I really hope to become a great pianist, win some cometitions and start my chamber pianist carrer. Then maybe, If Itry hard enough, I will be ignored at youtube video while playing with some well-known soloist.
Luisfernando Tapia accompanying such a unique talent like Vengerov is a great achievement. The alternative is a solo career. Keep it up!

This Scherzo of Brahms became incredibly special for me from the first time I've heard it with Henryk Szeryng. Brahms was completely himself from the very beginning. Of course, he had his period of learning, but he was always Brahms. I don't regard it as a competition because it is not what art is meant for, but I don't know of any composer who is closer to me than Brahms. So it is a marvel to listen to these two great performers.

Not amazing this is only a part of the famous Sonata FAE composed by BRAHMS, SCHUMANN and DIETRICH for the FAMOUS violonist Joseph JOACHIM ! FAE means "Frei aber Einsam" or "Free but Alone". Joseph JOACHIM was a friend of Johannes BRAHMS, and played with CLARA SCHUMANN. My Ancestor Friedrich LIST was the best friend of Robert SCHUMANN.

I love this tempo. Realizing that this is a scherzo, I still think most violinists play this too fast.
Yes, faster than this and it just sounds rushed. Many (amateur) violinists don't realise what the piano has to achieve technically as well.

I enjoy that they do not play it too fast. If you like it faster listen to Kavakos and Wang, also very good.
True! I came to UA-cam after discovering Kavakos-Wang interpretation of this piece in Spotify. When I heard Maxim's playing, I first felt it's a little bit slowed but in the end, I love both interpretations by Kavakos and Maxim ❤️

this was one of those pieces where the piano accompaniment actually made it twice as hard cuz this song is a bitch with syncopated or offset rhythms where the piano could be going 2/2 while the violin is going 3/2 or something I dont even remember. it was just a pain in the ass. (but worth it in the end)

Nicola-Fee Bahl thank you for providing us with his name. It’s a shame when videos are shared and seem to be missing the other half of the music, as in acknowledging the other musician on stage! With such a prominent part, this couldn’t be performed without piano , but sometimes people forget this.....
@squidpanda23 not always true. In some pieces, the piano can truly be just accompanying. However, in this sonata especially, a large amount of the focus is definitely on the piano, so it is more a duet than a violin-sonata
