I'm kinda confused how the game works. Are we on the lead depending on how many coins we get or how many stars we have? What are the coins used for? And when one of the players goes to the boss battle before you, what are u doing, are you doing practice mode?

1. Both stars and coins are taken into consideration when the game ranks your position. Someone with nine stars and five coins would be ranked higher than someone with nine stars and four coins.
2. Coins are used to buy items. For every ten coins you have at the end of Toad Scramble/The game, you get a star.
3. If you are not at the Boss when it starts, you have to mash the A button to get there. Then, the game puts you in at however far the others players got. If you are closer to the boss when it starts, you get there faster.
Also, If you had 9 stars and 2 coins you'd be farther in he lead than someone with 6 stars and 30 coins.
It's realy cool game.
