This by far one of the most iconic Clint Eastwood scenes in his entire career. Ageless. You can just feel the dire rage in Josey Wales when he finally confronts the man who killed his family and had driven him insane. It's right up there with end of the good, the bad and the ugly.
Clint, hero to me for all time. This film, he was just 46 when he made it. Showed what was in the tank, great director, actor, producer. Last living legend in film. In the eye since the mid 1950s, no living film actor can compare
Nice piece of psychological play .. to let a man know he is about to die and then get him to stab himself... the final blink of the eye by Jose is symbolic of him shaking himself out of his driven hatred into a more gentler soul.. pure brilliance..
For a movie with so many Brilliant Timeless and just plain Awesome "One Liners" (second only to the original Predator) the fact the he conducts the movie's Climax and fulfilling his need for revenge by finally killing Capt Redlegs with absolutely no dialogue is ironic and pure Genius on his part
Erik Edmonds What dialogue could have possibly been enough for a situation of such intensity? The lack of dialogue said more than enough as you clearly agree. Genius!
You've got to wonder what made Captain Terrill such an evil, murdering bastard. Maybe he lost family during Bleeding Kansas, maybe he was a brigand before the war and the war gave him justification and an outlet for his violence. Or maybe he was just born mean. Either way, he's a perfect foil for Josey Wales, both men shaped by violence and driven by a need to finish the business one way or the other. But Wales gets to move on and live a life of peace. Would Terrill have taken the same opportunity were their positions reversed? Probably not.
@@FasonJontana So he's a traitor for avenging his family's death? if they never killed his family I'm sure he would have remained loyal to the Union, this happend alot including to Cole Youngers father who was a UNION supporter and was killed by a UNION soldier which made his son join the Confederate Army.
Josey had a decent size knife, used it when slicing a cut to make a blood covenant with ten bears. Should have used that to jam up under the chin of cpt. Terrill when he drew his sabre, game over.
I don’t know how common it was with others but ol Clint kept using the same actors in different movies. Including this guy. I think he was with that baboon one 😂

The hell you on about? You even know the definition of propaganda? What political motives could they possibly be try to promote lol. It's just a story from a book. You're just moaning about nothing.
How was it the worst finale?! It's the most memorable, other than High Plains Drifter maybe, and that was just pure revenge, this is more about life after the war.

This is honestly my favorite western ever and this one scene is just so fucking badass, it hurts. That fucking silhouette...

Josey Wales and the Heroes of Confederacy live on.🙏🙏🙏
I love that last blink of the eyes, thats when Josey Wales the farmer came back from the abyss of hatred he almost drowned in.

They that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Therefore he became obedient unto death so that he might destroy him that has the power of death which is the devil
Darn, I thought he was going to spit tobacco juice on his head.
😂😂😂
Red Legs also got the sharp end in Deliverance…but from behind courtesy of burt reynolds.
Dude just plays a fucker in every movie 😂. Hate him every character
one of the best scenes in the movie
Love the blink, like a spell or trance has ended... or a long, very bad nightmare.
Josey Wales a great American hero
False! Josie Wales did not make peace with the blue coats. Although he had a valid reason, he was actually a traitor to America.
@@FasonJontana hood point but what about Jesse and Frank James they're hailed as folk heroes

A long sword is a bad option in close quarters..
Nathan Bedford Forrest would argue with you about that
Primero leí el libro después vi la película.
Mientras leía el libro nunca pensé en otro actor para el papel... Un personaje a su medida 👍👍👍🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Clint Eastwoood, it couldn't be better, greetins from Spain.

Rule #1: Never draw a sword when your enemy is close enough to grab the handle.
Another thing never dry fire a firearm.
@@paulyarek a rimfire firearm. Does not harm centerfire firearms
Rule #2 Don't rape and pillage.
Right 👍😁
Rather than attempt to draw his saber, he should have endeavored to persevere.
He was like: "For my family. Go to Hell, Terrill."
me encantan las buenas películas como las de vaquero de clin iswood
jose santiago me too brother.
Always wandering. Who is cleaning up the mess? And who is paying for it?
Loved this scene
I could feel the sword as he pushed it into that body.
exelente filme, postem completo e dublado ou legendado
He knew that his death would bear the face of Josey Wales
Great scene - adios amigo
He learned that from,,........ RAWHIDE.
Ooh, I bet that made his eyes water!
just shows you once you have decided to live by the gun you cant take up the sword again and prevail
Wow, I keep saying DONT TICK CLINT OFF! John P.
That actor is lucky it wasn't Alec Baldwin with all those guns.
hahh
1860 Cavalry Saber?
Don’t mad…get even

hope that hurt, never liked that red leg.

Josey Wales: The wrath of God 😁😁😁😁😁
Scène mythique
Colt dragoon pistols were known to backfire and explode when used. I never would have carried one.

Bought one. Cold Steel 1860. Chops cabbages handily. And pumpkins. Movie prop.

No way he was going to make Josey Wales squeal.
Sure makes Frank and Jesse James look like the Two Ronnies does Josey Wales

It's okay Josie we are winning now.
To me, Eastwood in this film is how I imagined Roland in the Dark Tower novels ☺️
That’s because King precisely modelled Roland after Eastwood in this film.
Until he got hit by a van and in a morphine haze retconned Roland to be half-Clint and half-King.
Man, I wish he didn't rush those last three books.
QUIERO VERLA COMPLETA SÓLO DAN SEGMENTOS
This is my favourite revenge scene of all time.
suspenseful and poignant, love that scene
You live by the sword you die by the sword. Literally.
I watched it 6 times I think! Named my Ridgeback " Josey Wales"! And he is an outlaw too!
Taiwan needs a hero as him but not ugly politicians
sembra che nn ci sia mai nessuno in giro e invece qualcuno da accoppare lo trovano sempre tra quelle baracche deserte
Terrill was one of the worst western villians in cinema history. He deserved to be skewered.
