Gotta start slow. It's not actually as complicated to do this sorta thing. You just start with something simple like reading player names and taking note of when they die. Then you can do stuff like taking note of common spots for people to be in, and that links together with knowing player names by checking if a player has gone to that location. And you build lists of stuff like this slowly. Cooldowns, ult charge and other things can be tracked individually and eventually it becomes something you think about subconsciously.
@@ethandonnelly1973 you have to be tracking outs from first fight onwards depending on how much your team was getting farmed and if they have like a moira/bap etc.

Ethan Donnelly correct. I played with #2 Winston on US server daily and at times he couldn’t carry in silver. Silver has tons of smurfs. I was one of them ;)

I've always admired your mental agility. Playing, explaining every detail of that you do and what's happening around and also communicating with your teammates in almost 0 delay and in a foreign language. And you actually hit GM in the end of the series, while I celebrated getting to Diamond a month ago after 4 years of playing and just focusing on my own gameplay.
Being a god doesn't mean you're gonna just smash another team of a lower rank. Theres only so much one player can do. You might be able to make a clutch sleep or heal orb or something like that, but elsewhere someone has just used a crucial cooldown for no good reason and the impending attack is gonna blow through uncontested. Thats why I always laugh when someone calls themselves the "Carry" of a match and then they bitch about not being healed in the same breath. You aint carrying shit if you needed a supports full and undivided attention just to get a couple picks. That's the support carrying you.
Gold console Moira with 200 hours on her. ML7 has taught me little yet vital things that have helped me to climb. My goal is to reach diamond 700 Sr to go. 100 SR gained in 2 hours and it's because of this educational Moira vod series. You will still lose and Draw some games, that's life but ML7 can help you get to GM with his tips if you really wanted to grind that much.
I'm sure you get this alot but man, your videos REALLY help as a newer player. OW is the first FPS i've ever really played so i gave up on DPS pretty fast, but this game has some of the most complex and interesting support characters i've ever seen and your videos make it so much fun to learn them, Thank You!
I really enjoy Moira. I think in lower levels she is incredibly strong, due to how fast she can pump out healing. The biggest mistake that i see others do is, they just use the damage orb. Like i don't mind throwing out a cheeky damage orb at the start of a game but i have learnt to mainly use the healing orb and once i started doing that my percentage win rate on her went up at least 50% more. I'm no grand master and i mainly play quick play but in ranked i mainly play Moira. Then her fade is so good, again i mainly use it to reposition in team fights or when I'm cleaning up a team fight I'll fade in and damage orb. Her ult is awesome for just about any situation, few team mates are low in team right, ult, enemy team bottle necked before team fight, ult, follow up a team mates ult, grav (if no one else has follow up ) solders, roadhog, mcree, pharah, so any channeling ult, genji ult (both yours and enemy, just to focus him down) and overtime to get them off payload or point. And while she isnt a huge damage dealer and your team is full health just hold your damage. it refills health meter while you do it and life steal too. having a small hit box makers her really hard to hit while you can one v one lower health pools and aim doesn't have to be great too.
I’m a DPS main, but before RQ I would frequently fill in support and if not for ML7 I would have effective thrown all of those games. And I still pick support in RQ frequently. Favorite support player, if not favorite player in general, for sure
I main Moira around 800-hours on her, I've watched some top 500 and grand master game play and honestly wasn't that impressed. But when I watch ML7 use her it makes me smile. Well done mate, good job.
Get about the animation cancels. However, waiting for the dmg orb to arrive in the backline of the enemy, then using ult is better - sudden burst of 120 dmg/sec, you can surprise a lot of people with this tactic. So unless you are right in the enemy's face its better NOT to animation cancel ultimate, but time it correctly with the orb arrival.
I've learned from you what is most important for OW. That is MENTAL ABILITY such as mindset like 'what can I do for my team or what should I do for my team'.

So I don’t know if this is common knowledge but I recently discovered you can hold either left or right click then tap e and you skip the animation of creating the orbs in your hands. I do it almost every time now. Adds an extra tick of damage/healing

Playnig Moira in mid-master, know pretty much about hero, how to play, how to be in a team. After Ana playing on her is very big amount of time, when you can think, and it's destructive for me sometimes (don't wanna see that much teammate mistakes pls). Great work btw. :3 Like this hero, like her place in meta.
The mouse wheel trick is nice, but as a console player I just try to tap the trigger fast. But even without the trick, I almost never find myself running out of heal juice... because Moira's beam is so long that you get it for free anyway. The only time I run out of juice is if I accidentally waste healing orb too early and it just flies away. But between the lingering heal over time and your 2nd healer (usually Lucio) I almost never even drop below 33% of my healing resource. Then again, I'm in diamond so people dont deal as much damage in the first place.
Loving these educational series! I realize Lucio isn't a hero you play particularly often but is there any chance you'd be able to also start up a series on him?
As a support, below diamond and some diamond matches, you will have to dps a bit because your dps may not have the aim needed or will be out of position. But I play on ps4 it may be different on computer.
I've managed to climb up to 3300 as support, playing mostly with Moira, Bap and some Zen when I think the enemy comp is OK. I'm loving this series of yours, and the scroll down tip is awesome. Maybe on the next episodes you can get in depth a little bit more about barriers. I don't know if the double shield meta will last after the patch comes live, but anyways it would be good to know when to advance, opr tips to heal through barriers.
nothing about the orb animation skip? for who doesn't know, when moira was released one of the things that jeff said to skip the orb choose part is to just use primary or secondary fire and then press orb so if you are healing and press E it will just throw it right away, same will with damage except it will throw a damage orb

Overall: I just wanted to say that I think that you are one of the best support players in OW, just because you can explain everything while playing consistently good.
Yeah, I cant understand why so many people care if everyone is in voice. 3 or 4 people making calls is fine and those not in voice chat are usually tank or healer and just follow whoever is in front

I wish you would've brought up about the fact that healing spray is projectile and not hitscan. A lot of people when healing track their teammates with their spray like it's hitscan and miss a good portion of their heals. That and I also hope you mention the healing over time effect that your spray leaves when tapping it.

I LOVE shot calling. Is basically the main reason why I play support. The unfortunate thing is... I'm from Argentina, which puts me in the same servers with people from all latin america. Most latin american players are from Brazil and the thing is that they speak ONLY and STRICTLY really fast and closed portuguese which makes it so hard to communicate. Sometimes a kind soul would talk to me in english but are rare the occasions when I can truly shot call or even understand what they are trying to say. With time I have learned some portuguese shot calls and I really, really try to make myself understandable. But it usually turns out in more Ls than Ws. Low rank solo q in latin america is a fucking nightmare
What do you do when your tanks feed and dps play a mile away from you and spam I need healing Edit: I’ve learned how to play ana and now can deal with this well
Patience. Figure out the best time to play. I get good teams around 1-6am I assume because all the kids are asleep at that time 😂 when i know a game is lost I practice new things/heroes in the competitive setting
Btw, with brain dead hero it does not mean that you cannot play in an intelligent way, it just means that you can play it brain dead and still have value. In fact, every hero, even those with low skill ceiling, can carry if you can play intelligently. Just as, any hero has more value if the person knows the tech, positioning, and have great game sense, but even if a player has none of those you can be extremely effective as Moira. In fact, for every other support hero you have to be twice as good just to be as effective as you would be playing Moira. That would not be a problem if the hero was fun to play, or it would require such a low skill floor so it feels like cheating when the other Moira is carrying the game. When the enemy Moira kills you by throwing an orb and then holding right click, when you can clearly see in the kill cam that she is not even aiming at you, then it feels like cheating and that is why people are mad with Moira. I don't personally think she is OP, in fact I would love if she gets a buff, but they make her harder to play so it would be actually fun to play as her(something like making her actually have to aim, making her damage like Sym's primary fire that would be fun).

Patience. Figure out the best time to play. I get good teams around 1-6am I assume because all the kids are asleep at that time 😂 when i know a game is lost I practice new things/heroes in the competitive setting

Btw, with brain dead hero it does not mean that you cannot play in an intelligent way, it just means that you can play it brain dead and still have value. In fact, every hero, even those with low skill ceiling, can carry if you can play intelligently. Just as, any hero has more value if the person knows the tech, positioning, and have great game sense, but even if a player has none of those you can be extremely effective as Moira. In fact, for every other support hero you have to be twice as good just to be as effective as you would be playing Moira. That would not be a problem if the hero was fun to play, or it would require such a low skill floor so it feels like cheating when the other Moira is carrying the game. When the enemy Moira kills you by throwing an orb and then holding right click, when you can clearly see in the kill cam that she is not even aiming at you, then it feels like cheating and that is why people are mad with Moira. I don't personally think she is OP, in fact I would love if she gets a buff, but they make her harder to play so it would be actually fun to play as her(something like making her actually have to aim, making her damage like Sym's primary fire that would be fun).
