Instead of re-shooting the scenes with the songs, they decided to sign A. R. Rahman to compose original songs to fit in the same scenes.
Violinist, L. Subramanium was the composer. He was signed after Rahman rejected the film. Kamal had a tiff with L. Subramanium and thus he approached Raja.
