Have to say, with the many troubles PSA is going through at the moment many shops refuse to buyback slabs at the moment, they are having trust issues. But overall slabs are slowly getting more popular.
Japanese people are more players than collectors. In that sense slabs don’t really make sense to them. You see them same thing with mangas, people in the west collect them, but here they read and sell them back almost right away (no storage space)
I picked up the lucario v prize card from the lucario hyper rare event (timestamp 3:14) in a psa 10 not so long ago! One of my favorite cards in my collection!
The difficulty here is that, graded cards not being that popular, stores are having a hard time filling up their shelves, so let alone getting sets of slabs altogether xD
Love the video! I'm visiting Tokyo soon and apart from this store, are there other stores you recommend for psa graded slabs with a good selection and price?
@@PokeNickinJapan Thanks! Was wondering if I should bring my english cards, but if there's no market for it, makes more sense just to buy Japanese there.
@ Excatly, this, plus the fact that English products, whenever they are sold in Japan, are usually sold cheaper than in the US or UK. So even if you managed to sell them here, you’d probably not get as much money as you would selling them in your home country.
Honestly, it really depends on the store, but if you don't speak Japanese and just start filming in the stores, you might be asked to stop. Many stores don't want people to film, mostly for their customers privacy (which is a big deal here). I always ask for permission before filming, that's how I can get close up shots of all the showcases. But I've been denied the authorization quite a few times. Also many stores are very small so you must be mindful of that. My advice is be respectful, ask for permission, even if in English, many store owners will be able to tell you OK or "Dame" (Japanese word for "Sorry buddy but no"). Tokyo and especially Akihabara is full of card shops so if you get rejected in one place, just try the one next door.

No, and it’s not only them. In Japan you’ll have a really hard time finding anything else other than PSA. Even BGS is tough to find. The only place I know that has ARS is Bee Honpo, but slabs aren’t their big thing.
I just want to add, as specified in the description, that this tour has been filmed earlier this year before many of these cards crashed in price. Prices have gone down since :-) But it remains true that overall slabs in Japan aren’t cheap.
This is an awesome video, so happy to see slabs catching on in Japan

@@PokeNickinJapan I understand, there's a cultural gap. But I imagine there are a lot of Japanese collectors too, even if the % might not be as high.
Enjoyed this! I was just there over the New Year. That shop is epic! Keep up the positive vibes
Thanks! Did you happen to pick something up there? :-)
Your channel is literally my favourite ❤
When I think about all the competition, I really appreciate the compliment :-D
Thank you! I am going to Japan in 4 days and this is just what I needed!
Great! Glad to be useful :-)
Thanks, you just made my friday better! Good video too❤ Greetings from Germany❤
Thanks man! I’m glad to hear that :-) Greetings from…well… you know where :-D
Another Friday, another great video from Nick! Big fan of your content, even though I don't buy graded cards.
Thanks! Your enthusiasm is very much appreciated! :-)

A lot of people look for sequential sets here in the U.S. they’ll actually go for more, usually

Im going to be in Tokyo in july, is this shop still there? 😊
It is but the address as changed as they moved closer to the station. If you can reach out on insta will share the new address with you.
This shop just moved to Akiba1131 Building (9th floor) .
Thanks for the info. I know they have 2 locations in Akiba, didn’t know this one moved. Will give them a call and changed the address accordingly ;-)
@@PokeNickinJapan keep up the good work. It does help me a lot in searching Pokémon cards in Japan. Especially in Tokyo…
Do you know if they happen to have one piece cards or one piece graded cards?
They do yes, in their new location which I will showcase once I’m back in Japan :-)
Hi mate, can you write me a list of graded card shops modern and vintage please im going in a month
Hi! Sure I’ll be happy to help :-) could you please get in touch with me via instagram?
good prices over there
Yes it is quite affordable, unlike most slabs over here
Do they buy english graded cards?
I’ve never seen any English card there so I would assume they don’t. Like 95% of the stores in Japan.

As a foreigner who is going to visit japan soon, how difficult will it be to do a vlog while i there in different stores?
