I an from Alicante and I feel very nostalgic about this place at it is my first theme park. Its golden days passed more than 15 years ago, now its decadence is evident. I remember when they first opened the pendulum ride and the inferno roller coaster. Since then, no new rides. Bad economic management, insufient mantainance and accidents has led to very bad fame among locals. Now only school kids and outsiders visit Terra Mitica. Its a pity, so different from the way Aqualandia water park was managed... I will come back this year to Terra Mitica just because I have free tickets
Magnus Colossus opened on 27 July 2000. It closed in 2015 indefinitely, due to high maintenance costs. It has also been removed from their website, from the list of rides
Hi Tim! Just a quick one, my fiancé and I (recently engaged 😉) were just wondering why your videos aren’t as long at the minute 😔 could watch your stuff all day! 😁
My parents live in El Campello and we visited this park from the very start. It was amazing at first and then went down hill and changed owners. Over the last few years its had a lot of money invested in it and honestly it's becoming great again. This is a theme park, not an amusement park, so it's not only focused on the rides. The shows make this park. Amazing shows in the collesium and the deals show. The restaurants also make this park, they have sit down formal restaurants which serve amazing food. Collusus coaster has been closed for many years and that is also stated on their website and the paper maps they give you. It used to be a great coaster, it just need RMC to come and make it outstanding. The water rides which you also missed are great, the log flume and the boat, where you get soaked. Revisit this park on August, see the shows, eat in the nice restaurants and I think you be converted:)
@@WalkWithMeTim yes, its very spanish. As spanish love their food and enjoying meals together. We ate at the one in the roman area in August and it was very good food and also very fairly priced. I would live to see this park getting more money invested in it and becoming great again. Hope you had a fun time in Benidorm, great vlogs! We always go in February with my parents for a holiday within a holiday and stay at the flamingo oasis. That's a great hotel too. Keep up the great vlogs, we love following your channel
That looks quite an impressive place. I've been to benidorm a few times but never ventured that far. Two rides in an hour sounded rapid compared to Alton Towers, where you could spend half an hour walking between rides to meet a one hour queue.
Hiya Tim,it looks great theme park I thought it was good, like the fact they have a lot of shade areas which some parks don't.ive not been to many theme parks probably because we go to Florida a lot, thanks for sharing.take care.
I did Terra Mitica in 2008 and got to ride the rapids, colossus, the pyramid of terror (which was an extra 5 euros but well worth it) and other various rides which you either did show and didn’t get the chance to go on on or seem to have gone forever unfortunately It does look like it’s lost a bit of its oomph since then though which is a shame
What a shame you were disappointed, and oh no, another sky ride 😬Yes, I did look away! You were right about that ride being the worst one you have ever been on, it might be OK for five year old though 😁
Hi Tim you know why you was disappointed? they have no competition, when there is no competition nearby, they know they can provide not-so-good products and people will still want it.The place seem quite empty, i wonder why.Still thanks for sharing
Paulton Park is excellent. Took my son to Peppa Pig World but he wanted to go on the roller coasters. Storm Chaser wow. Spinning and going up backwards.
I don't like theme parks but it looks pretty nice. Do you get weird looks walking around as a lone adult walking around at a theme park? I guess people assume your partner took the kid(s) on another ride?
A quick bit of research would of been good Tim! Magnus Colossus at Terra Mittica has been SBNO (standing but not operating) since 2015 due to the extreme maintenance costs (woodies don't do well in extremely hot climates and require frequent retrack work) so it was never going to be running when you visited, it hasn't run for 8 years! It was originally a Paramount Park but since they sold it to current owners there has been hardly any investment, the park used to be much bigger but was divided into two parks with only half (Terra Mittica ) open this time of year with the whole park only opening in high season, since COVID though the Iberia Park side has not opened which is a shame as the rapids ride was great there. You do need to take swimming costumes for the full experience (it cost me 2 bikinis and a towel for my daughter's last time, I had shorts on that were swim shorts) it was a great day out when the whole park was open but the two coasters are very rough, the blue one is a standard Verkoma SLC which are terrible vomit inducing rides frequently removed from parks all over the world.
Looks great! I love a theme park, but I swear, doesn’t matter what park I’ve been to, if you pick a ‘quieter’ day to go, there’s always a handful of rides ‘closed for maintenance’. Cheers Tim👍
0.34 just a time stamp for my 16month old son who loves that bit of music 😂 caught him bobbing and smiling, hopefully I can watch the rest of the video in a minute 🎉👍
Me and me dad were there on one of the days like that, with a million Spanish whippersnappers running around causing chaos... After being annoyed at all the queuejumping they were doing, we went to complain. They then gave us some form of fast pass thing which was great. Nothing was mentioned at the gate, though. I do still really like Terra Mitica, but its a real shame that its almost been left to die. Both the circus show in the 'Collosseum' and the pirate show were always very good if they're still running...
Hi Tim😊 When it first opened all us locals were pleased too hear about Theme Park and we do get choice of an anual pass, which works out obviously much cheaper, but once youve been a few times things were noticable, rides not running, lack of atmosphere, more boring rides than exciting ones, so we just stopped going. Its sad because most probably cost a fortune to build and maintain, but is pretty boring for a theme park😢
Yes, i can see it being a bit dissapointing when one or two top rides are closed or you are unlucky with a busy day. Other than that, you've shown 6 plus quite decent top attractions / rides. Thus assuming you go on them twice say in 4 hours......that is pretty good value for £25 appx entry fee. It looks to me that when more atmosphere is added by music, more shows, more vendors, street performers etc....that this park could should be a great place to visit.
Terra Mitica was excellent when I was younger (around 10 years ago) always busy, always stuff going on, Minotaur (the ride Tim went on first) was actually really cool back in the day but they've struggled with money for so long.
I first went there when it first opened in 2000, One of my fav theme/waterparks not just in Spain but in Europe! As for Efteling theme park in Holland that is one of my fav theme parks in the world though-Shame when some rides/shows are not there to see/do! Thing I like about Efteling is you can see on website/txt messages of what rides/shows are in maintenance-Gaby said you will prob go there next year 👍🏻
Hi Tim. Great theme to each part. Pity wooden rollercoaster wasn't working but thank you to film the roller coaster you went on. I love roller coasters but need to be extra careful as I have back problems and a heart one to.
Definitely not a roller coaster fan but like watching these mad people that go on rides. We were in Salou just after Ferrariland opened and the ride with vertical hairpin made me feel quite ill just watching it! By the way you've got some spam messages that need blocking.
I would agree, somewhat disappointing. Whilst quite nicely themed, I feel that there is a lot of bare areas where more theming/planting should be incorporated. Certainly a theme park towards the bottom of the league!
Went here in 2019, 4 adults and a near 6 year old and we all enjoyed it, never saw u going on the log flume thing or anything, feel like u like to point out all the negatives about things like the 'what is the point in having a fridge in the room' (prem plus rooms at the premier Inn) 😂
Hey Tim, amazing to watch this video as I used to visit so much as a kid, unfortunately over the years, as much as the theming is still great, they’ve always struggled with money problems and even threatened to close a few times. Colossus unfortunately has been left there closed since 2015 simply because they don’t have the money to demolish it! But just wanted to say that I loved the video and it’s brought back so many amazing memories! Literally nothing has changed in years!
Hey Tim, doesn't look like a theme park I'd bother with so thanks fur the review. Best theme park in Spain is Portaventura and ferrari land in Salou. They also have a great water park. Villamarina club Hotel in salou is great for families too.
I'd say the coasters here are a little questionable, Magnus Colossus has been sbno since 2015, and Titánide is an slc, so it's probably quite rough.... There's better parks out there.
Hi Tim ! This looks like a nice park it could do with some updating. Nice themeing though maybe it could get better in the future. Thankyou for sharing with us. Love to you as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
As soon as I saw the 10 school buses I would have come another day. You are very brave to go on roller coasters and swings that hurl you out over the crowds. I could see the place being better at night when the shows are open. Maybe they need to do some upgrading.
I loved Terra Mitica as a kid! I have been twice and distinctively remember being terrified of the dark ride at 3:30 (I was around 7) which did make me laugh with you saying it was the worst ride you have ever been oN! I also remember seeing this bright pink plastic cow with red hearts and udders on both of my trips and it made me happy to see it again, it's been a decade since I've been, and do want to go back to relive some childhood memories. It's unfortunate you couldn't go on the big rides, and that you was disappointed but glad to of been able to relive it again from your video :)
Hi. I have been watching your videos of Benidorm. They are full of information. I am planning to visit it soon so thank you for epic videos. BTW one question which camera did you use for filming? keep up the good work..👍👍👍
Hi Tim, last time we went we asked about colossus as I really wanted to experience this coaster and was surprised to find out that it hadn't operated since 2015! so I do not think this will work again unfortunately.
Those money off vouchers are a scam. I noted all the bogof vouchers on cereal boxes for Alton towers and the other theme parks and attractions. I wondered why anyone would ever pay full price. The catch is they can only be used at the gate on the day which is the most expensive way to get a single ticket It's still cheaper paying online for 2 tickets than at the gate for 1.
Not pleasant when rides are closed and 10 coaches full of school kids come into the theme park on the day you came. Only if Mr Bean returned on tv to next level comedy and laughter and he visited certain theme parks lol. But a lovely 11 minute review nonetheless.
Colossus has been closed for many, many years. It was shut due to the park being unable to afford the maintenance cost :( was a good woody in its heyday.
Definitely not the worse themepark (camalot anyone) lol . Themeing was awesome some quite unique rides. Definitely looks like a pictures kinda place and rides second. I'd still like to see it. But agree non working rides should be at front before you enter. Bloody great vid again though 👌
The wooden coaster has been closed since the end of the 2015 season due to high maintenance costs so its sadly sitting there rotting away on the cliff side
hi ya Tim, THE PRICE..... it cost you £26 but you had a 30% discount? was that inclued or more ££££. So it seems they even doing it there, PAY your money but not much on; just like when you went to that water park in dubai... MUST PAAAAAAAAYYY £££££ 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃 I think I'll just go to Skeggy vagas 🤣🤣🤣🤣
We used to live in Benidorm and had season passes for a couple of years around 2013-2015 when our son was around 7 years old. However once we’d done all the rides and no new ones were added we stopped going. We only used to go for half a day as it’s all we needed to go on the rides we wanted to. When it first opened queues were over an hour long for the bigger rides. There were more places to eat but they all gradually closed. Shame as it such a big park, was always clean and the theming was good. Don’t think this park will ever be as popular as when it first opened. Brilliant video as always.

Hay Tim the wooden roller coaster has been standing but not operating since 2016 and i have done it and it was one of the worst rides I’ve ever done
Acording to RCDB Magnus Colossus has SBNO since 2016
It's a brilliant theme park, they do need to invest a bit in a couple of more roller coasters or flat rides though
Love it when a Tim vid drops

If I’m honest and it’s only my opinion but I thought it was one of the worst parks I’ve ever seen . Absolutely soulless and dull atmosphere

Looks ok for the price, less than 30 EUR?? I'd give it a visit if i go Benidorm at some point
I went on that wooden rollercoaster like 10 years ago, my backs still not right
Maybe that's why it was shut down lol
Not a bad price. It costs more than that just to park your car at Disney/Universal
Oh it cost 10 euros
Cracking intro music on this Tim
Went here 20 years ago and it was great back then although quite empty
Does look like fun cheers Tim
The crocodile, made me laugh! 😂😂 You were so causal on the roller coaster at the end, you make it look easy , I couldn't do big roller coasters
