The best way to start your Yakumo empire is to capture an empty passives Mossandra Lux. Then spam catches all the Chikipi with the Passive you want to pass into Yakumo, preferably 2 Passives. Then breed Mossandra Lux with Chikipi for that Yakumo. Some good strategies with Yakumo: . Find/breed a Chikipi with Philanthropist and Nocturnal to cross-breed with Moss Lux to get Yakumo with those two passives to capture breeding Pals. Philan gives 100% speed boost and Nocturnal lets them breed all day without sleep. Good for mass breeding a large number of Pals for condense or farm Souls (Anubis/Frostalion Noct). -> Anubis can be directly cross-breed from Yakumo with Grizzbolt so no need to cheese capture the boss Anubis. . Find/breed a Chikipi with Serenity and Musclehead then cross-breed it into Yakumo. This Yakumo can be used to capture the 4 Legend Pals, since they already have 2 Default Passives, you have like 30% chance at 4* for Yakumo to copy one of it passives into the Legend, if you're lucky you can even copy two of them! Also, in case the Legend spawned with Serenity/Musclehead as their 3rd passive, your Yakumo can copy the other passive on them also, make it a perfect Alpha Legend with 4 Passives. . This also works for some Pal that can't cross-breed like Selyne, or the two Xenos, you capture them with Yakumo to get desirable Passives on them ahead of time, without the need to randomly breed for passives. . You can also manipulate the random Passives generated from NPCs to get a set of 4 attack Passives on an NPC, by having a Yakumo with 4 attack Passives, in case an NPC spawned with 2/3 attack passives and you're lucky, your Yakumo can copy the other 2/1 passives on them.
I entirely agree with your analysis, however the odds aren't that great. its 30% per passive at 4* so getting passives to transfer is 0.3^#. getting 2 to cross is a 9% chance, so you need to catch, on average, 11 pals (1/.09) to get the one you want with 2 skills. 4 skills its 0.0081 or ~124 pals, assuming you don't hit any confounding skills when it would have rolled. couple that with pal appearance rate and your talking about a pretty significant time investment; in the case of "Legend" pals on a standard server your 11 pals would cost you minimum 4.8 hours. in the same time you could breed pals and look for the 10% mutation rate, and then conserve the mutation with the 30% parent transfer rate. IMO breeding is just far more consistent. the little guy could use a buff imo. let it transfer the Lord/Legend skills at the current rate, or give it a better chance to cross all of its skills, or change it to "in party" instead of fighting with it. Breeding, especially with multiple farms, is just a faster method.
Do you perhaps know if legend, lucky and the element boosting passives work too for yakumos passive? Like if i want a xenogard with legend, divine dragon, musclehead and serenity?
I used a Yakumo to get Infinite Stamina on a Jetragon to breed it with my old speed Jetragon to get one with 3 speed traits + Infinite Stamina. Very useful pal. You also can get all 4 passives passed from Yakumo to another pal, but because Yakumo adds passives to what the pal already has, you would need to get lucky and find a zero passive pal in the wild AND get all 4 to pass the RNG check to pass to it. It's low odds, but not impossible.
I think the value of Yakumo depends on where you are at in the game. On an older save file you probably already done the work breeding all the legendary pals with the traits you want, but on a new save it will be easier to breed the passive you want on Yakumo. On a different note riding it looks hilarious.
Yakumo is surprising little neutral type with heavy power creep base skills that hurt a lot. I think the real benefit to him would be to hunt for a neutral 0 passive yakumo "if it helps force 0 passives" that way you can speed up generalized breeding for the super late game. A big up-sell for me is actually the feet dragging mount hilarity, because most of the legendary monsters are too large to go inside of dungeons without clipping into the doorways between rooms. I haven't swapped over to a legendary, high tier pal in 2 slots due to convenience. Galeclaw will NEVER leave my party and then I always need a smaller mount in the case that I want to do interior maps without abusing slingshot physics. I personally only play solo and offline due to having poor ping in Asia so a lot of what I do will take a very long time. Anything that can help me find monsters in the wild with preferred traits is worth putting down a few cakes to get a neutral or key passive skill puppers to make life a bit better. I generally don't breed UP when I am making high end late game monsters. My most recent build has been the Suzuke and that particular monster basically requires either itself OR other higher tier monsters which are themselves pretty difficult to find. It took me over 100 eggs to get 3 of the 4 skills I want " still breeding for serenity, though I might just swap in yakumo tonight to see if he can help."
Honestly tested out how to proc his passive, you CAN take him out last seccond, ride him (with a mercy ring) hit it 1x with his skill then capture, based on what I have seen when riding and using him to hit the target the passive procs a sht ton more often than just him following.
This works when hatching eggs, but I think only if you have them out when the eggs spawn, I could be wrong on when you need him out; Egg spawn, pick up or hatch.
@@FanaticPope I got Fit as a Fiddle and Infinate Stamina on Jetragon. When I had a Yakumo with said traits running around with saddle, not mounted. I like the idea of making it "in party" for the stacking buff. even at 4* its only a 30% chance and it looks like its 30% per passive so with some napkin math your looking at less than a 1% chance to see all 4 passives on a pal (0.3^4 = 0.0081) which are pretty long odds. Personally I only see it's use case as a breeding starter since we cant transfer any of the really good skills. We already have all the old passives we need on pals from slowly breeding mutations pre-patch, but some of the new passives are really strong so breeding up a Yakumo with things like Nocturnal and Philanthropist would be a great way to jump-start mass production pals for blending. That being said, mutation rate is something like 10% per egg, so it normally takes less than 100 eggs to get the get the mutation you want; it only makes sense to breed one if your planning on 4* multiple wild-available pals.
About time I saw someone else teleport into a total sshow. Happens to me all the time. Them pals be spawn camping on me, all the time. And they misprinted the lock picking tool as well. Epic level says copper keys still, but I've used it for silver.
