The thing I want the most is for the Kirby developers to experiment with new styles of gameplay like Super Star, for example the cancelled Kagero Mansion game mode would be where Kirby loses the ability to float and inhale enemies, so Kirby would turn into an actual platformer where you actually have to do tight platforming, and I think that sounds like an awesome idea.
5:35 I think King Dedede has developed beyond being a big bad at this point. He's really more the Wario/Donkey Kong of the series rather than the Bowser, and Revenge of the King already did the "Dedede trying to be a villain again" plot. It would just feel like a rehash of Kirby's Dream Land rather than anything interesting. If they really wanted to do an "evil Dedede" story, they should bring back Shadow Dedede from Kirby: Triple Deluxe. The games have been hinting at something going on with the Mirror World since Triple Deluxe and Team Kirby Clash even introduced a fusion between Shadow Dedede and Dark Mind. Having King D Mind invade Dream Land with an army of mirror versions of past Kirby characters would make for an interesting plot.
Personally, I see the opposite way of your point on Dedede and Bowser - have someone else take the villainous reins for once: we haven’t had that in a mainline game since Mario Land 2
@keithmorrison8373 fr not to be that guy but kirby is literally better than mario in every way Story: kirby (mario is the same story every time) Art: kirby (it's kirby bro) Gameplay: kirby (copy abilities are the coolest thing) Music: kirby (the dedede theme is always stuck in my head 24/7) So yeah mario ain't bad but kirby just feels better to play
Kirby has shown signs that he can speak. Milky way wishes. It would be hard to make a wish if he couldn't, Mass attack: his heart spoke to him literally. at the end. he thought the stars wouldnt shine as bright if it wasn't for darkness
Kirby's dream land 3 already did the whole thing with a level having a wider theme where the individual stages can differ wildly while still being cohesive
0:54 This is one of the things I liked about Kirby Super Star back in the day. Not only were the enemies really expressive, but Kirby showed tons of expression in his copy abilities, like how Crash ends with him getting tired and falling asleep or how he blows kisses to the audience in the Megaton Punch mini-game.
Wacky Episode mentioned 👀 Kirby, for many I reckon, is in a state of "I'm more than satisfied with what we have, but I won't complain if there was something fresh and new". It has the positives of being able to perfect its formula to the extent where every title will be of very high quality, but usually doesn't drastically change up the gameplay style to be very different. Though I will not deny that they did not try - RTDL was the first of the modern 2D titles so it gets a pass, TDX and PR had the Plane Warpstar which opened up room for a lot more interesting gameplay, and even SA had a lot of effort put into the CPUs. I think that the best example of weird and wacky Kirby is in the Dark Matter Trilogy, especially Kirby 64. Its environments raise more questions than answers, and have a unique feel that is only present in that game. I would love to have another Kirby game, or even fangame, with the overall vibe of the Dark Matter Trilogy.
My bias towards the Dark Matter era games makes me really wish for a big change in presentation for the next Kirby game. Even though the set pieces ended up being very different from each other, the four 2D Modern era games all work on the same engine and mostly look the same outside of unique environments. A really unique artstyle (preferably one that doesn't disrupt or radically change the gameplay like Epic Yarn did) would be something I'd really like to see. Also hard disagree that RTDL DX is better than Mario Wonder
@@batmanbud2 yeah it was my first time playing RTDL and it was really fun. Also all the extra content like Magoland and the whole side game were great additions
Personally I would like to give a suggestion for both franchises to stop making their level design such stop and go my favorite genres are platformer and beat em up with sonic 2 being my favorite platformer and TMNT shredders revenge being my favorite beat em up both of those are very fast and by that I mean as long as you press buttons at the right time your gonna keep moving forward I like Kirby just a little more than Mario because the modern Kirby games are very beat em up like but to see both franchises combine fast paced platforming with beat em up move sets and combat then I might have a new favorite game on my hand
I think Wonder learned more from modern 2D Kirby actually

Dedede is the Ken Masters of Kirby

That's true, Kirby can speak, but it's usually only the occasional word or two
Pause descriptions as well
He just straight up talks full sentences in Avalanche

About that last sentence, it doesn't matter because they're both stupid good. 2023 was a good year for Nintendo.
