We Muslims should take a lesson from this. We're allowed to retaliate. It's okay to respond in the same way you were attacked. Of course lineage isn't something that we take as a criteria to judge people but it was a fitting response to those who attacked our prophet PBUH. So we need to stop 'correcting' Muslims by saying this is not how a Muslim responds. It's good to have good manners but in certain cases it's cowardice not to have an equal or even stronger reaction.
It is sad that this reflection you said is not ingrained within our politically correct understanding of Islam. Things were not all rainbows and sunshine
Yes, we're in need of a little of realism. We're humans and so were the Sahaba. I don't wanna point fingers but the Salafi movement did create an idealistic view in some Muslims' minds about the Salaf which is divorced from reality. Some of them literally cursed each other (not that it's correct). Islam, on the other hand, has always been a practical religion. It's not what people make it out to be based on their own outlook. It's not a religion of peace just like it's not a religion of war. Kindness has its place but so does retaliation...@@hazelstratum
