I love watching these games! These are much more exciting than current ones where they focus mainly on shooting 3 point shots!

As I 5'4 12yr boy, when I heard them mention Spud Webb at 1:31. I knew I could play basketball with the trees and my basketball career began. 😁. I got full ride in basketball to Morehouse College at 5'8. 6 years later after this games, I was in Atlanta.

Will we ever get real basketball back? I love watching 1980’s basketball, what a beautiful game it was.

Anybody who wants to see how good Danny Ainge was need only watch this series. Dude was on a tear shooting 73% for the series and getting key steals throughout each game and in crunch time. The guy was a feisty competitor but he was also highly skilled and might be a hof candidate had he played on a different team.

During reg. portion, their 1985-1986 N.B.A. world championship season, Celts lost just one single home game;that being December, 1985 tilt w/T'Bl'zr team whose head coach was late John ("Jack") Ramsay, who was in his Xth/last season as that club's head coach. B.T.W., T'Blazers won that game, 121-103/contest was played in Conn.'s capital city, Hartford. Celts meanwhile went 37-1 in their home games in Bos., Mass.'s former Bos. Garden during reg. season. Club them st'mrlld thru playoffs w/wins over Bulls-Hawks-Bucks to advance to World Ch'mpnshp Series where they'd beat R'ckts in 6 games in re-match, their World Ch'mpnshp Series duel just 5 seasons prior (1980-1981) which Celts also came out victorious in 6 games

I was never interested in basketball. I watch other sports andespecially appreciate the athleticism of the Olympics. I love watching these old games of legend. I kinda know who is going to win, but watching it for the first time is like going back to high school.

So cool to see the Hawks beat the Celtics (even though they were a good team and I like them)! I knew they had the talent with monsters like Rollins and Willis, small, stealthy guys like Webb and Rivers, and the high-flying Wilkins. It was pointed out that the Hawks out-rebounded the Celtics and that contributed to their victory, which is totally true, but even moreso: the Celtics didn't balance out any of their situations the way the Hawks did. If the shot was crowded one up under the basket, the Hawk drew the foul, if it was far out, he made the shot. The Celtics were mostly missing unguarded, outside shots, or they were picking up fouls on themselves or missing under the basket. The Hawks were being smarter on open situations and going to each other more in crowded ones. The Hawks were working together more, making smarter passes, blocking and stealing a lot more, and taking simpler shots. Remember, when you score, it's easier for your teammates to rebound. When you miss, that's harder to rebound, and the Hawks got a lot more rebounds right under their home board. In addition to those things, the Celtics just made a lot of repeated stupid fouls. The Hawks were picking up useful fouls that either stopped someone from scoring/attempted to (which was a big deal here considering most of the Celtics were shooting poorly from foul line). As a result, the Celtics picked up a lot of these "stupid fouls"; travels, elbows, blocks, sometimes just being careless and running into a Hawk. Obviously the Hawks got into their heads. Anyway, I go long.

Some Hawks were talking shit to the Celtics near the end of this game, a bad mistake, game 5 at the Old Boston Garden Celtics mauled the Hawks, plucked out all of their feathers and I believe it was the third quarter Celtics outscored them 36 to 6, Hawks weren't talking shit no more, couldn't fly either, no feathers, Celtic's plucked"em all, 😂😂😂
