This is Sammy from the pickle eating competition. This is such an awesome video and you motivated me to push through! Glad I got to meet you and that you got to check out picklesburgh!
Like, did our man actually think he was going to get away with it? Hundreds of people watching, probably half with cameras, the people giving the pickles, the EMTs in case of emergency, the judges; all staring him straight in the face. Even if he'd somehow "won" it would have lasted 10-seconds until half the crowd went, "Bros got pickles in his shirt!" Like, I've seen two-year-olds do a better job of cheating.
Your content is so wholesome and honestly I can’t get enough. I’m so excited to have someone like you to make content. I hope you’re having fun filming.
he's a ryan trahan clone. down to the breathy laugh even. its kinda shameless but 🤷♂. probably not entirely intentional, most likely just grew up watching ryan & subconsciously molded his style around him.
I love how genuine this whole video was. You went out of your comfort zone multiple times to try and understand something other people love. All the while, you're being supported by a community that loves that thing and wants to share why with you in hopes that you'll find a place there. Even though they wanted you to end up liking pickles, no one was gonna be mad at you if you didn't, they just wanted to cheer you on. Your openness to trying to understand pickles lovers' love for pickles and their desire to help you on that journey was unexpectedly beautiful. And at the end of the day, everyone went back to their lane with a better understanding of each other.
My parents moved to Pittsburgh now we go to pickles-burgh every year. Good to see it get some recognition! Glad you learned to love the pickle lifestyle ❤️
That's the Spirit . Its not the vinegar drenched behemoth cucumbers that make it fun . It's the people, the camaraderie , and the life experience. The huge spicy cucurbitaceae are just the window dressing to a good time.
I couldn't ever imagine doing this with a food I dislike. Like if there was a shrimp convention, trying all kinds of foods with the ingredient let alone competing. I wouldn't be able to get through the day. And you had 2 whole days of pickles. I'm pretty impressed!
i remember when i visited my best friend in america and their family took me out bowling, their dad announced to everyone we met there that i had never had fried pickles before (its not a thing in the netherlands haha) and EVERYONE acted like i personally insulted their dogs, but they were still kind about it. and i tell you , i actually quite licked it! and the ranch sauce taht came with it also was quite nice, which is something i also never tried before.
You must’ve went on the first day during the week. During the weekend this event was/is a MADHOUSE. Like 1-2 hour lines for EVERYTHING. Glad to see you come to my hometown though!
This looked like so much FUN! When I was younger I remember going to a garlic festival in Stroudsburg, PA and it definitely had this vibe!! Garlic and potato pierogies just slathered in fried onions and garlic cloves, the pretzels MMM 😊, and “Chocolate covered garlic clove” is a flavor that no amount of therapy will make me forget 😅 wish we’d grabbed the garlic soap!
I hope they still do the garlic festival, I'd love to go! I absolutely love garlic. I frequently eat a whole raw clove sometimes just for the flavor lol
Never really thought about going to Pittsburg, but now I want to go for this festival. It seems so fun and I love pickles. It's cool you tried to get yourself to like pickles and even did pretty well on the last two competitions. Fun video Dylan :)
I've got to give you lots of props👏 for entering 3 contests involving eating, drinking, and bobbing for pickles when it is the one thing you hate. If it was me and my most detestible vegetable ever the onion, I would never have made it up the first step on stage and not think twice about it. As a matter of fact, just thinking of being at a place where I'm surrounded by onions and people breathing onion on me makes me very queasy. Btw, a good crunchy garlic dill is rare to find in case you've changed your mind on pickles. But, seriously, I doubt it😉.
I’m from pittsburgh and I LOVE picklesburgh and pickle ice cream is like one of my favorite things ever. I’m glad u tried new stuff and enjoyed pickleburgh
Wow Dylan, you sure know how to get yourself into a pickle............. I'm sorry........ and to meet the CEO who clearly at the festival is a big Dill ..... I'm sorry again.
Dylan, i love your sense of humor. Try a sweet pickle. Try some little petite ones, sweet or dill. Theyre crisp and not so squishy and maybe you'll like one or the other. Probably not, but those would be the best pickles to try as a last chance to maybe aquire the taste. Keep up the great content!
you should make going to festivals centered around one food/fruit/vegetable a series! You could go to the garlic festival in gilroy or spam jam in hawaii!
Crazy how I just found your channel 😁 not sure if you’ll see this but love the vids …it’s like Chillen with a homie as he has adventures …. Can’t wait to binge subbed!
You are my new fav channel cause what do you mean you attended a festival for the food you ate but even went as far as competing and actually doing decent lol
Hey Dylan `love watching your videos , yes I love picklels anyway there are different types of pickles besides Dill there is sweet pickles bread & butter pickles and even pickles with heat maybe there is a pickle out there that you may like get out of your comfort zone try other flavors ! cant wait to see more of your content!
🥒It took me to be 28 years old to finally love eating pickles especially Honey Butter pickles from Target and Garlic Pickle Chips from Stater Bros are my favorites😮
You'll need to travel to Mt. Olive, NC where Mt. Olive pickles are made, on New Year's Eve they do a pickle drop just like Time Square does the ball drop.
u should go to a la tomatina festivle i just learned abt it in Spanish class it would be so cool plus I was thinking what festivle's food id hate and thought of tomatoes!!!
10:54 I know him! Sadly enough, I can’t remember where I know him from. I don’t know if he has a restaurant downtown or if he was a teacher. This is going to bother me now lol now I have to share this video with all of my friends back home and find out who this guy is.
i'm hoping to make it to the festival next year and I love, love, love, love, love, pickles and all shapes and sizes😂😉❤my husband & kids loathe pickles!
As an Australian I could not understand how Americans add pickles to so many things. But then I traveled to Korea and learned to enjoy picked things. Now I enjoy pickles and, since I live in America, eat them regularly. I still think they ruin burgers and sandwiches, so order them on the side.
Not sure if you’ve ever heard of the brand Mt. Olive Pickles…but there’s a town called Mount Olive in North Carolina and they make those pickles, I live close by to that town and they have a pickle festival every year and many people travel to show up. This year they had more than 60,000 people
Id argue that the Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival is the weirdest festival, in the US anyways. The Phuket Vegitarian Festival in Thailand where people shove swords through their faces is arguable the weirdest.
This is Vinny from the pickle eating competition. It was great to meet you man, I’m glad you had a great time!
Omg your were awesome!!
VINNY
LETS GOOOO
You are amazing
Yo

@@Goldenkitten1 He's clearly doing it jokingly my dude, it ain't that deep.
As someone who lives not far from Pittsburgh, I have been to Picklesburgh once in my life and enjoyed every second of it.
Your content is so wholesome and honestly I can’t get enough. I’m so excited to have someone like you to make content. I hope you’re having fun filming.
Dylan seems like the most genuine UA-camr of all time

The way Mr. Pickle came up to you and brought you back like that was straight out of a movie haha dudes giving me mob vibes!
I like pickles but even I gotta admit eating that much or drinking that much pickle juice in ONE SITTING would be a LOT.
I could never drink pickle juice
Omg this looks like it was so much fun! And meeting Jeremy the Picklesburg CEO!
I thought I'd love pickles, this video proved me wrong. I'm just a casual pickle eater.
I'd eat fried pickles
Same here 😂
😂😂
As a fellow pickle hater, much respect to you for doing this, I was gagging right along side of ya
Same haha
I couldn't ever imagine doing this with a food I dislike. Like if there was a shrimp convention, trying all kinds of foods with the ingredient let alone competing. I wouldn't be able to get through the day. And you had 2 whole days of pickles. I'm pretty impressed!

Being from Pittsburgh I am much more sad I missed Picklesburgh this year now knowing you were there and I missed my chance to meet ya.
Your vids genuinely make me smile. Thanks, bro
This looks like so much fun! I love how welcoming everyone was to the pickle hater xD. And Dylan ate so many pickles at the end there, holy moly!
You must’ve went on the first day during the week. During the weekend this event was/is a MADHOUSE. Like 1-2 hour lines for EVERYTHING. Glad to see you come to my hometown though!
We were there the entire weekend! We just really lucky with meeting Jeremy so we got to avoid a lot of lines!

My elderly calico cat is named Pickles but I also hate the taste of pickles, so I literally simultaneously love and hate pickles! 🥒😹
I'm all about pickle juice as a brine, or even drizzled on stuff but yeahhhh I can't eat a pickle - gag.
I'm from here and I've never been because I also hate pickles lol
you should make going to festivals centered around one food/fruit/vegetable a series! You could go to the garlic festival in gilroy or spam jam in hawaii!
Dylan... More like DILLan (in spirit for the pickles!)

Hi Dylan, glad you had a great time in Pittsburgh. I'm from Greensburg about an hour away and I enjoy watching g your videos.
As a Brit, I'd be so disappointed if I went to a pickle festival and they only had gherkins. So many other good things to pickle out there, guys!
This is some extreme exposure therapy
