I can imagine that instead of midas running around his palace turning everything to gold, he runs around blowing up everything, blows up his daughter, then blows up his food.. and himself.
1:56 one thing I feel should be brought up: Midas’ Golden Touch was not a curse, it was a blessing he himself requested after gaining Dionysus’ favor. Lord D even asked him “are you sure?” Before giving it to him since He 𝗱𝗶𝗱 promise any wish.
"It's magic. I ain't gotta explain shit." reminded me of this meme... magic was never supposed to be explained with realistic features to it like in a scientific manner, so it would obviously never work. In science things need to be very specific something magic does not have since magic is most of times seen as something that can change the laws of the world in order to make something impossible possible.
Let's try a version where we make gold by fusing a lot of lighter atoms together to make gold... (BOOM!) Each gold atom generated releases a net average of about 5 MeV of binding energy (mostly from the conversion of hydrogen in the molecules) so your ~1kg duck is now 5 mol of gold, plus a total of 5 mol x 5 MeV of energy released = ~1 kT of TNT.
Maybe won't work on soil and sand or anything flow, fall or slide but if he where to touch solid, rock that is connected to the earth, midas could doomsday us

His skin is touching himself, the second he gets the power, he turns himself to gold.

I think what I learned is with magic, you have to be specific.
That or magic would cause things to go wrong if on a big enough scale

The only thing that fixes Bad science in a movie for me is Magic =). I Rage at the movie if there is bad science in it lol
One of my favorites by Kurzgesagt, so much fun
This is just like the heat problem that creationists have with the Noachian flood myth.
Have You Reacted To “The Black Hole Bomb” By Kurzkesagt? If You Haven’t,You Should Definitely Check That One Out!
Yes, I have:

King midas vs medusa tho who would win? My money is on midas. Just close his eyes and flail until he hits her and she transforms into gold.
i actually love this guy he is so entertaining

What I learned: If you use magic to break physics, Physics break you.

That's why you should wish for absolute knowledge of everything instead
