    The send off is a synonym for a funeral preparation. Hence the phrase “to be given a proper send off”.

    As always iam gathering main theme of poem and poet biography briefly here it’s send off poem about some troops that have just come from sending off ceremony before departing by train . Presumably to frontlines of World War One . The poem has many themes running through it . Some of these are death , strangers , flowers, secretiveness, healing. Wilfred Owen ( 1893-1918 ) he was English poet , soldier . He was one of leading poets of First World War . His war poetry on hot rots of trenches and gas warfare was much influenced by his mentor Siegfried Sassoon and stood in contrast to public. Perception of war at time to confidently patriotic verse written by earlier war poets such as Rupert Brooke . Among his best known works most of which were published posthumously are decorum est , sensibility, antem for doomed you , futility, spring offensive, strange meeting. He was killed in action in 1918 week before war End at age 25 .
