Hey Cole, last vid I made a comment talking about how these footers seemed like overkill, and this place would be intact 1000 years from now. I just wanted to say, I love this build. If I had the ability and resources to rebuild my family's home, I would absolutely be doing exactly what you are doing. Truth be told, this whole series has been an inspiration for me to start to do almost the same thing. After my father passed from cancer last year, my mother, 5 adult siblings, and myself have all been wondering what to do with the 8 bedroom house on 13 acres in the north-east that we all grew up in. The house is in pretty rough shape, and was built in the late 70's where apparently 24" on center was to code. It really needs to be gutted and rebuilt from the studs up. None of my siblings (or their spouses) are very handy and prefer the city-lifestyle. This July, after many many conversations, I took over the last few years of mortgage payments. I work in healthcare as my day job now, but was a carpenter for about 6 years out of highschool. My hope is to slowly, over time, turn this house into my family's forever home. I could have bought a nicer home for less money than I am planning on spending on this. But I can't buy all those memories tied to this place. I loved growing up here. I don't think I would be the person I am today if I had grown up in some cul-de-sac development, and I am proud of who I am. I know my father was too. I hope to one day have my own kids grow up in this house, God willing. Anyways, I'm rambling. All of this was to say, I'm sorry if you saw my comment on your last video and felt demeaned in any way by it. You are freakin' killing it my friend! You have taught me so much through these videos that I fully intend to replicate when my big project gets underway. So what if the footers are overkill? I'd rather that than the alternative 100% of the time. Put the work in now, save yourself the pain later! I genuinely hope you and the family (and Roman and Justin and everybody else) have a great day! Keep up the amazing work!
It’s nice that you gave Cole a positive feedback. As far as your home goes it’s a lot of money but the memories you will make with your kids will be passed down for generations. 💖💖🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

It's a family operation, the house is on the family farm, and if the farm goes does the house go with it, that's why I said to cut expenses

Howdy Cole and Roman, next time try 3-4-5 for speed -- it works on the same principle but it's way easier to layout. In example, using 3-4-5 as multiples, you just pick a number that work for the scale you want to square. In example: If you chose 6' for the number, it would look as follows. . . 6 x 3= 18' & 6 x 4= 24' & 6 x 5= 30'. . . So then, if you measure out 18', and over 24', the hypotenuse would be 30'. Roman has been a valuable asset to your build and also to your channel very friendly and a quick wit I think you should probably teach him how to farm.
Go for it Cole and Roman 👍 I am loving the irony of all the naysayers advising someone involved in an under engineering court case. The meticulous detail of the rebar size position and shape suggests serious professional advice. I know who I would trust.
Who was the general contractor on the "under engineering court case"? Who signed off on all plans, change orders, and work completions? That's what the building contractor is going to ask the judge. There is absolutely no reason for #6 and #7 rebar anywhere in this build. Not going to hurt anything, but it's also not going to help either.
I have been watching your channel from the start. I was so excited when you said you were going to restore the old house. I love old homes and hate when people completely take all of the older charm out when they do a restore. I am still hoping you will use some of the old charm that was in the home. I know whatever you do it will be fantastic when you are done, which gets me to the point. Winter is coming, which means not only freezing cold but rain, then snow. I know you and Roman can do it all on your own but please bring in a concrete company to finish the concrete. The longer the concrete has to cure, the stronger it will be. Also, you can't pour concrete in the rain/snow. We all know you can do it, but to save a few weeks, which can mean a lot on a building site, please consider it. You have done the hardest part already.

Hey! I'm first to view and comment! Cole, I'm 66 years old and told my therapist about your channel. She gasped loudly, asking me if I said "porn star", lol. She laughed really hard when I explained what your channel is about.
Easy shortcut to squaring. 3-4-5. Or add length for larger squares such as 6-8-10. Just double the numbers. 12-16-20. Easy! Measure the first two numbers along each leg and connect the two together to make a triangle. When the last number is spot on… it’s square. Odd that a triangle makes a square. If you make two triangle it does make a square.
This is quickly reaching the preposterous level 10. Utterly ridiculous. Thousands of dollars in wasted expenses that could be used for so much more. Meanwhile the house hasn’t been touched in weeks.
What do you people not understand the farm work came before the house project. It is their lively hood why are you here? Just to criticize someone that's working hard and hide behind your computer.😡

Roman shoveling reminds me of feed bunk shoveling three or four times every spring. A lot of rain has its issues, good and problematic but never truly bad.
With all this overkill in the movie theatre, I sure hope you plan on putting a concrete ceiling to make it a tornado shelter for your family and employees.
A²+B²=C². This was the turning point in my life. My dad taught me this as a small child because he was a concrete mason, builder, framer. I sucked at math all through school hated it with a passion. I decided 10 years after get my GED to go to college. I had to take several development classes to get me to college level and struggled so bad with math I almost quit. Then I got to this. Once I realized that I knew this but in a real life version rather than a vague idea on paper it absolutely changed my entire life. I ended up with three degrees with one being BS Mathematics and Statistics. 😂😂😂😂
Watching you work in the machine shed reminded me, just a few years ago that shed would’ve been filled with corn right now. Yes, the bin site is a giant death trap, but at least the bins hold grain. You can hardly get grain into & out of them, but so far they’ve at least held corn. And the bins haven’t sunken into the ground from collapsed concrete. That’s a plus. Maybe you should move the bins to the movie theater foundation.

@@Scheffy93 Grandma isn't going to drive herself to the bank.
Great to see Justin. Good hunting! 🙏🙏🙏IRS
Noah was 400 years old when it started raining. I love all the humor regarding Cole's underground movie theater. Yet, young Cole's dogged determination is to be admired. Hey Cole: when GOD directed you to build the underground movie theater at the $7000 dollar mansion, did he state a time frame for completion?
I pity the guy who has to bust up those footings in 200 years lol definitely well built!
Charge up, the lazor!
I can’t wait to be 99 watching this channel as Edward talks about the house his dad remodeled bringing back the mansion to its glory but plus some!
Who said those two will want to be farmers?
You could put a temporary rain gutter on the porch roof to keep the water out of the big dig.
If you needed to be doing office work so often, you really should hire another employee to help Roman. If not, the house may get closed in for the winter snow.
Yes put an add out and hire another person if he has so much "office work" to do already doing a 8 man job with 2 guys then one is on the computer half the time.
Have seen Lots of criticism in comments. I have lived through that as well. I have used 2x10 where 2x6 would do. My thoughts....I can rest easy knowing that will outlast me. As such, I will never regret having done it. Seems in Your case, not only do you get a positive Algorithm, you will probably Never going to live long enough to see your work fail. WIN WIN
Did you watch the attic floor build? They used 2x6's where 2x10's were needed.
It is extremely obvious at this point why Justin left. You are a contractor's worst nightmare with all these changes
Overkill is an understatement! lol 🤣🤣🤣
Better to overbuild for the amount of concrete they will be pouring than underbuild
He’s building a 18 Story Building on all that Steel!
Tight A** Hire Some People!
@@johnbucklerfarms He got burned so bad on the silos that he doesn't trust anyone else.
@@johnbucklerfarmsremember his channel he don't have to do anything that he don't want to do.
should have hired part concrete guy to help would have saved ton of time and money. Roman you need to start your own channel. Should found out lead time on concrete. Ever watch the movie money pit lol .
He is to stingy to hire anyone else xD
Anyone else see the caterpillar at time marker 26.46! I love these videos. Mad respect
I think it is a mouse.
Love it !! So much fun watching progress.
My god just leave the trench alone its deep enough
As always, enjoy your content. Thanks for investing so much work into it!
Cole & Roman - I don’t know how you keep at it! Bless both of you❣️🤗💖🦋
Happy Birthday Zeker. Pouring the footer with be so great. Can't wait to see how much rebar you'll put in the walls.
You know what? Do it your way and enjoy it. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You're learning and experimenting. Have a good time!
You could build a skyscraper on that footing!
That was the hardest way to set straight lines. You have a laser that could have done All of that! And Tarps on ALL sides will be needed to stop mud flows!!!
Cole.... Winter is coming early. Get it poured and blanketed. AND get orange vert caps for the stim wall rebar... you dont need body piercing issues.
Happy Birthday Edmond
Hey! I'm first to view and comment! Cole, I'm 66 years old and told my therapist about your channel. She gasped loudly, asking me if I said "porn star", lol. She laughed really hard when I explained what your channel is about.
😂😂😂
😂🤣😂🤣
😅😊😅😊😅
😂
I just have to say that I watch Cole, because if I say anything else, people think I said something else😂
Cole your not the only one with communication issues with the IRS. We too have had communication issues too,
I remembered to turn off the volume at the start. I am evolving.
I double tap to ff when “Cole the cornstar “ is about to be said.❤
😂😂😂
@@samtrosper7224truly annoying
Easy shortcut to squaring. 3-4-5. Or add length for larger squares such as 6-8-10. Just double the numbers. 12-16-20. Easy! Measure the first two numbers along each leg and connect the two together to make a triangle. When the last number is spot on… it’s square. Odd that a triangle makes a square. If you make two triangle it does make a square.
Gosh... are you a magician?
2:29 Use a shop vac to clean out the unwanted silt.
Lol
Engaging a structural engineer and a contractor for a week would have had this all done months ago. Much cheaper than doing it yourself.
Wow, take your time project.
Because with the amount of money he wasted, he could have hired a contractor and had it completed by now
@@mrsdig57 Because he knows slightly more about construction than you do. You're one of those old cat ladies who's only here to stare at Roman.
@@KPSchleyer this this comment right here is so fricken true the amount he’s wasted he could have done the project 2 times and been moved back in by the end of the summer instead of summer of 2036
@bd64201 What kind of life would you have if you didn't watch other people work & tell them how it should be done?! Enjoy the show - gives us armchair folks & you something interesting and enjoyable! Be Happy
Roman is a great teacher. After he moves on to a new job, he should consider being an hands on instructor at a traid school.
Why do you think he's moving on? He was working for them on the farm before the house built.
And maybe you should teach English at the TRADE school!
He has an engineering degree from Ukraine. Hopefully he can get certified as an American Engineer.
Roman has the charisma to have his own successful utube channel if he so chooses that route. He is super all around talented.
@@mrsdig57 Ahh, no he wasn't. He came with Justin. Roman may want a job with benefits.
Great job Roman and Cole! Amazing editing on the video! Love watching the progress!👏🏻👏🏻
Happy birthday to your little guy Cole! Hard to believe it's been a year already! Also just wanted to say you're very lucky to have a great friend like Roman! He's such a hard worker and just keeps going day after day! Friends like that are harder to find these days. Also hi Justin!
Zeke has a birthday in November, Edward December
So good to see Justin!
❤
He’s a hunter carpenter. No real asset
This is the most over engineered rebar situation I’ve ever seen & I’ve been in the trades for 15 years.
There's enough rebar in that “FOOTING’” to support a Sky Scraper! Never mind an Underground Movie theater. 😂
Showed my dad the last vid(whose construction ability rebuilt 2 homes around me while I grew up)
He said, and I quote, "Good gravy, that bunker is going to be awesome!"
Me-"it's going to be an underground movie theater"
Him- "For the apocalypse?"
Roman knows what he's doing? I thought he said he's never done footings only watched UA-cam Videos 😂🤣. I pray 🙏🏼 y'all get everything squared up and ready for concrete! I'll be praying for you.
Woldnt be as much fun if we couldnt rag cole some .i hope he knows were just being ourselves and we really love him .besides weve got aches and pains which makes us grumpy.weve watched so much the cornstars are like our own family .😅❤❤❤
Roman, aren’t you glad that Cole got the cutter and bender?
The year is 4719....civilization ceased to exist on Earth due to nuclear fallout from World War 3 in 2037..... intelligent life has only just now returned to earth. This new Earth species begins to develop a society and they find Cole's foundation without a single crack....
My bank only wishes it had a foundation like you will have for your movie theater!
Roman shoveling reminds me of feed bunk shoveling three or four times every spring. A lot of rain has its issues, good and problematic but never truly bad.
We've got this bundle, and that bundle, and then just that bundle there.
We're almost out of bundles !!
Oh for goodness sake get your family into the house already. Family first, movie theatre second.
Lay that pad already!! My nerves cannot take it!
With all this overkill in the movie theatre, I sure hope you plan on putting a concrete ceiling to make it a tornado shelter for your family and employees.
8:10 It's when I see moment like these, I pity Americans for not using the metric system. Everything gets so complicated.
LOVE THAT!!!!
Vereinfachung bei A²+B²=C²> > > A=3x, B=4x, C= 5x> > > x = (km,m,mm, Meile, Fuss, Zoll)
3²x+4²x=5²x> > > 9x+16x=25x
Still don't care... did you ever go to work?
I am so anticipating the dry wall installation and of siding installation on the outsid, then finishing trim works. Seems like it is months away.
You guys have made this foundation project way harder than it needs to be...good lord already
pretty sure you are building a nuclear bomb shelter and the "movie theater" is just a lie you told your wife XD
