PAINT EQUIPMENT
18" wide body roller frame: www.amazon.ca/...
18" roller sleeve: www.amazon.ca/...
Deep tray: www.amazon.ca/...
Paint strainer: www.amazon.ca/...
Handy paint pail: www.amazon.ca/...
Pail liners: www.amazon.ca/...
3" angled paint brush: www.amazon.ca/...
One tip: Put a paint tray into plastic bag and then pour paint on it, that way you never need to clean a paint tray. When finished, just turn the bag the other way around, used paint will be in a bag and your paint tray is clean.
All these guys make it seem like it’s not an overwhelming job!

Vancouver Carpenter is AMAZING. As a total novice, I watched all his drywall videos. I/m now starting painting and glad that I still have VC echoing in my ear. Thanks, Think Reno!
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account..?

what do we do when the room is in the corner of the room and has windows in two sides, like in a L shape room?
I’d go with the windows that get more of the direct sunlight coming in. My final coat would roll toward them
Is there a reason you cut in after rolling? I thought it was done first.
Are the walls already primed? My sister painted the ceiling with white and was not careful with the roller so i have white paint around the top of the walls. Should i re-prime that area of my walls? The color will be a medium peach. Just afraid the white is too white compared to the primer and it will show
So nice
great video
I once saw someone use a wide roller and use the strangest technique to paint the ceiling corners. He would very strongly roll and ram the roller into the corner and rely on the heavy pile squishing paint out to both sides of the corner so he wouldn.t have to brush
good info
Thank you for this video as I am a new first time homebuyer. I am about to start projects in my house. First one is painting. The walls are hospital white lol. So I am painting them a color called Swiss coffee. Do I have to paint the ceiling too or can I leave those white
Very helpful !!
If only you could come to Singapore to help me.
Thanks
Thank you!
👍🏼
Thanks for sharing.
Question.
If walls are already painted. Do you need to cover walls and windows with plastic to avoid splatter on them?
Please advise.
I usually just cover the floors and furniture when painting ceilings. If you go slow at the edges near walls and windows there isn’t usually any “splatter”
@@thinkreno Great, thank you. I don't want paint on freshly painted walls, white blinds, windows, ceiling fan and furniture.
@@joaquinsuarez125 carry a wet rag around just in case
Nice
Thanks!
👍
Hi, Can I use a watered down acrylic ceiling paint, like at around 30% added water, as covering layers underneath before putting a final non-diluted layer as the top coat? Will the thinner coats of paint underneath compromise the longevity of the paint job even though the top coat is non-diluted? Let’s say I put the watery paint on a wall to cover it twice and then put a final top coat of non-diluted wall paint. Is that ok?
Would a professional painter not cut the ceiling first? Is there a difference as to when you do it?
Up to the individual painter, but if you roll first, you can see how close you can get to the wall and then have less to cut in. It’s how the professional painters I know do it! Saves time.
Firstly I think u cute, your voice is pleasant, so I thnk u 😊
Awww ☺️
Awesome
It doesn't matter what your wife says, we like you 😂🤣
lol good job
Is it necessary to use rhinoguard
Why didn't you get new rock for the lids? Oh nvrmnd, you got a great taper!👍 Just as good. VC is one of the best with a hawk and trowel.
The man is my hero!
Im not a fan of Chris Cuomo, but I am a fan of you and your channel.
Would it not be easier to paint the ceiling edges first?
I like rolling to see how close I can get to the edges first.
What is the best roller for regular ceilings
Thank you
The one I recommend in the video is great, but otherwise I like to use a roller with a 3/4” nap
Is it possible to blend old and new paint? It seems it’s still visible after I did some color matching
Sure, as long as it’s the same base and the same sheen. You don’t want to mix eggshell paint with gloss paint, for example.
Hi,
Thank you for the information,
We are doing a project . And the painter sprayed the ceiling( huge flat ceiling with 4 windows/ 48’x22’). After that the electrician did some patches. My question is, can we roll the patches or we have to spray it?
Thanks
It will never look exactly like a sprayed job, but you can roll it. Best to use a sponge type roller to get the smoothest finish you can. Do several thin coats
Everything I need to know except what nap roller😮
The one I usually use is 3/8
Thanks so much, great voice!!!!!!
What’s with the Bob Newhart bit?
Not sure. Who’s Bob Newhart?
Did you have to sand in between coat?
No, just wait an hour until the first coat is dry
5:20 😢 damn
That is so funny, you in trouble man.
What paint are you using
Ultra hide flat ceiling paint!
So i roll WITH the entry ways and windows? I just watched a video saying to paint perpendicular with window and door light?
If you roll perpendicular to the light entering the room you’ll see all the ridges created by the paint as you overlap, so I avoid that by going with the light
@@thinkreno man thats exactly what the other video said. Im in a nightmare with this cieling. If i have to redo it again, ill be doing it your way. Its big cieling in an open-concept home, main cieling is where i am. Its deffinately not my skill set thats in the way, but im blown away with the job in itself.
The best tip I can give you is don’t cheap out on the paint. Makes a huge difference. You can put 10 coats of crappy ceiling paint on any direction you like and it’ll never look good. Go to your local paint store and ask them for the best flat ceiling paint they carry. Sometimes even one coat is enough with the good stuff
You are hilarious 😂 😃
Thanks! I think… lol
Do I specifically need ceiling paint or can I use any paint for interiors?
You can use any paint, but ceiling paint is flat and hides imperfections better than other sheens
Funny the thing I get it , kind of funny
