    CORRECTION about why we do Tensile Test for Steel Bar:
    Steel is strong in both tension and compression, but it is particularly effective in tension. While steel remains strong under compression, its failure can be more complex. In compression, steel can yield (similar to its behavior in tension), but it can also buckle if the bar is long and slender. Since steel bars are often slender, they are more likely to buckle than yield under compression. On the other hand, short columns (non-slender members) cannot fail in compression through buckling, as they are more likely to fail by yielding instead. This is why steel bars are tested under tension, as it better reflects how they will perform in reinforced concrete.

    Di ko magets. bakit sabi niyo mas matibay ang steel bar under compression kesa tensile. pero bakit sabi sa libro, prof ko, and other vid here sa YT na matibay ang steel bar or rebar sa tensil kaya nga yun yung ginagamit natin sa Reinforced Concrete kasi diba ang concrete is malakas sa compression pero mahina sa tensile kaya kailangan niya ng rebar or steel bar kasi ang steel bar is malakas sa tensile pero mahina sa compressive. pero bakit sabi niyo po ang steel bar or rebar is mahina ang tensil?? sana po masagot, maraming salamatttt

      Hello! There different types of steel. Meron tayong mga steel column, steel bar, etc. So, other steel like steel column, na kapag maliit ang height, na tinatawag sometimes as short column ay kahit anong gawing compressive stress at sobrang tibay. For the steel bar naman, since ito ay mga slender members, ay ang kaya lang nilang icarry ay tensile stress, at kapag inapplyan natin ng compressive stress ang steel bar ay magbabuckle. So, it depends po sa bakal.

    • @cebox
      @cebox  Місяць тому

      So, since ang steel bar ay magbabuckle kapag naapplyan ng compressive stress, kaya sa tensile test na lang ito chinecheck.

      Nabalikan namin yung video namin. Icorrect namin siya, nabanggit pala namin is Steel Bar.
