You're welcome! Despite the daunting amount of buttons and dials, it is a very easy to calibrate tapes with the ZX-7 and ZX-9. They give you immense amount of control over your recording for a consumer deck!
I just bought a fully serviced (by Dutch Nakamichi expert...Tom vd Hoff) Nakamichi ZX-7..can't wait to test it.. I own also a Nakamichi Cassettedeck 1 ..a 1.5..and a Nakamichi CR-2 .. :)
@@TechieZeddie Nice choice..I love the CR-7 too but..had almost one in total mint condition..in the meantime..I also bought a mint..CR-4 ..and the soundquality is amazing..grtz
@@sunsan997 Sorry, I used Google Translate, lol. I am not a Japanese speaker. The ZX-7 is not DD, but the ZX-9 is. At the time, I couldn't find a ZX-9 for sale. As you know, with high end decks like the Nakamichi, you can only buy what's available for sale. :) I still love my ZX-7!
Techie Zeddie sorry. in Japanese. Currently, many models are exhibited every week at Japanese Yahoo auctions. Currently, ZX-9 is being exhibited. I bought a new CR-40 in '90 and recently bought a 582 at an auction. I am currently restoring at Nakamichi service.
I have a chance to buy a non-working ZX--7 and was wondering who do you think does the best service on the NAK machines? I read about Willy Herman? Are there any others?
I've worked with Nakmandan on the tapeheads.net forums. I don't know if he is still doing repairs. He's just one guy, not a shop. I would ask in the forum if there are anyone in your area.
Assuming you're in California, does Fry's still sell cassette tape ? Before HMV closed forever, I purchased qty. 40 boxes (10 tapes per box) of TDK SA-X 90's, and 100 boxes of Maxell XLII-S 90's. Finding buyers for tape at $15 per is not as easy as I thought some 25 yrs later !
DO NOT CALIBRATE THE CASETTE IS SETAIRN NOT TO WORK I TRRY TO CALIBRATE CHOROME BASF DOES NOT TO WORK! THE BEST THING TO DO IS IS MIDDLE THE BIAS OR REC LEVEL THE MIDDLE AND REC CAL EQ IS NORMAL! IA BEST SOLUTION! THE PERFECK TO HAVE CLEAR SOUND IS TO BURCHASE TDK NORMAL CHORME OR METAL!
toys, the Japanese were smart on marketing, that is all.The machines suck big time, when it comes to reliability, price justification, and//YES FIDELITY!! It is all one biiig pretend!
I just realized I screwed up my left and my right, lol. Oh well. You get the idea...
You rock lady. You are the 1st lady I have seen get into vintage electronics.
The clearest guide on how to do this. Just got one ZX9 myself and so excited to try this. Thanks for sharing :)

Nice! You're going to love the ZX-7, but I think you already know that, lol. You're already have other Naks! I would like to own a CR-7 one day.

Nice machines. I wish I still had mine
Excellent calibration!
Thank you!
ZX-7が最高だと思います。
私もそう思います!
Techie Zeddie 理由は、DDでない為ですね。 今後も大事にされてくださいね。

The calibrating is very difficult!
Not at all!

Fry's is on life support. Unfortunately I haven't been out to one to see if they still have cassettes lately, or if their doors are still open.
@@TechieZeddie That's really a shame. I used to goto Fry's when ever I was in Buena Park/ OC. They had good deals.
Mal for sale?
