Kerala's alcohol revenue is surprising. The amount that an average drinking Malayali contributes to the government in a year is astonishing. We can discuss this extensively, but the figures from states that generate more alcohol revenue than Kerala often come up. States like Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra get more than 20% of their total tax revenue from alcohol alone, while Kerala's is just 3.7%.
If you look at the numbers, other states generate huge revenue from alcohol, which is higher than Kerala's, both in terms of percentage of revenue and absolute terms. Why is it said that only in the case of Kerala, alcohol is the main source of income and that our economic situation is not right? Is there an agenda behind this? Or are the numbers we hear incorrect?

When considering the outlet data, we can't compare the percentage decrease in alcoholics between states because Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have private outlets for alcohol supply.In addition to Bevco, alcohol from Military outlets also contributes to the pool. Furthermore, Kerala's population and area are smaller compared to other states. Therefore, can we rely solely on Bevco's data and conclude that alcohol consumption in Kerala is decreasing? Additionally, we need to consider the migrant population in Kerala. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
