her a pass because of her age but I’m sure they come from experience as well. It’s so easy to sit back and judge when your not in the situation and want answers. These people that wanted to go see her suddenly do a 360 and start bashing her.

      I was a qualified health care assistant at 19 years old. It's just insulting that people say her age is an excuse for her mistakes. If I made a "mistake" of malpractice which resulted in harm or death, my age would not have held up in court. It's not her age. It's her.

    • @twinkletoes6290
      @twinkletoes6290 6 років тому +5

      GeekFreeek the venue had jack shit to do with this. If anything, they could sue her because of what she did, breech of contract, jeopardizing their regular guests as well as those attending the convention, interrupting regular business and costing them money, etc etc etc. Her name is on it, her face behind it, she promoted it and got other creators to come, she sold tickets from her socials - she would have basked in the glory if it would have been a success and would have taken all the credit, she takes the fall and the majority of the blame along with any of her backers if it fails. She said just that in an interview prior to the event, so she knew this ahead of time, so for her to then not take blame, responsibility and be fully accountable afterwards is quite telling and immature. She's a legal adult - she can serve jury duty, vote, Drive, buy cigarettes, she can be charged with a crime as an adult and go to jail, she can bring a life in to this world - which I knew ladies that had kids at her age, she can get plastic surgery, she can sign medical papers or any legal papers, she can hire an attorney herself, she pays taxes.......I don't know, that sounds pretty damn adult to me?!? So she can take responsibility and the fall for this. She was directly involved. If she was stupid enough to throw an event with her name and likeness attached to it and sat back doing none of the work, letting everyone else make decisions and not be informed and involved in them and be in the dark as to what's going on.........then she's even more dumb than we think because she's still responsible for all of that and she would literally have handed decisions she could pay for if they go wrong over to someone else because she can't be bothered to be involved with something she is throwing. That argument makes no sense and even if it were true - it would make her look way worse than she already does and would end her up in more shit than she already is. This is pretty damn serious, I don't think a lot of people including Tana actually understand that. This is not just a goof, this is a major fuck up with major ramifications and consequences. If you call what she tweeted an apology, and a genuine apology, you have incredibly low standards and don't understand the definition of apology or genuine apology.

      I can’t imagine an event that large with no security checks.

    46: 37 I disagree. She's a grown woman - an immature one, but one that can make large legal decisions on many things. She's a self-employed UA-camr - it IS her job to know the ins and outs because the entire point of this resulted from trying to call out Vidcon for their practices. How do you do that without learning exactly why they did what they did? Why didn't she do research on the thing she was upset at them about to prove they didn't do it right? With her name attached it was absolutely her responsibility to make sure everything went ok and the fact that she let the management company do everything official without digging deeper into what was being organized and stepping in when her friends told her 'Hey . . this is a bad idea' (which someone actually DID do but she ignored them) is no one's fault but her own.
    If I had someone approach me about a business agreement that they'd advertise using my name I'd be on them 24/7 asking for details, probably hire outside help to ensure everything was proper and legit because the hell-storm that would result from failure would come back to me.

    I know I'm two years late to this but I'm really proud of Jenna and Julien for refusing to be a part of social media's "Cancel Culture". They're willing to give Tana another chance, and they're willing to forgive some things. It's a healthy in-between for holding her accountable and also ensuring that we don't take it too far.
    These two are really good role models and I proudly name them as such.
    I feel like more people should listen to this podcast because of how well-rounded, thoughtful and mature these two are.

    Honestly, what she should have done was had it concert style. Like a coachella stage outside with lights, maybe some bleachers, some food trucks, some port-a-pottys. Maybe some vendors like Redbull, Oevo, youtubers' merch, people selling jewelry, henna, etc. Acts come up to the stage (the wedding/performances/etc., panels come up, etc.) Have a huge barrier with security between stage & the crowd. There is obviously a HUGE DEMAND. I think if she re-did it the right way, I would go.

      Janette Marlene I agree! I feel like she was so focused on "sticking it to vidcon" and like getting revenge that she basically wanted it to be super similar to vidcon. When actuality she could have done something really amazing if she had thought this out. Shes too young honestly I mean she makes videos talking about all the pills she pops and drugs she does. People can't except much from her. Shes immauture and it's sad to see all these young kids following her and looking up to her. I'm sure majority of those people that showed up were there for the other creators specifically Shane Dawson.

    • @stringofpeas

      omg exactly. Like that would've worked so much better. People would've known what they were getting in to. Like nobody expected to stand outside for 6 hours waiting to get in. Something like that seems more realistic for her time span of scheduling. It's a lot easier to throw 5000 people outside rather in a venue that only fits 1250. Then the next year she could've had an indoor venue if she wanted because there is more time to plan. At first I kinda felt bad for her because she said that a shit ton of extra people showed up. But no, they oversold tickets and it was a complete scam. There were 5000 people not 20000.

    I have never planned a large event but even I can do the math and realize that when you sell 5000 tickets for a location that has a far smaller capacity than that, and on top of it tell people to just 'swing by' because it's free, there's going to be chaos. It blows my mind that Good Times, who are supposedly a professional company who specializes in putting on conventions, didn't realize this.

    • @elimakesdo7025

    I help run smaller specialty cons. There's only so much shit that I can throw at Good Times. They'll do what they were hired & paid to do. What people saw at Tanacon is likely what they were paid for.
    If there was a lack of security, an inadequate venue, lack of amenities, etc., it was likely because of a lack of funds to cover those costs. No event organizer is going to hand that stuff off free of charge, and it's basic shit. It's not out of the question that they handed Tana a bill for how much this stuff would cost and she had to cut corners.

    • @v0rtecks
      @v0rtecks 6 років тому +6

      Amanda M. she admitted in Shane's third video about tanacon that she didn't spend a dime. shane asked Michael from GoodTimes about the money tana put in, and tana immediately interjected and said Michael told her it was an "investment"- basically, she didn't have to pay him for anything because of all the exposure and fame he'd get from hosting. also, he probably got away with every ticket purchase, so he made bank off of that-- it just NEVER came from tana's pockets.

  • @gabimarie4297
    @gabimarie4297 6 років тому +17

    1. She keeps saying 15,000 people just showed up, I find that incredibly hard to believe. I've heard people having a lot of problems with their site and people able to buy tickets while the event is being cancelled, people able to sign up for more than one meet and greet even though you weren't supposed to. I 100% believe that their site wasn't working and majority of people who showed up had a ticket.
    2. It's insane that she even admitted to selling 5,000 tickets because people working in the hotel were saying the capacity was around 1500 and she had 500 slots for each meet and greet when the meet and greet rooms capacity were under 100.
    3. I think one of her biggest problems is she was trying to be the main act. It's called TANAcon. That means she should've been the businesswoman of the whole thing. She should've been controlling security, she should've been monitoring the lines, she should've made sure there was at least water. If all she wanted to do was be on stage the whole time then just go tour because that's basically what she wanted.

I have the honor of working at one of the largest arenas in town and our security looks at tickets, bags, medal detectors, and we have so many badges for different events. I hate that everyone keeps using Tana's age as an excuse. No, I know a good amount of 19 year olds that would realize this event wouldn't work. Especially since she has been to conventions before she should know that people wouldn't be able to walk by people like Shane Dawson without stopping and causing a mob. The naivety is overwhelming. Also, telling people that they could get in without tickets is ridiculous.
    This event was also created out of spite and that's not a good start when planning a major event. I'm not surprised at how this event turned out at all. She's definitely not the only one to blame but it's just frustrating to hear the age as an excuse. (btw I'm 28 so I'm not a 19 year old defending other 19 year olds haha)

    This year, I went to a Memorial Day hot air balloon festival at a local farm, sponsored by a local radio station. They had lots of food trucks, massive hot air balloon launches, live music acts, fireworks, and even served alcohol. It was heavily attended, as tickets were very cheap.
    Everything went off perfectly, and I was very impressed. THEN I found out that this was the FIRST year they had done this!! If a local radio station in rural NC can pull off an amazing, heavily attended festival safely, even with hot air balloons, fireworks, and alcohol present, how the hell does one of the biggest online celebrities mess up this much??!

    Tana is young and immature, and her reputation among her peers is poor--she's constantly canceling/showing up late for collabs. I am not surprised at all that this whole thing fell apart. It's also ironic that she was mad at Vidcon security for not letting her just meet and greet her fans anywhere she wanted, and then her own event fell victim to those very same concerns.

    Just a thought... were her intentions in the right place? Cuz it feels a bit more like a rushed event that had to be on this date that had to be held in anaheim just to stick it to the man than to set up her own event in her own way to achieve the ultimate goal which was for creators to meet fans. If meeting the fans were truly her intentions it would have been okay to take the time and make it perfect.... i dont know...

      I’m positive this whole event was definitely a scam. Events like these legally require a specific amount of security and safety precautions to be held. People who went claim that they saw no security. If she sold more than the amount of people able to fit in that space. She’s in definite legal trouble. I don’t even feel sorry for her. Idiots like her shouldn’t have this kind of influence and power over others. I’ve seen so many emergency videos about fire hazards and this was so hazardous it’s not even funny. The incompetence level that Tana has is depressing. I hope Shane takes care of himself legally. He better prove that he had no idea how this event was being run or he can potentially be liable for criminal charges as well. He should stop trying to fix this. As well as all the other “creators” who also claimed they were gonna be a part of it.

    I mean she got kicked out of vidcon for this exact reason, shit turning into a mess quick. And yet she still said “I didn’t know this many people would show up?” I mean, you had Shane Dawson who hasn’t had an intimate meet and greet in so long there and pretty much giving away paying peoples positions in the venue and you still didn’t see the mess it would become? Honestly, it was just a revenge scheme from the get go. If she cared enough about making a good con she would have taken to the time to plan it better, but it had to be on the exact same day as vidcon.. The tea is, good times or whatever the event organiser’s names is has a history of putting on haphazard events 🤧

      Dana Marie also its a lie that there was a mob and 20.000 people outside. Building could hold only 1.000 and outside was about 4.000 people waiting. People aint dumb to not recognize the 15.000 difference

    • @DaniiBananie1995

      Nastigyal regardless, it was a shit show from the start. Like I understand her wanting everyone to get the chance to meet her but why ask people to pay for tickets if people were just going to get everything for free? Also, the goodie bags that were “going to be sick and worth the price of the tickets” and from what I gathered was a pop socket, a wristband and a cheap ass condom with her name on it. It’s so unfair for the other creators too like Shane, who might I add is doing more for the people that showed up than the event organisers and Tana herself 🙄

      This 100%! It needs to be called out for what it is. It’s fine to make mistakes, but this was just lazy, rushed and negligent.

    Listening to the two of you speak so diplomatically and gracefully about these sensitive topics is very refreshing. You help me organize my own thoughts and look at things in a more healthy way. SIDE NOTE: I had never heard of Tana Mongeau until a few weeks ago lol - so I took everything I read with a grain of salt. And when I saw you would be discussing it on the podcast it just reminded me of how you utilize your platform to show your subscribers what it means to be someone of character and humanity. I applaud you both. Thank you.

    I feel like people need to stop shielding her and her behavior just because she's a personal friend or a fellow creator. She did this whole thing out of spite. In the expense of children. That's really fucked up. It's not in good intentions if you're not aware of the fact that kids are being involved and you're being petty just because you got kicked out of vidcon. I get it vidcon isn't perfect but she got kicked out and she didn't have to suffer in the blazing 90 degree Californian heat. And she's a goddamn adult. So it's okay to criticize Jake Paul but oh Tana is precious. It's not in good intentions. It's her ego. Guess what she did before trying to fix this fuck up? Partying...classic...just like the time she shamed idubbbz and issued an apology weeks later.

      I don't hate Tana but it's time for her to take responsibility and start treating her fairly because ever since the idubbbz situation she just went downhill

      Thank you! I am SO SICK of people coddling Tana every time she messes up. She’s proven time and time again that she’s irresponsible, a proven liar, and super manipulative. For once in her life, she needs to be held accountable for her actions.

    And let’s be real. I love Jenna & Julien, but I have never wanted to meet UA-camrs at some convention setting.
    It’s sooo cringy that so many ppl would pay $$$$ to just see a famous person. It’s mind boggling to me.

      CeeJay Gunn same tho like I like a good bunch of creators and if I ran into them I'd be pretty chuffed and it'd make my day but I don't think it's worth paying huge amounts of money cause that's not for me but if it is something people enjoy then I guess it's not too bad lol 😂

      I totally agree. It's weird to me that ppl are so, for lack of a better word, obsessive.. Jenna is hands down my fave youtuber, and if I saw her in public I'd be like heyyy beech. Lol. But I would not pay to meet her.. just not my gig..

      I think some people do this because there is no chance that they will meet those people ever in real life because they life on different continents so the chance to meet their favourite creators is something important to them.
