Mark - I'm a subscriber and just watched your therm-detonator videos. That is so cool!!
I see the links you posted, I assume for the 3D parts. Any way you would be willing to share the electronic files as well? Also, a parts list for the bezels, etc?
Keep up the great modeling, Mark. It's inspiring!
    Dave

      Hi Dave
I got the Arduino files from here
      ua-cam.com/video/b6hIwKizy8U/v-deo.html
The bezels and other parts I had already, so couldn’t say where I got them from originally, I’ve had then for a couple of years. The LED’s are flat headed ones, again I have lots of these in my stash.
If anyone was interested I have a few spare, so could put together the parts I have including the Arduino board for anyone wanting to do the same thing. I’ve got enough for a couple of builds only, so let me know and I could put something together.
      Regards
      Mark

    Well done.
I'm working on my build. How did you make the main body openable? Is it just a friction fit? Did you find a way for a mechanical latch? I'm not sure what to do here. Friction fit seems tenuous.

I’ve redesigned the Thermal Detonator so all the electronics are in the top section of the dome and to make it easier to remove the bottom just to recharge it. I’ve done a four part video showing how it is all done and links to all my download files.

Hi Mark, Really love what you've done. I'm interested in doing the electronics for my 3D printed Thermal Detonator but am a complete beginner when it comes to this stuff. Would you be kindly to drop me a list of everything that I would need and where to get them all from? thanks

      Hi Darren
The board is a Arduino mini pro, these are readily available in many places. I got mine from Amazon.
You will need a FT232RL usb to program it.
Here is a link to Amazon for it plus two mini pro boards.

Here is a video of how to program the board. There is also a link to the code to download.

      Speaker, 1” Mini metal speaker 8ohm 0.5w from”The Pihut”
      Usb battery from Amazon
The chrome 5mm and 3mm bezels plus LED’s from Bright components.
I will be updating my Thermal detonator build. I am currently remodelling the detonator into three pieces with new internals so there are no wires showing when you open it up. I will be doing a full build on this sometime in the New year. Most of the electronics will be the same, just more compact. There will also be a small amplifier for the sound effects, again full instruction on how to build this as well.
All rebuild STL files will be available for download as well.
      Happy building
      Mark

@@ScaleMarkModels Hi Mark, thanks for all the info. I notice you need a switch and saw some micro switches on the Bright components website, which would I need? Also can I pick up a breadboard from Amazon? cheers for your help

If you are using the Oubliettes thermal detonator print as me, you need to use SS-5GLD2 Microswitch SNAP ACTION with lever SPDT 5A/125VAC ON-(ON) OMRON OCB.
Any switch you can use for breadboard testing purposes.
You can get a breadboard kit with connectors and all that you should need quite cheap from Amazon or eBay etc.
I also did a build diary here.

Okay, that uses a completely different switch mechanism to the one I have.
