How Holy Prophet and Imams of Ahlulbayt Faced Racism |

  • The month of February (or October, depending on where you live) is commemorated as Black History Month in the Western world, highlighting the sufferings of the people of colour and their journey towards liberation.
Although Islam discourages racism very strongly, we can not assume that Muslims do not struggle with being unprejudiced. History tells us that even the Holy Prophet and the Imams faced racism. And their lives teach us how to embrace all races and colours.

The lecture is indeed an extract from the seemingly or presumed suppressed hoards of truth about what actually happened and who were there, and how were they to be precise. This is just the herald of what is come because white wash agenda within our community based on deliberate cover up must vacate us as soon as possible to allow a lasting solution to reign. We can't continue to get unnecessarily confused with minor issues as educated Muslims whilst we have the solution. We have to simply have the courage to accept the fact that the dark tone of skin is link to all the prophets and their descendants (a.s.) and stop the confusion.

      Kokab Batool ,
May I share some of my " ridiculous " thoughts with you ,,
So many Muslims worldwide have no problem using the - face to face hands - symbol to express their thanks, sympathy, gratitude or pleading ,,,
My humble assessment is that this icon is not easily fitted in the overall islamic culture just because it is originally from other cultures and ways of doing prayers ..
      Thank you.

'Aisha and her father Atiq themselves were from dark skin origins. Their forefathers were brought as slaves to qureish and other Arabs. Abu Bakr's people like 'Umar's were brought and kept in the lowest social ranks. They had no say in the society. Both men offered their daughters 'Aisha and Hafsa to the Prophet of Islam as wives. The truth is they used their daughters as investments. They wanted to have access to the Prophet of Islam for their future ambitions. The Prophet of Islam knew all that but he was not allowed to turn them down. Almighty Allah commanded His Messanger to marry the trouble makers and keep them. However, Almighty Allah did not allow these two trouble making wives to have children with the His Messanger and He allowed that to happen with the believing woman Maria al-qubtia. That's how and why fathers and daughters got really mad and done all kind of plots against the Prophet of Islam to the point of killing him with poison ,,,

There are light skinned African/Black colored people.
Many people are considered light around black people who might be considered brown around white people. If the Bani Isreal were dark like the Eygptians considering Musa(as) was dark black, then the Arabs who Ismeal(as) married into that never left the region nor married other cultures surely were not white like Europeans, but light amongst Black people.

Imam Ali a.s, acaccording to Sunni and Shia scholars, was described as Adam Shadid al-Udma (very dark) also the same color as Bilal r.a
Most of the Imam's were dark (Black).

In regards to Imam Ali, there has been researches on what his exact physical appearance was. To a certain extent, it has been found that in the specific case of Imam Ali, Ummayad historian tried to picture him with an appearance that can arouse aversion. Hence we see his description as short heighted with a belly along with chicken legs and a black complexion. Even though if Imam Ali had this kind of appearance he would still be Imam Ali, but in his particular case, this appearance neither meets that of his parents nor of his progeny.
