Turang deserves the gold glove at 2b, it’s a total farce if he doesn’t. Doyle should get it at CF - his arm alone prevents so many guys from taking an extra base. Dudes got an absolute cannon. And then I agree Yaz should get it.
They pay all this money for StatCast and analytics, why not just let the numbers decide who wins? It’s like they want it both ways. (The numbers to decide who’s worth what, but human votes to keep their popularity contest.)
I'm not sure Williams would command much of a "premium" in a trade. Yes, he has a great ERA, but he puts runners on, and that problem caught up with him against the Mets. Also, he has only 2 pitches, and when one of them isn't working, he's in big trouble.
That playoff game left a pretty bad taste in my mouth . I think we almost have to go in a different direction for closer . Williams was walking on the edge all the way up to that game with walks and loading bases.
I'm intrigued by the Bohm trade possibility. Remember, Philly fans are ruthless, and he might benefit from a change of scenery. Milwaukee would not be nearly as harsh. I mean, Philly fans would boo Mike Schmidt. That's just what they're hardwired to do.
Brewers have Brock Wilken ready for 3B for 2025, Tyler Black can play 3B but should be ready to take over 1B if Hoskins opts out for 2025. Brewers also have Mike Boeve to play either 1B or 3B as the back up ready for 2025. Trading for Bohm who has shown to be high maintenance and inconsistant would be poor return for Williams. Position it would just be surplus to requirment. Williams for SP would be the best move. The Brewers are young everywhere else through out the lineup. Have to let them play. Brewers need pitching. Peralta has 2 years left, Woodruff has 1 and mutual option, Civale has 1, Myers has 1, Montas has a mutual option for 2025, Miley has a mutual option for 2025. Rea has a Club option for 2025. Add in a pending extension for Contreas. The loss of revenue from the collapse of Diamond Sports Group/Ballys. Deferred money on the books for Braun, and Cain. The Brewers need to get SP pitching.
Looking forward to Wilken, hoping he can become that in house, power hitting 3B. His minor league stats indicate he isn't ready yet. Kind of forget about Boeve, he doesn't get talked about much. Intriguing option. On a pure surface reaction, Bohm for DW seems like a fairly equitable trade. Bohm would provide a high average, little power 3B vet who can hold down the position a couple years until Wilken or Boeve make the jump. Black's defense is reportedly pretty questionable as a 3B option, so he probably lands at 1B.
I like Black in a utility role, but he does not project for any power whatsoever and first and third are historically position where teams have some pop.
As much as Bohm would be an interesting addition, first half this year was great, he very much went off the boil and ended the season terribly. Reclamation again, and it's hardly fair value 1 for 1 so it would depend entirely on the deal. I like the idea (and it's very Brewers) of going after Baty on the Mets. Decent talent with many years of control with roadblocks in his current organisation (like Ortiz). Get an arm and a mid prospect along with him, wouldn't be bad.
Chuck i like Devin Williams to Texas for 3b Jung i believe Jung the Brewers would have 4 years control plus he good world series last year so proven playoff guy
Williams for Bohm would be similar to trading Burnes for Ortiz and D.L. Hall. Not a great deal, but Ortiz will likely surpass Bohm on offense and is already better on defense than Bohm...Williams does have very respectable numbers, it's just so stressful watching him when he walks batters and pitches behind in the count so often...If the team can't get an elite player for Williams, I say keep him until the trade deadline next season, then reassess.
His value only decreases the less control he has. At the deadline there are only a limited number of suitors in contention which limits return. The best time to deal is in the winter.
So we keep developing players for bigger teams? Hader gone. Burnes gone. Fielder left. The Brewers are becoming the Minor Leagues for players before they get signed by a real team. Sad.
Yes, the small markets teams essentially operate as an additional farm system resource for the 8 or so big market teams. Fans keep putting up with it, so MLB INC and the Players Union won't change a thing.

Cardinal fan here. Turang is a no brainer for a gold glove. Great job with the channel Chuck

Do not trade Williams for Bohm. Bohm is a drama queen and a non factor in post season. We can do much better.

What is your reasoning for the drama queen comment? I like Bohm, but I'm not overly familiar with anything but a few highlights and stats.

Devin should command a premium. RHP Painter should be a target of their goal.
Hallelujah!!! I’m favored and blessed with $60,000 every week! Now I can afford anything and also support the work of God and the church.
Oh really? Tell me more!
This is what Melissa Jonas Richard does, she has changed my life.
After raising up to 60k trading with her, I bought a new house and car here in the US and also paid for my son’s (Oscar) surgery. Glory to God.shalom.
I know Melissa Jonas Richard, and I have also had success...
Absolutely! I have heard stories of people who started with little or no knowledge but managed to emerge victorious thanks to Melissa Jonas Richard.
Ortiz should have been a nominee
Phillies have a production issue with hitters 5-9.....Devin Williams certainly isn't the answer for that.

Like your show this is my source for Brewer news
Mike yaz is actually the grandson of Carl
I could watch Orlando Arcia play defense all day long. That was a glove.
I'll take Alex Bohm for Williams. I think that kid will shine in Milwaukee. If Turang doesn't get a gold glove it's rigged!
The gold glove voting or whatever it is, is completely broken. Biased for sure. How the hell is lindor not even a finalist? What a farce.

Dump Williams now- and get something of value for him

Ortiz is moving to SS. Adames will almost certainly be in Dodger blue next season.
@@phatptony who cares where he signs

Welcome to the smallest market in the sport. Its been this way since the mid to late 80s.

Bohm folds under pressure! Last person on the Phillies we want
Like Devin Williams doesn’t fold under pressure too?
