I just got a new (to me) wool coat and now I have this urge to replace its buttons with something like these. You've opened my eyes to a new thing and thank for the little tutorial
The soothing satisfaction of seeing the progress of pattern is mesmerizing. The instruction you offer is direct/easy to understand. And as for gushing about the thread types... Have at it! You "going on" about what you've learned saves us the trial and error process of searching out "best supplies" choices Always enjoy your videos. Please keep posting them. 💐
That is good to know I wasn't sure if the speeded up bit on thread would come over as intentional and funny or just like an error. I really felt I talked about thread for too long but it is very good thread
That looks like fun! I can never find buttons to go on my knitted items; I will be making these buttons to go on items that I am making for a baby trousseau as a gift for my great nephew, due to arrive in the Fall. Constance, you have one heck of a great sense of humor! Love the way you drape yourself over a chair while tossing back a few!! You're a trip. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, xoxo's Sandie
Oh that sounds like a lovely project, this style of button looks wonderful when made tiny on baby clothes, although I’m not sure how well they are at being washed and laundered. But they will probably be fine on knitwear
Taking notes: Make whole table and camera shake. I have a few wooden blanks just right for this. I will definitely make some! Thank you for the tutorial.
Wow, you're patient, using such a thin thread for wrapping. I made an easier version of this with colorful yarn for a kids coat ones. And that took me two hours, alraedy. But they do look striking.
the thread's just camera-shy! Your videos are so soothing. I like to have them playing in the background while I do things because it's like co-working with a friend.
There s a new elastic thread from Germany called Saraflex and I'm sure of the use for it other than knits abut you can put it on a bobbin but you have to wind it slow or you'll warp it.
Thank you for the demonstration and the links. Like so many other commenters, I can't wait to try this! Love your completed outfit and the library background.
Lovely buttons! Enjoyed watching you make them, and talking about thread with enthusiasm (what's not to like about detailed thread knowledge). Best of all, I can't say I'd considered sunglasses with a bonnet - what a wonderful look that is on you! Cool Constance, just cool.
I would have never guessed that was how that effect was created! If the thread spools were upright on posts (as they would be on a sewing machine) would it allow the thread to spool off without twisting?
Hi. I have a question about the buttons you made. Namely, what are the names of the wooden discs you use to make buttons and what thread do you use, is it nylon or cotton?
As I believe I mentioned in the video The button moulds are called just that a button mould or button form The silk thread comes from DeVere Silks or is vintage The cotton thread is called Perle cotton thread
@@stanceymackenzie HA. It probably was a blooper, but it was cute. Just go with it. Like driving from the top of a hill to the bottom, just take that hill and go with it.
Never apologise for faffing about. I won’t speak for everyone but that’s the kind of crafting content that I definitely live for.
Excellent thank you
Anyone else have the sudden urge to make millions of pretty buttons?
I do find making them is quite addictive once you start.
Oooooh! Me! Me!
@@stanceymackenzie you made it look so easy but I am betting it's not!
Constance, I always find your channel so interesting. Thank you for showing us how to make these gorgeous buttons.
That’s very kind of you thanks so much.
I always love your videos! Every time I think "I want to try that!"
That’s lovely I’m glad you think that.

Brilliant
Missy Constance I now know what these round wooden discs with one hole in them in my button box are. How fun
Iron Cross?

Golly! To say that you are a bit of a polymath, doesn't do your talents justice! Just fascinating to watch, thanks for posting. :)
Thank you very much.

@@stanceymackenzie Ooops! I didn't think about the washing. I will put a note inside with instructions to hand wash the items. :D
How did the Death Head button get it's name? I love these. Thank you for the tutorial.

These are absolutely stunning and, after I do some practice, could be a great podcast project. Thank you for the video 😊

The cotton thread does indeed fill the space much quicker. That’s the beauty of then they look good on all colours
I'd always wondered about the thread worked button and now I know! Thank you! 😊 Those cuff buttons are just exceedingly adorable.
I am so pleased you enjoyed it. The cuff buttons are very sweet
This is wonderful. Thank you.
This was so delightful to watch! Your buttons are stunning!
Thank you very much
Beautiful 😍

That is really lovely to hear thank you.
I just want to sit and make buttons for days!

Thank you
Thank you you've inspired me
What a great Crowley 🖤
Thank you
Love the final shots! Fantastic project thanks so much.
Thank you. The final shots don’t really show the buttons off but I love my Regency demon outfit
I'm already sourcing the supplies :) My new coat will be happy
I wish I could like this video twice!
Very nice I do have a fixation on a few things like buttons and machines and science, etc.
You are marvellous - I’m in awe of your abilities.🦘🇦🇺
Thank you very much

Beautifully done, thanks for sharing!
This video was so soothing to watch, Constance! Also, such at fun way to make your own buttons - will try it for one of my future projects!
Excellent
Makes me wonder, if I do these left-handed will I end up untwisting my thread?
I would have never guessed that was how that effect was created! If the thread spools were upright on posts (as they would be on a sewing machine) would it allow the thread to spool off without twisting?
They would still tangle round each other as your twisting the button anti clockwise all the time. I’m glad you enjoyed the video

Pretty cool. And Minnie Mouse's voice came on, she stopped by to do one also? :-) Levity always creates a fun moment.
I’m glad the speeded up bit was funny I did start to wonder of it just came across as a mistake

Make some more, I know but with a white outfit that would really Pop out
hahaha, not into goth, but those are pretty!
They work well in all colours and thank you
I want to be a Regency Demon Crony
That background makes everything too hard to see
I am so sorry about that, I am afraid I rather like a brown background and its practical for my work but maybe not filming.
