This is the FIRST decent demo on the Mk V that I have seen or heard. I didn't like these amps until i saw your demo. Great job mate. Steve from Australia.
@chasingtone Just a quick tip on your Express EQ. You may try setting the EQ controls at 9:00 and tweak from there (instead of the usual 12:00). The Mark V is capable of almost any sound. The Mark I circuit will give you the warmest lead tone, and you can get some real 'sweet' tones on the IIC+ mode with the EQ dialed in right. We have those videos coming out shortly so you can check it out! The Mark V Equally handles bitey tones, even fuzz sounds which you can hear in our TWEED video.
Hey Don, just bought a Mark V with a slanted Mesa cabinet with Vintage 30s. I love the versatility of this amp and use it for blues and classic rock. Which head and settings would you recommned to get close to the GnR Appetite for Destruction Slash sound? Thanks!
A PRS guitar and a Mesa Boogie amplifier... BEST COMBO EVER in my opinion better then the famed Les Paul/Marshall sound... but thats my opinion so please no half wit arguments about Les Paul/Marshall combo being better :) good demo too btw :) definitely gonna buy one when i can
3:58 - 4:02 I just about pissed myself laughing. Too good. But seriously, awesome review, though it be awesome to hear some of these settings with a more humbuckery sounding guitar.
@hugoalberto6 Thanks for watching! We are covering each preamp circuit in depth. Just check out our UA-cam channel for more. We are adding two new videos a week. Crunch will be up shortly. Mark I and Mark IIC+ will be up next monday (hopefully)! We used two microphones. A Shure KSM27 and an Electrovoice Raven. You really need two mics on an amp to get an accurate representation. At least in my experience! :-)
Great playing and Demos. I have the Express 5/50 112. The clean is alright but the Burn channel is not smooth or to much brass sound and in my face not a warm gain channel, I'm thinking of buying a Mark 5 combo or a Marshall JVM combo. The Clean on the Mark 5 sounds clear clean on your demo's compared to my Express, But how is the lead Channel? is it creamy or fuzzy. Also compared to the Marshall JVM. Thanks for your advice.
hmm i still think these videos are awesome, but theres just too many variables to change the sound of the amp, from the mic all of the way to the speakers on my end not to mention youtube compressing tones soo, i still vote play the amp first before irrational decisions
Had this amp for a few months and I'm still blown away by the thing you can do with is. These settings sound ten times better at home.
"The Look" at 3:59 is Priceless. LOL Keep em' coming.
So far channel 2 Edge is my favorite Mark Five mode for blues with a Strat.

Thanks for your help! I'll have to try that. I've been watching all of your Vids. on the Mark V. Excited to see the rest.
wow - thanks for making all these vids!

AHA! The song Don was playing when he did "The Look" was Led Boots, by Jeff Beck. GO DON!
What a COMPLICATED f'ning amp!!!
@chuck3377 You're probably thinking of "The Core" by Clapton. It's on Slowhand. Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Wait what? I haven't played much with the Edge mode. I mostly use it on Crunch, but that sounds sweet!
Hey this is don over at NPR

What the microphone used to record?
@heartcall Nope. Property of Haggerty's INC! We're ordering your Cathedral Reverb in today! ENJOY!
Anyone know best brown sound settings possible. Also Hendrix tone?
Is that Stuarts background??? :-)
Are you playing any particular song at 4:00 or is it your own thing?
What cab are you using here? A recto cab?
@MuffinKilla111 Sure. Drop me an email via our website.
That thing has more knobs and switches than a fighter jet.
Kinda sounds like a super cranked AC30.
LOL! @ 3:59
