    Pretty cool to see the frozen and flowing falls. Looks like the snow and winter have found you. I think we are starting to see the winter slowing and the days getting warmer. Great lunch spot. Awesome comparison photo too. Take care and have a great day.

      It was pretty wild to see. I don’t get to see them frozen very often.
      I seen some of your trip. Snorkeling and enjoying the beautiful weather. Looked like a lot of fun

      @BackpackingWithJason Not been back there since. Had a short trip back to foothills to fill in a fire closure from a thru hike down there.
      Usually hit it every month or two for a short trip since it's so close to the house. I'm sure it's vastly different now though with these temps.

    Big fan of both it gives even more reason to get out in different seasons. Pretty cool having the guys in the distance for scale that was a huge frozen fall.

    Man the gorge is so beautiful with snow. I’ve never been able to be down there when it’s snowed. Love the frozen waterfalls. Can’t wait to get back there

      This is in Southern Kentucky. Van Hook Falls area. Close to Tennessee. There’s lots of waterfalls and camping areas but everything was frozen. Pretty cool to see. Would love to show you this area one day 😁

    I missed out on our BRIEF winter 😢. Its been so warm, that I'm already feeding the bees! Hopefully I'll get a chance for a snow trip in the next month, before it's all over

    Totally beautiful. Back in the 90s snowmobiling in Vermont I used to go to a waterfall between Killington and Rutland called Wheelerville falls( not sure of the spelling). It’s wasn’t very wide but it had 3or4 drops. The way ice and snow formed was spectacular. The water would intertwine and flow in various ways depending on the weather that time of winter, it was beautiful. You would love it. I think the proper convocation is better than straight water or ice.

      I bet wintertime in Vermont is awesome. I’ve been in Vermont backpacking in the summer but I bet wintertime is magical.

    Beautiful scenery Jason! Crazy how frozen everything is in your neck of the woods! Also crazy to think people climb frozen waterfalls with spikes and ropes. I'll pass on that lol.

      I’ve seen frozen waterfalls before, just not at Van Hook Falls. It was pretty wild to see.
      We was definitely toking and there might have been some shrooms involved too. Lol.

    I think it might have been colder down there than it’s been up here in NH , it’s been plenty cold but we haven’t had a day below zero yet. The Gorge looks awesome with the snow and ice.

      It was staying in the negatives. That day it got up to 12 degrees. It’s in the 50’s now. lol. I’m glad I got to see it before it melted away.

      It stayed around-5 degrees Fahrenheit for a few days. It sure was beautiful to see

    We used to do this all the time growing up in Ohio....Down here in the South, where we barely have winter, they close off all the accesses, you can't even get to a lot of them... Enjoy !

    the frozen waterfall has a beauty all of its own but the running waterfall is nicer with the sounds of falling water mate

      I think it was 12 degrees that day. Every waterfall was frozen. It was pretty cool to see.

    Jason, great video as usual. Taking a backpacking trip to RRG next weekend and haven’t put together a plan yet. Heading down Friday after work and hiking Saturday and Sunday. Any suggestions?

      @@BackpackingWithJason it’s not my first time. However I’m taking three of my kids, and it’s their first time. Their ages are 16,12,& 12 possibly by nephew who’s 10.

      @jachenault I’d do Auxier Ridge loop and stay out there one night. And go see Grays Arch and Corrosion Cove and go stay out at Hanson’s Point for the second night. You’ve probably seen those areas but I think the kids would enjoy seeing those spots.
