$0. Bought a Toyota avalon new in 2014. 60 months, 0% interest, $325 a month. Had a trade in plus some cash down. Only have 22,000 miles. I'm 67 and this might be the last car I own.
A 2012 Chevy sonic. Bought it new, paid off the loan, I pay 140$ in gas and 110$ in insurance per month. Once a year I put about 1500$ in maintenance. Tires, oil change, ect. Gonna drive it till the engine blows then buy a 15 grand used car in cash.
My husband paid 11k for used Toyota Prius in cash and I got my used bmw (around 14000 miles) for 27k with less than 2% interest for 3 years (about $350/month) which was fully paid off two years ago. Even though we could afford nice new cars, we chose to buy affordable used cars so we can invest our money on real estate and stocks. We will buy nice things when our investments are generating cash flow in near future.
My husband and I paid $1600 for our $100,000 denali diesel truck & stupidly financed our mods in the over all loan of $24,000 plus $28,000 negative equity. Yuck never again So glad he took rhe truck with him during the separation

If she has $2000 spare to pay her car loan why not just save up and and avoid getting a loan and paying interest
