I used size 6 mosquito hook. The hook ratio is so bad. About 3 to 4 times the trouts shook the hook out of the mouth when I pulled them to the bank. If i go to siz 8 every time I hooked a trout the fish either swallowed deep down that I had to put the fish to sleep.
Slow Death hooks also come in size 4. I wish they still made them in size 6. They used to sell them with a leader attached but it seems they stopped making those.
Another great video! I have a question, do you have any footage of the difference between a ring eye and a bait holder being trolled behind an action disc with a trout trip? If so I would love to hear your thoughts.
Great info as always. How about a video on your set up for trolling a night crawler? Thanks
Cal, thanks for the great tips about hooks and especially how to turn a trout from a window shopper into a customer.
That was a fantastic video on hook types and their different features. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great information Cal. Thanks for this!

if you’re using a downrigger how many feet do you let out before you clip it to the downrigger clip?
