hello
I find it funny that Lego people don't like it, but the usually very pessimistic Transformers people do like it alot
Cause LEGO fans love to complain about everything. Not to mention they don't know how ugly the old G1 toy is.
@sirtimothy92 Fr as both a Lego fan and a transformers fan I can say I think this Lego figure looks so much better than the original g1 toy
Lego fans don't like a sh*t
Debatable since the Transformers fans are still not a fan of the lack of knees
@@gamerfan5381 I think that died down as a complaint when they kept hearing stability as the reason. We as transformers fans know just how important stability is, which is why they're not as mad this time round
I hope this sells well entirely because I want a Soundwave
i think soundwave makes the most sense out of the main decepticons due to the Lego stance on not making modern military stuff. and Gen 1 Megatron just being a life sized handgun lol.
personally i would love to get Starscream, but i can see making a Lego fighterjet can lead to issues
@@M0torsagmannen i can see star scream happen way more than Megatron.
The Lego Creator Theme is absolutely filled with Fighter jets that are in "Civilian" colors and don't have weapons.
@@GrandProtectorDark yeah i guess it is slightly mroe likely, i dont want to get my hopes up until it is official though.
i want that dino guy
@@estelleoh1652Which Dinobot?
Let's get Soundwave next!
Soundwave superior, Autobots inferior
OH MY I WANT THAT I LITERALLY HAVE A LEGO SOUND WAVE MADE BY ME-
No megatron and when soundwave or starscream
This is a must-have for me. It will look so nice next to my Optimus.
The Hachiroku24 moc is better proportioned but still a solid set
hopefully this becomes a series as a lego g1 grimlock that can be ridden by the g1 optimus in robot mode would be so cool!
a lego devastator would also be awesome but a pain in the ass to make and a small fortune im sure
As both Lego, and Transformers collector I quite like how this turned out, and can't wait to build display this. Bug mode is absolutely fine for what it is, and the transformation is a lot more involved having about as many steps if not more than a modern deluxe significantly smaller in size. Not sure how Megatron would work as I don't see Lego creating him as either a gun or tank, but Soundwave would be really cool. On the Autobot side Cliffjumper would be fun to see as all they would have to change is the exterior paneling and face print.
Lego missed a trick. The original toys had thermally-activated stickers which revealed the autobot (or deception) logos when you warmed them with your thumb. The idea was that, in car mode, the bots were incognito. That would’ve been a cool, cheap & easy detail to include rather than just a regular sticker
I dont think that would be cheap nor easy good idea tho
@@frineythegiraffe8059 they’re just stickers. You get them on cheap thermostats and were stuck onto toys cheaper than Lego. You can see one in shot in this video (original toy). I think it’s viable but my point is moot… the set doesn’t come with it. Maybe I could sell aftermarket stickers and make my fortune 🤭
I completely forgot the 1984 g1 toys had that, lego should have done it especially since they've done it before in the ufo subtheme from lego space
01:45 man those parts are gonna make for some great mech MOC building! 😂
I’m just very excited to see another transformer. I hope we get more and without a 2 years gap!
It hardly looks like a VW Beetle... but it does look a lot like the old toy. So it's a win to me.
I think the vehicle mode looks more like a VW Beetle than the original toy did, to be fair. And the robot mode looks more like the G1 animated character than the original toy did.
I like that it uses the same joints as Exo Force, they were the best for mechs and stuff.
Lego should NEVER look 100% like the source material.
Transformers *toys* should ALWAYS transform.
Hence why I love this set.
What is interesting to me that, If I would see a realistic Vw bug like the first demo by the designers, I feel the model is kind of cheap. I mean it has to have some flavour of character in the car form also.
Optimus is a well defined iconic truck, something we dont see in roads, but a yellow Vw beetle is just a yellow Vw.
And here we have a bulky, cute and different Vw, which at first glance throws me back but than I find convincing. That stylised look in the car form is needed some how.
Robot mode is great. Car mode is rough. I got 2 Optimus sets to display him both ways but I'll just stick to 1 for this one. Hopefully MOC makers make an improved version of the car
When I first saw Bumblebee I wasnt sold on him. But seeing this video sold me it would be a good edition to the collection.
Optimus can have individual fingers as well, you just need to leave out the 1x3 plates that connect them together.
I'm getting it. I look forward to all the mods from the community like we got with the Prime set.
I love LOVE this model!! I'll probably get 2 since I got 2 Optimus Prime's.
Looks much better compared to the old G1 toy. Will have to modify the arms and knees but that's the fun.
Hasbro tried tried twice to give us brickbuild robots that need to be taken apart if you want either robot or vehicle.
The more i see this Bumblebee, the more i like it. Yes the vehicle isn't perfect, but that it transforms makes it good
The next transformers x lego i want to see is THE ONE AND ONLY SOUNDWAVE, looking forward to see how its goin to turn into a radio
It looks so cool
I'd Like a G1 Starscream, That would look awesome !!!
Wow very cool!
That looks very nice
I like the prototype "vehicle mode" model much more as the final product. Thanks for the review! 👍
I absolutely love it, and like Optimus Prime, I'll be buying two sets to have them both in robot and car form.
It's an impressive achievement at this scale. I'm not a huge transformers fan so I won't buy it (I'm more inclined towards the rumored F40) but it's a fantastic model.
I love the optimus prime, cannot wait to have this one!
That is a solid bumblebee! thank you for the great presentation and sharing so many interesting aspects of the build!
BTW: I made a transformer for 42147 without cheating! ...for people who want some pricey lego transformer action.😁
Yup, that's definitely going in my collection. It's good that Optimus Prime is not alone. As always, your builds and opinions are greatly appreciated.
Imagine if Lego took what they have learned from these Transformers sets and applied it to a Power Rangers set that could transform and turn into the Mega Zord like the toys from the 90s. My inner 10 year old would be screaming for this set if it where to happen.
Damn look at that prototype! It’s so much better than the finished product. The car mode actually looks like a Beetle and the proportions look a lot better. The only real upgrade in the final version is the head. Other than that, it is a downgrade in comparison with the prototype shown
your videos are the best
Hmmm… I feel like (myself being a HUGE Bumblebee fan) I will purchase this set. I mean at first glance, it didn’t look too good but after seeing your review, I’m beginning to change my mind… Thank You RB! And I would love to know which of the two Lego Transformers you like more!
I'm not a Transformer's huge fan, and not specially a Bumblebee one (even though I admit the character rocks).
I grew up with the G1 Optimus Prime toy (and a few others, including SideSwipe) but didn't watch the cartoons.
Still, I really enjoy this bumblebee ! It looks terrific. When I was 10yo, my best friend and I tried to build cars that would transform into robots, so this set really appeals to me.
And since there the bare minimum stickers and the price tag is very correct, I might commit on beginning of July.
I totally disagree that a more authentic non transformable version would be better in the long term. I fail to understand non-transformable toys (unless they offer a mad level of realism with micro details, weathering etc.... but that is a very "niche" market IMO)
I really like the car version. Yes it doesn't really match a real beetle, but that makes it even more genuine to me : some TF toy weren't exactly right in proportion since they had to transform.
My only complaint would be the lack of "foldable knees" but here again most TF toys didn't have those either.
But, now, since the Countach is also being released in Lego I'm adding to my "list to Santa " a Lego SideSwipe Transformer !
(or wait for some highly talented builder to make one)
Interesting to see which alt mode they will go with for Megatron if they release him.
My first ever transformer was when I was 4 years old and I got Optimus prime then after that 10 years later I have one HUGE bucket of random transformers
Imagine if Hasbro and Lego operate an animation cartoon about Lego Transformers, there would be two black children in yellow faces, with two or three Asian and Caucasian buddies(yellow skin to cover all races), meet Optimus Prime and other Lego Autobots, which is come from the Lego related products, battle against the Lego Decepticons (they have the Lego products to side with them too) in only 10 to 13 episodes in one season.
I can't wait to get the set! However, I must wait 4 months to get it, since my dad wants to order it from a very specific retailer for a much better price, but they're putting the set out in September, but since my birthday is in October, we thought it'd be better to wait until my birthday, so my dad can buy the set from that retailer
Please Megatron next!!
All hail Megatron!!
Megatron would be so nice
Well, don't get me wrong, but i would've preferred a LEGO Bumblebee from the Transformers movies, like the one from Age of Extinction, when he was a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS in black with yellow accents, or the Last Knight Bumblebee! But i'm fine with this LEGO Bumblebee set!
I think Starscream would be the most interesting pick for the next model
Although I still think that not everything needs to be turned into a LEGO set if there have to be so many compromises between looks and functionality, after seeing your detailed review, it doesn't look as bad as the official images and renderings showed it to be. I might get it after all, but only at a high discount. Too bad LEGO didn't do the new Countach or at least the Speed Champions F40 in yellow too.
Next Megatron
Then good old soundwave
Megatron next hopefully
Waiting for Starscream!
Soundwave and Megs next. They’re both boxy.
The bee looks little bit weerd but it's ok. I want to see the Megatron and the starscream! the two mortal enemies of Optimus and bee, maybe and the Unicron in the size of death Star 😁😁
For the third robot I hope it will be Decepticon! I imagine it could be only Megatron, but in case... Geez, Soundwave
yay
It woud be pretty cool if the next transformers set were one of the fighter jets
Really cool review. I like the transformers. Back in 1985 when I was in the states, we watched alle the time. Transformaers, robots in the sky.. where megatron…. Lego, we want megatron.
That's what I thought it was back in the 80s when it was aired on the TV. Later I learned it is "Robots in disguise". 😁
And as much as I would want it, a transformable Megatron is most likely not going to happen. His alt forms in the old cartoons are either a gun or a tank. Not that it matters much, because "Soundwave SUPERIOR!!".
@@TheNeelonRokkI don’t see why they would include starscream and megatron on the intro of the Optimus prime instructions. We’re 2/4 ways there
@@shaunstorey23 Didn't even remember that part of the manual. It would be going against the rules Lego set for themselves (no (current) military/guns etc). I could maybe see Starscream happening in Lego form, but G1 (84) Megatron turning into a Walther P38? Not seeing that happen with the current catalog of Lego bricks. And a tank alt mode wouldn't be G1 (84). So we'll just have to see.
They should do Soundwave in my opinion though, he's just as iconic and his forms are practically made for being brick built. He is clearly the superior option. 👍
Not sure why all the complaining. Have they seen the robosen one looks similar only difference is at least this one transforms. Robosen who are known for self transforming robotos couldn't even make one that transformers. This will look good next to my prime can't wait definitely be picking this up
My biggest problem with them is still that their legs are locked in a straight position, and not very poseable. Optimus made sense since he's so big, but I feel like could've given Bee joints. It looks so much worse on Bee than Optimus.
Lego's gonna have a hard time bringing out Megatron as it transforms into a gun.
Most of the things that bug me about this are easy fixes (black windows for a start!). Overall it's pretty cool and I'll keep supporting these until we get Soundwave - he should be an easy home run.
So there being already Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. It can only mean that there's also gonna be Megatron and Starscream (which im the most hyped about).
Yes the fan universe.... Called reality
The blue glass is the worst aspect, surely the prototype with the black glass looks better?
5:48 that looks so much better than the actual set 😂why didnt they stick with that
In car form yes, but the robot version is very unstable and skinny in that version.
Don't know why but the car feels like some Duplo model.
why does the prototype at 5:40 look so good though???
I dont think we will ever get the bayformers versions, because i grew up with those movies.
Can we have Jazz next please?
I love it! Definitely want a Megatron next
These would not work if they were just in Robot form. They *must* be able to transform. Otherwise what's the point?? It's right there in the name
There are *tons* of non-transforming Transformers figures you can buy :)
@@RacingBrick yeah but most transformers fans want there transformers to well it’s in the name
I will deffently buy that with another mclaren senna
The other one should of been used as the Lego icons set
Megatron and Star Scream next!!!
will lego want a toy that transforms to a gun? I don’t think we will see a G1 megatron
Megatron will never happen; he literally turns into a gun. (Unless they just make a version that stays in robot form and can't transform, but well that would defeat the point of a "transformer".) Starscream maybe; they already have creator sets that are essentially de-militarized jets. Honestly easiest one would be something like Soundwave.
Looks great in robot mode but for vehicle mode not tat impressive 😊✌️
Shame that there's not a place for the gun, as for optimus. I hate this kind of things (separated items) in a lego model
We need lego starscream
I was waiting for the part 2 of your Lamborghini Countach review 😢😢😢
I still have some work to do for that one
For me, is a great model. I like Bumblebee much more than Optimus Prime.
what if lego didnt make a round non Euclidean design and instead make a tape recorder that is a block????
They should do megatron next or a bayverse transformer
The plate is still a sticker? 😢
The price is practically $270, as most people will buy Optimus and Bumblebee together. Hope there’s a discounted two pack
I just bought new Optimus for 90 dollars, will take this one for 50 one day
Icons Countach review part 2 still pending
It does, because I still have work to do with it
hi
Waiting for a Bayverse transformer. 😂
Hope you like waiting for a long long time
Now Lego, give us Megatron. Yesssss.
I want megatron more than this.
I want the transformers from the Michael Bay-movies. The transformers from the cartoon Tv-show is too blocky...
Samuel L Jackson designs Lego?!
SWIVEL HERE
JobbyTheHong reference
I rlly wish it transformed into a camaro instead
first
it's ok and may be great for children 10-15 years old ..but for adults -it looks pretty terrible
I just wish it was a Camaro
FIRST OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
That’s back looks terrible 😢
Is it just me it pisses me off its not a Chevrolet Camaro? A beetle rip off is an insult to Bumblebee.
It's based on the Transformers G1 characters, just like Optimus
Do you really think they’re gonna make it a different design when they want it to match with the Optimus prime Also bumblebee original mode was basically a ripoff beetle
@@RacingBrick I know its a G1 design but from Camaro to Beetle, its a downgrade imho. Nevertheless, its a good lego set.
ı hate it...
I’ve seen Mocs that do a better job
Care to share a link? I'd love to see those
Well seeing is not the same as building and holding in hand. I have seen a great Tumbler moc, than I saw what the designer write about it: "designed strictly for display". Sculpt alone is not good design.
@@dikenlikalp I like displaying my Lego models I like sets that are complex and accurate to it’s source material I don’t use legos for play I use them as decorative pieces to decorate my home
@@DerrickAliyas I totally get it. Still I have seen moc builders attaching wheels to a plate with technic half pins. Display models also must be rigid to at least move or hold and mocs rarely have that safe and nice feeling is my point. Though Hachiroku24 has an interesting attempt at a transforming Bumblebee, where car form is great but robot form is a lot weaker as a model.
@@dikenlikalp That is true but there are those that are quit solid have you seen The Macross Valkyrie by G_PHY I really want Lego to make sets that come close to that of what he made or even that 3rd party Lego bumblebee from the live action film
This looks like trash
