Took about an hour with all the right tools and experience replacing things like computer components and cellphone screens. Not a bad repair. The only hangup was taking the double retainers off the LED strips without the forked tool. Simple enough solution with a makeshift tool but make sure you push down on the silver tabs as that releases the LED strips. The rest was very straight forward. Thank you for the excellent tutorial.
Thanks for the video! Came in handy getting my 65” fixed. A new set of LEDs took care of some purple spots that developed. A guess a few LEDs were dying.
1st time replacing LEDS, took me 3 hours of cautious work. Samsung 55" is like new!
what did you use for the forked type tool to unclip? the LED strips? I don't want to attempt this without the proper tools , nervous lol
@@tony--james just pushed the pins in with tweesers
@@gilwe yeah, that's what I thought could be used as I study these videos, thanks, I haven't done this, and I'm still intimidated , but much less now, as I learn, I wonder why the LEDS would fail in the first place, aside from being cheap, I have a 2006 Lenovo PC monitor with a million hours on it, and it doesn't have this issue.. the TV itself, ( a UN55MU6300F) made in May 2018, has only 1 bad LED of the 84 LEDs , it's #10 from the left, of the 14, on the lowest row, at bottom,, it is a low hour set, 20 hours a month, or so, a couple of movies a week., at best, I can live with it for now, but I'm guessing others will start to fail and display the purple haze, so yeah, I'm learning now for that day , and preparing
Thank you so much for your videos. I have a Samsung un60es8000 which all of a sudden developed a dark , area about 6 inches wide horizontally across the tv it started out on the left side for a couple of days the the right side of the area got bright then the next day was completely dark just like the other side. So I now have an 8 inch dark area completely across my screen in the lower half of the screen. I know this tv is not worth a technician fixing it and I will get another, but I would like to try to fix, unless it’s too hard. Do you think it is a video board or tcon board or do you think I have to take it completely apart to check backlight or leds. Thanks for your help.
first off, I know zilch, and have not done this lol, but I'm curious as to why the strips are 2 pieces each? like that 60/40 split, with 2nd connection to make one complete strip
If the tv is already broken then why not have some fun and try and fix it?? Literally all you need is a brain, philly screwdriver, and 2 hands. What it doesn’t show is where to buy the damn parts.
Google is a thing
You buy it from them 😅 it's a tv parts shop making the video
How much do the parts cost? You had a lot of backlight strips to replace. Is it practical with an old tv like this?
about 60 bucks
@shopjimmy after replacing the LED backlights, can you plug the TV in and check the backlight before reassembling the screen? is it recommended and safe (to the tv circuit/components not personal safety) to do so or could it damage the screen drivers? I have seen videos where they do this, it would be handy to check all is well before reassembling.
How’d it go ?
My set has blackness at bottom third of screen .
I’m a gamer , TVs had a workout .
I can still see picture through blackness at bottom so I’m holding off that repair job.
Why buy newer set if they are worse quality in terms of longevity.
2k res is still super sharp to me who grew up on tube tv and thought component video was awesome .
Boomer out
How to order that kind of backlight for Samsung ua55ku6000g
My question exactly!
My Samsung 55 is made about 2013.
Only bottom third of screen has that see through darkness .
Does this mean maybe something else is blown like capacitor?
Hello, What kind (diameter) of vacuum tool you are using for such a display size? Its 12cm dia enough? E.g. ali item 1005006186496217 will suit? 47" I made by hands, but 55" looks like too big for disassembly without tool. Thanks!
By the time I buy all the tools and parts I could just get a new 4k that will last 3 years
Props to Samsung for the repairability of this tv... No glue holding in the led strips is huge! It's like their engineers made it for people to repair it themselves
Nice job
mine tivi Samsung 55"TV UA55RU73000, is the LED Backlight strip same type or like yours?
Whelp, guess I'm getting a new TV. Doesn't seem that difficult of a process but I only paid like $320 for mine so I'll upgrade and save my time instead.
290 dollars worth of time?
When i taking the bezel it broke on me, what should i do? where can i order blacklights from?
Can you help me find a replacement screen for my Hisense 75” TV. Model# 75R6E32024IJ
I would imagine it’s a similar process. Take off the parts and take pictures so you know what should go where, just in case. Labeling things you remove may help as well.
Light filters are wavey on edges where picture was bad, any way to fix this?
pls next time u need to show the picture of the screen before working on it..👍
Good
You'd usually see cloudy, purplish stains at random parts of the screen
Ty
How much is the Price of The LED??
I cant get the bezel off of the bottom, is there a trick? Does anyone have any suggestions?
I’d say have a sweat rag near by for increased stress and anxiety during this entire repair.
good
I follow all the steps in this guide but for some reason the screen frame at: 10:30 was not secure and when i lift the TV and rotated it, it detached itself and the sooooo flimsy screen got cracked. Lost my 65" TV. 😔😪 Besides, even although my TV was disconnected like 15 minutes before while detaching the led strips i felt small currents in my hand. So strange
just curious, did you try flipping the TV itself over with one person, or two ?, that's one thing I wish the video showed , proper flipping of the TV to prevent that from happening.. as it looks like a fairly critical job , in the sequence, , but yeah, sorry to hear that happened to ya.... ( I have yet to try doing this myself)
@@tony--james Two persons. What about the electricity I felt in my hands? not once, but every single time I touched the led strips and the metal back of the TV?
@@ronaldd.1355 I'm guessing the power supply filter capacitors still haven't discharged many make, or use a simple discharge device, to do this apparently, but I don;t really know aside from a quick search
@@tony--jamesyou are correct there are two very large capacitors on the back in the power supply... They will retain electrons for a long time and you'll get a low amp 90v shock...I suggest shorting them with a screwdriver before working on it, and even then you'll still get some low voltage shocks so disconnect the power supply from the led distribution strip
From Pakistan
Hi, while moving around the TV the address board got attached to my pants and... one of the cablings cracked. :O what can I do?
those are laser welded. try using conductive glue. be sure to not short any of those PINs togheter
😮👍👍
I ordered some LED strips for my TV. Going to wait until it's not fit to watch before I replace them. Hope to God I don't just F it all up. This looks complicated.
My Samsung is 2013 model.
I’m putting up with bottom third of screen that has darkness but the above lights are providing just enough to not care.
I’m paranoid about messing up the repair.
Lucky I have a spare old tv as backup when this one needs tending
he never shows picture of not working and working
Yeah true .
If you’re replacing all those leds , why not replace outer screen panel to new?
I’m guessing front screen is irreplaceable or too expensive
Yea I’ll just buy a new tv lol
I know. I’ve had mine since 2013, bottom is black with visible pic .
I don’t know what’s wrong specifically with tv.
I’d have to buy ohm meter, led lights , suction handles , bag of weed
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Thank You. This was a very helpful video.
Nice job
Hello, I have a television. I would like to know if the buttons on the LED strips are important. Some of the transparent ones fell off, more than half of them fell off.
How about UA55J6300,where we buy those parts, the back light in yr Video exactly sama, only the different yrs 14 lamps, mine 11lamps
Where we can buy those back light, please???tq
