My general understanding is that Enchantress = late game, Engage = Early, so what’s Thresh’s specialty? He has an infinitely scaling passive like Senna, so does that make him late game? But as Lumi said an enchantress outscales him (Yuumi in this case). Also are engage supports more self-reliant? Like Lumi has said tank supports are better on high ping because it’s harder to kill you, but with a hook that also means they set up kills for their team unlike an enchantress who just supports their team?
Pretty much yes. The general rule of thumb is that Engage/Aggro supports are more for early-mid game. While Enchantresses are more from mid-late. Don’t get me wrong though; Enchantresses CAN do early things as well but to a lesser extent than say a hook would do. On the flip side, the same applies to Engagers, they can pull off nasty stuff in the late game. But as far as overall scaling/power of the champion goes that’s the general overview. In terms of individual strength that is the rule of thumb. Now, that entirely changes when you look at it from a team perspective because of the nuances that go into it both being your own team/comp vs the enemies.
Everything Pari Light said above is correct, but I wanted add another thing, Thresh's passive scaling is very minute compared to the stats Senna's passive gives.
