Lemon juice in water. Other videos say it nuetralizes the crystals/stones. Also drinking lots of water. Ive been cutting up slices of lemons and putting them in a sports glass,in refridge, and even went and purchased concentrated lemon juice if im out of lemons... We shall see. Thanks for video, sorry about your pain. I can relate

If you can stomach it, a doctor told me if I would drink a cup of club soda a day I wouldn’t get kidney stones. I tried it for a few months but stopped due to the taste. I hate club soda, but the doctor was insistent on its benefits 🤷🏼‍♂️

The first time I had one, I spent 6 hours at the ER waiting to be seen. The pain is unbelievable when the stone is moving. The next time I had one, I didn't feel it much at all. I saved it and named it "rocky"

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with kidney stones. I’m currently going through kidney stone pain. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. Massive pain in my right testicle and abdomen, and now terrible pain in my back.

For my last one I had to do lithotripsy because it was way too big to pass. I absolutely respect your feelings/fears about taking opiates and for a normal kidney stone experience, I would agree with the "take only when needed" advice. But, if you do end up having to do lithotripsy, I would STRONGLY recommend you go back to the "get ahead of the pain" advice. That was were I messed up. I thought I was fine after the procedure so I waited until it started hurting to take the pain meds. Well, the pain got so bad I ended up back in the emergency room that night. Think about what's happening there......they are taking one big stone and breaking it up into a thousand little stones. You still have to pass all of them. I have had 3 stones over the past 8 - 10 years and that night, after the lithotripsy was the worst pain by far. If I had taken the pain meds on time, I think I would have been fine. Mine are always on the right side, so I told my wife the next time I get one, I'm just going to tell them to remove the kidney! People live with one all the time!! LOL. It's just a horrible experience and I'm sorry you are going through it again. I will be praying for it to go as smoothly as possible. Hang in there!!!

I am so glad people like you are sharing your advice Anthony. Many, many thanks for sharing your experience. I will definitely take your advice if it comes down to Lithotripsy. I'm having my CT scan today, so soon I'll know what I'm facing. Again - I appreciate your input.

Thanks for the info! It’s been about a year and a half since my first stone. Here I am again with the second. I am about a level 9 on the 1-10. It’s the OMG level. Acetaminophen does nothing but the ibuprofen helps. This pain has lasted 12 hours so far and it’s bad. Just took 1 ibuprofen and 1 acetaminophen. I have read they are supposed to compliment one another….we’ll see.👍

They are horrible, had lithotripsy in May on both sides a 5mm on left and a 7mm on the right and they put stents in both sides. At 72 this is not good, have passed smaller ones before but when they get a certain size they have to do surgery. So fearful of going thru it again. Dr. Said no dark sodas like Coca-Cola and no salt. I don't add salt to my food but it's in just about everything we eat. Hope u feel better Tony

Unless you have a risk of easily being addicted to things, it shouldn’t get you hooked because it’s not like you will be taking the pills for months at a time. Most of the people who get hooked is because they have to take it for long term pain.

I get the all the time. I'm 29 and have had about 2 a year since I was 18. It never hurt to pee them out but the back pain is what's bad bad bad. Plus the constant feeling like I had to pee and the urge to constantly move to find a comfortable position even though I know I won't find one. I'm so sorry you went through that. Hopefully they won't keep on coming back but usually they do. Last time I had one it was 6mm. The Dr scheduled surgery and I freaked out and didn't go. I ended up passing it the next day without pain. THANK GOD! Also, kidney stones can be caused by different things. You can take the stones to a urologist and get them analyzed to find out the cause. Some can come from calcium build up some from oxalates. Google high oxalate foods and try to avoid them. I think some foods on the list were wine strawberries chocolate broccoli I forget what else. I wish you luck finding something to keep them away

Well, that doesn't sound like much fun. I'll say a little prayer for you. I have to count my blessings; I'm in my 60's, haven't taken any drug other than the occasional aspirin in over 35 years, and haven't been to a doctor in over 25 years.

Wow feel better I never had them but I know about them it sure sucks. Do you drink a lot of ice tea, Ice Tea many times can cause stones.

Thanks for the message Art. No - I'm not a big tea drinker, but I do eat a lot of spinach and almonds. Believe it or not (I had no idea) those healthy foods can cause buildups of oxalate that can cause stones. Good grief.

Tony, my husband gets kidney stones and I know the amount of pain he is in. He found out that his were calcium stones, that there was too much calcium in his system. He had an enlarged parathyroid gland that was producing too much calcium. So, he had surgery to remove one of the glands and he is doing well with a lot less stones. Your doctor can check the composition of your stones to see if they are made up of calcium and then check your parathyroid. Good luck to you. We know what you're going through. 😀

Feel for you Tony, the pain is very often described as 'close to childbirth' as a guy can get.
I had the pain following a return to work after a three month confined to bed due to a RTA.
Check out 'The umbrella treatment for Kidney stones' on line as this was the remedy for me, after is was like passing 'razor-blades' I kid you not. Here's hoping you have a favorable long term outcome, get off the 'coke' & drink water would be one suggestion for sure. atvb t ..

I had two trying to pass last year. Never had them before and never had that much pain. The GP gave me the same meds as you but I couldn't stand the pain so I went to a urologist. After getting an x-ray the urologist scheduled a removal for the next day. It didn't cost me that much as the insurance covered most of it. I feel your pain and know what it is like. If you can hang in there great but I had one that was too big to pass and had to come out by laser. Good luck.
