I bought a 66 falcin with 32,000 mikes on it and put a 428 cj in. That was a fun ride but i was made an offer i couldn't refuse for it at the time. I wish I had said no now but live and learn. The next one was a 68 with Cleveland and autimatic. They are a much more solid car than the mustangs were back then and completely rattle free. A good V8 in a 66-70 falcon makes a great daily driver.
Grew up a Holden man, they clothed and fed my family and the Monaros of the late 60s are my dream car but the equivalent Fords of the same era are just truly fantastic cars. It was an absolute highpoint of Australian car making when they were producing these cars
I grew up a ford man but have a 304 t5 gearbox, borgwarner diff vk. Ford, Holden, and chrysler made some tough cars. I had a 318 vg valiant when I was a young bloke. It was choice. So much torque. Still Love seeing My Dad's PIG getting driven around. It was his company car before he purchased it off them in the mid 70's only to sell it before he passed in 2016.
I try to avoid signing up for anything on the net but I couldnt resist the dulcet tones of the 351C; sounds fantastic ! I was fortunate enough to own an XRGT for a decade; cant see myself owning another one anytime soon so now I aspire to an XR like this one. Thanks for the inspiration :)
12 slotters with eager sf330zz sick! it was awesome in the 90s when they still made the 265/50/14 tyres. Now just 245. That rim n tyre combo is the best combo for an x series.
Outstanding Guy's! Yes, that feeling you get when you have arrived at the Shake Down stage. Face hurts smiling. I fired up the Cleveland today. A' bit grumpy. Need to check the plugs and fresh fuel.
Not sure which is my favourite XR or XT. Do love the 289 though!! My first car was a ‘68 XT 302 Windsor ex Highway Patrol Police Pack. Wrote that off. God what an error of judgment!!
As with the drag boss I have to be there in the first ones to see your awesome creations. I hope to some how get one for my bucket list. I must have a Cleveland one day before I can't handle the G"s a good one makes. God bless you all, have a great evening and I hope you have a good weekend. Thanks again for the awesome footage and and the tuning of it. My favorite is how you say carburator I love it. That's awesome and I love it thank you for your time and video.
Just read your 3 year old comment. I had an XY Fairmont wagon with a factory 302 cleveland, 4 speed, bucket seats & electric tailgate window. Not forgetting the twin overhead sun visors! I really miss that car as well.
I subbed as soon as I saw your channel page. Loved the video and now going through the rest. Good on you mate. Just noticed the name of the road you turned onto - OLD CLEVELAND RD - hahaha sweet!
Idle sounded much better after turning up the idle speed. Do you use a vacuum gauge to set the idle mixture? Ive been doing that since the '80's. Makes it easier to set when your hearing is mostly gone.
Brilliant. I'm currently having a XR GT replica built. Have just taken the decision to go for a 351W (currently a 302W). Keen to know the basic specs for the engine?
Best thing I like about you and the Drag boss, is that you guys take the time to communicate and talk to your fans. God bless and you all have a great weekend.
GREAT CAM! Try a Dash Pot on that carb - best $100 bill you will spend. A dash pot is a shock absorber for the throttle return. It lets the throttle return back to zero slowly so it don't stall.
So I’m looking for some advice or your opinion. I have a Cleveland 4v in my 77 f250, with a few upgrades. It has a Holley electric fuel pump when I got it, is there any benefit to the electric over a mechanical.
So nice to see a fantastic ol girl sounding amazing! And I’m pleased to see it has been tastefully modified and that it doesn’t have one of those Fkn ugly reverse cowls or stupid looking filters hanging out the bonnet! Sooooo many people do this and it just looks like a total wank factor.
hello, so here is the question of the day, 351c in cobra kit car, Charging light stays on, car drop belt the other day and motor died instantly. it would only run if i left the key in the start position but of course starter was hurting/screaming. I installed the belt back on to alt and it ran fine. battery was new with good charge but no belt no run. in normal operation should charge light be on? digital amp meter reads 13.8amps while running.
As soon as the alt stops spinning the warning light or charge light is meant to come on mate. I’d be looking into the starter motor and check no wires have rubbed on your exhaust or the block. I have blown plenty of fan belts and kept driving to the next Servo or safe spot and as long as you kill the car within the first few minutes it doesn’t ruin the alt but extended driving with no belt will fry the regulator and then it will cause all kinds of issues as the spark jumps up and down.
@@thclevoking thanks for the info! I completely rewire car under the hood (all new heat shrink terminals with dielectric grease) and part of the dash and the charge light is now out. now to my second issue, car is very hard to start when hot. It has to sit for 30min before it will start. seams like dead battery but it not as it is 2weeks old. Bat is in the truck. 2/0 gauge wire running to starter. i thought it was my starter getting heat soaked but i just replaced it with 200.00 powermaster and wrapped exhaust but problem is still there. could it be bad coil/getting too hot? alternator over charging system? or second starter still getting heat soaked?
@@dnelson5466 I would touch the power wire with your hand and see how warm it feels when you want to turn it on and see if it’s hot. I’d check the load with a multimeter generally when you hit the key the colts drop to about 9 when the starter engages if it’s lower you may need a relay on your trigger wire so it has a full 13volts from the battery, if it’s not then maybe the trigger wire is broken and when it heats up loosing conductivity. Alternatively if the extractors are too close to the solenoid they jam when heated right up too.
Nice car. The rear tail lights remind of my 1966 Ford Falcon. Wanted to cam it and all but someone drove into the driver's side door hit and run totaling my car. Never got who did it. Bought a 1984 Crown Vic, someone drove into the back end totaling it. They hit and run. Had full Coverage insurance but they don't make those cars anymore. Haters! Lol.
