Just… needed to make this because imo the song fits so well with Ace’s character … I cried several times while making this…
I spent like 6 hours editing max but most of the time was spent looking for clips 😅

The fact that it just occurred to me how Ace's little Ship is almost just like Jim's Solar surfer, gets me tearing up hard!
Both boys without a father. Trying to find their place in the world. But end up finding the most unlikely of figures, as the closest to their father figures they ever could have. At the end, you could say they both became stronger and found their ways.
But unfortunately at the end. Only one of them could reach their dreams.

I know the song is from Treasure Planet (criminally underrated movie, BTW), but the lyrics are an absolutely PERFECT description of Ace's life! Thank you so much, for making my wish come true!

I love how you made the “I’m still here” have so many different meaning with each shot. The one with Luffy is bittersweet because it could be read as Ace saying he’s still there, pushing Luffy on to his dreams or that Ace is gone and Luffy is “still here”. But the shot with Ace manifesting from Sabo’s flames shows that Ace is “still here” through Sabo had me shook. Great job! Keep it up.

ik how long amv take and the result is just awesome I freaking love one piece man and I also love treasure planet really incredible choice
Since it is fairly simple editing done with an app, what took the longest here was looking for the initial clips! I like short edits but since the song entirely fits, I couldn’t help it. I do as well, I’m a big fan of both (even though I discovered treasure planet pretty recently)

Damn, Ace is still my favorite character in OP even after his death. I'm still a bit sad about it and the fact he died for character development. But, the fact that Oda knows how to mess with your feelings like that, he knows how to make you fall for a character where it feels like you've known them for your whole life as a friend or as family and know everything about them. You'd want to live with them through good times and bad times and you'd never want to see them die. I hope someday that Ace could get the chance to come back to life in the world of OP but for now, I guess he's still alive in my heart and I get to daydream of all the ways I, or someone else, could've saved him.
Way offhand here… but Treasure Planet came out when me and my big bro were pretty young. My older brother he removed himself from us all… and seeing things with Ace and Luffy… especially when Luffy asked where his brother was and broke down into screams. That grief is painted sincerely in those moments.

I just realized this video didn't even really use Whitebeard. It was mostly centered around Ace and Luffy with a bit of Garp and Sabo at the beginning and end.

I always felt those in Ace’s childhood left his mental health to drown him… I don’t deny Sabo n Luffy influence, but he just learned to hide it better. This boy grew too quickly and was crushed. Not even Newgate could save him rly…
that's what the lack of proper parental care + a messed up heritage will do... Not saying that Dadan was horrible (by one piece standards anyways) but she wasn't what he needed. That said, We love how he turned out and the boys definitely had an influence in shaping that personality of his into something more cheerful and less...fuse-like, but at his core, all that guilt, anger, shame, anxiety about being accepted for who he is, it stayed there....and caused his demise, and to question himself up until the last moment...Such a shame...but that's partly why we love him so.
THANK YOU I'll always think Ace died being miserable and still hating himself. I know he made a great progress and even wanted to keep living but that doesn't mean that deep down, the monsters that always hunted him didn't anymore. His friends, family and crew were a positive influence for him but it wasn't enough, he refused to heal til the very last moment. He took all that hatred that always plagued him during his childhood and teenage years to the grave
