- Instructions on how to Seafoam your 2004 - 2013 Nissan Titan. To my knowledge, this will work with all 5.6L V8 models as Nissan hasn't refreshed the truck since inception in 2004. Please let me know if I am wrong on this.
If you have any questions or comments feel free to add them, I try to respond to every one.
Thanks for watching!
Fun fact, I just tried this on my 05 Armada for the first time, and did it by myself.... The truck raises its own rpms to compensate while dribbling it in. Very useful! I love this truck.
When you add it to the gas tank you clean the injectors. When you add it to the intake you clean the intake valves.
how do I add it to the intake ????

Shown in the video, or feeding into the throttle body with a spray nozzle you can buy. If you Google seafoam/spray can type it'll show instructions.
Great video..I need to try this with my 2008 Titan...looks like you are in the parking lot of a LDS church...or at least that how they look down here in FL...I know...sounds crazy...crazy thing to comment!!! Even down to the building and windows..the little storage shed off to the side...looks like one...( I was raised LDS)
Was thinking the same thing. I was thinking it looked like he was in Utah with the mountains.
Its a cleanser, breaks up sludge and old oil, the 15 minutes is a hot soak while it works its magic, then it'll smoke alot for about 5 minutes or so maybe longer, then its highly recommended to change the oil, may have to do this a couple times, improving oil flow and lubrication removal of chunks of deposits and carbon buildup in the top of heads and pistons, it does work. Don't use to much and do it in incremental doses or else the clogs could be nasty, remember to apply at 2k 2500 rms. Before oil change.
Awesome video , Doing this just showed me that I have Cracked Headers on my 06 titan lol . Now I can upgrade to Long Tube headers
Uprev.
It cleans the combustion chamber, loosens up any carbon build up on top of pistons, and exhaust ports. Its good to do it if you run cheap gas, and if you have lots of miles on the truck. It also helps lower NOX levels to help pass smog :) by loosing up carbon and freeing up the space for the explotion that happens in the Eng.
by pourin it in the brake line ????, I dont get it ?
Not a brake line, a vacuum line.
Thanks a lot for reply Andrew. My Titan is a 2013 with 34,000km on it. I just had it in for oil change and tire rotation along with free inspection. The Fuel Injection Service was one item they recommend doing, so no issues with how Truck is running. Thanks.
Hi I have a question what parts of the engine get clean with this ????
what does this do for the motor?
There were some good unanswered questions!
Shoot man I've been slacking!
Running any type of cleaner through the power booster vacuum line only cleans the top of the intake valves closest to the entry point of the line into the manifold.
Thank you for this video! I've taken a job across the country and will be driving from AZ to FL. My 04 Titan has approx 270k and runs awesome, I've been so impressed with this truck. Do you think a sea foam treatment would be ok to do on a high mileage truck and for some reason I'm thinking this thing might be due for new plugs? What do you think? Thanks again for sharing and putting this info out there!
I loved my Titan! Been missing it haha. Yeah I think this would be alright to do in higher mileage vehicles, and in fact they could probably benefit the most. If you are going to change your plugs I would recommend doing this before the change.
Gotcha... Sound great! Thank you
I have 215k on my 2904 titan. Did you have to replace the catalytic converter on it?
Why do you seafoam brake booster line? There is No mention to what it does. Im curious because I have a 2004 T
exactly what Im wondering ????
you did not tune the engine for the new exhaust system that is why it is backfiring.
Didn't know that 15 minute part. Makes sense tho. Thanks
I cut the engine off. If you keep it around 2k RPM it probably won't die when you are done adding seafoam. If it does, no worries. But I have to cut the engine myself in most instances.
"like I said it's a douche"
Informative as fuck my guy. 🙌😂😂😂
do the door handles freeze shut where u live. my 05 in Indiana is a b&*th under 20 degrees
Yes mine would 05 Nissan Titan trick is to put that Preston defrost in the keyhole never happened again
There goes the Ozone Layer!
Have you ever taken the intake manifould off prior to the seafoam application, photographed it, then put it back, applied the seafoam then removed it again to see if the brief 1/2 bottle application has any effect?
I haven't but I would love to someday. To be honest I'm not sure if running SeaFoam has an effect because it clears out gunk or because it forces the ecu to reevaluate the tune or a combination of the two. I would love to do some more thorough real analysis though.
Hey, after you added the sea foam, did you cut off the engine or did it cut off by itself?
Good video bro, did you notice an instant increase in performance/better mpgs and has it maintained that ?
Thanks
do you have leveler kit on this
what does that actually do? I know a few tricks myself but never seen anything done like that? does it just clean the intake manifold?
Awesome video. Can I ask what kind of finder you have around the wheels they make the truck look gooder
Would this clean out the catalytic converter?
I didn’t see where you disconnected the hose from
I'm sorry I have never heard of sea foaming my Titan. Why would one do this?
I know this all ready been doing this before you did a video
Want a cookie?
not very much smoke, when I seafoamed my sport bike it had clouds of smoke coming out of the exhaust as soon as I started pouring into the carbs lol
Your putting it in the brake booster line?
Yep, just allow the vacuum from the intake side to suck up the seafoam.
Hi Andrew. Thanks for this video. My nissan dealership wants to do a "Fuel Injection Service" for $189.95. Would doing this myself cover this maintenance? I'm new to mechanical work but learning. Thanks A lot.
The Dealership includes a couple other small things in a fuel injection service I believe, but most of them aren't necessary. For example, they check the fuel pump, but if your fuel pump isn't working properly you are going to notice symptoms of that. Seafoam is great for cleaning out the fuel system, it's a lot cheaper than the dealership, and you can do it yourself whenever you want to. This should cover the majority of the maintenance they include in the cost (I worked at a dealership that literally just used a seafoam like product for this maintenance like I show in the video). If you are experiencing any other issues though probably best to let a shop take care of it.
Do "sea foam" job is good. Then keep add sea foam into gas tank. Save your money, not need go to dealer to clean fuel injection. This job help you clean EGVR valve and everything need to clean inside the exhaust system.
I have a 2005nissan Titan and when you first crank it up and drive maybe it runs great, but about 15 to 20 miles later it hesitates to run . if I shut it down and wait 10-15minutes it runs great for about 5 miles and does it again.
cam sensor
there's 2 one behind the head drivers side and another on the bottom of the belt housing where the motor and transmission comes together
What exactly does this product do for the truck?
what was the point of this? we're you cleaning a clogged pcv valve? because that's what I'm trying to do and nowhere in this video did you say what this was for.
evilchevelle Yeah I assumed people would know what Seafoam was for sorry. It's more of a preventative maintenance piece. I haven't looked into it's use for cleaning a clogged valve, but I imagine it would do well for that. Like I said, I haven't looked into it though so I suggest Googling Seafoam Cleaning PCV Valve.
Why would you even try to clean a clogged PCV valve? They cost $10 each for a new one and you can replace it yourself in 2 minutes.
what does the seafoam do? what problems does it solve?
How many miles where on this rig when you did the treatment? Not much smoke out the pipe is why I ask. Maybe you didn't have the truck to operating temp before adding the sea foam. That's the heat soak phase.
Also for others seafoam makes a pressurized can with a skinny nozzle to make this easier to do, as in you leave the brake booster vacuum line on with the red nozzle inside at the same time. Less likely to drop RMP And die. This is to clean carbon build up off the top end of the motor. You can pour it into a full tank of gas for it to clean injectors and such instead. You will see a much bigger smoke show if higher mileage vehicles, and if it's been abused.
what kind of exhaust are you rocking?
Doesnt it do the same as thru the fuel tank? curious
The Nissan Titan has direct injection. The fuel is injected between the intake valve and combustion chamber. Seafoam added to the fuel tank would bypass the back surface of the intake valve.
This condition is common with many late model engine designs.
@@scottb1381 All year of titan has direct injection?
what kind of exhaust do you have on it my dad has a 2013 titan and he is looking for a exhaust kit and the one on your truck sounds amazing
Its stock and a v6 how does it sound good
Brandon Hickman titans are v8 the don't have v6 in any titan or Nissan armada
Hey i have a Nissan Armada 05 I can not understand what is the seafoam for it help the motor?
Yeah the theory behind it is that over a lot of miles the engine builds up carbon deposits which mess with it in different ways, and by running Seafoam through it clears out all those deposits and helps the engine run more smooth. Your mileage my vary but in my personal experience it does help the vehicles I have used it on.
mine seems to runs better when I wash it.
Why smoke ? Burns engine oil ?
What does it do ?
lol makes the Truck Chooch for about 2-3 minutes then makes your Brakes feel foamy, sea...
The first transmission shifts to the second, third, and fourth speed but when the car is stopped and the engine is turned on, the transmission does not return the speed unless the vehicle is turned off and turned on again, it switches perfectly. For sale Used Nissan Armada
way to much seafoam any problems now with the truck ?
Nope no problems at all. I've used around that much in every car I've owned and never had issues with it. The seafoam gets cleared out of the system pretty fast.
Same ive always used the whole can with a full tank of gas
Why do you think it's too much Seafoam? You would be wrong.
Is that the stock exhaust?
Nope it wasn't. I'm not sure what all was done with it because the exhaust was done when I got it.
.. how do you keep it at 2000 k when you buy yourself it's probably taking two people you should have least mentioned that..
If you have a painter's extension handle, place one end on accelerator other on driver's seat back and then adjust the seat back to put the right amount of pressure on gas pedal.
does this clean out the Cadillac converter ???
This doesn't clean the catalytic converter, no.
Tengo una 2007 Nissan Titan y no quiere encender ya revise los fusibles de bomba de gas y el relay
Asegurate que esta llegando combustible al motor o checa bujias y bovinas
This will also cause premature wear on ur catalytic
Who cares about you the catlyctic
I have straight pipes lol
Does your check engine light come on? I have long tubes on my 06 titan?
Not good. Those are expensive
@@ellightningrod8990 very expensive... and hard to find at least in my area for my 04 pathfinder armada. almost 3000 bucks for 2 and they had to be specially made.
Where are your vacuum lines at?
I have a bad idle and I wanted to know if I could use that vacuum line to blow smoke in it so I can figure out where the leaks at?!!.
this video should be call how to overdose your titan with seafoam
But of course! I'd rather do too much, which won't hurt anything but may waste a little seafoam, than too little, which won't do as good a job cleaning.
Hell I’ve heard of mechanics using the whole bottle.
👍
Can this be done to a diesel engine?
It can but the process will probably be different. There is some great info on SeaFoams website about it. seafoamsales.com/sea-foam-motor-treatment/how-to-use-sea-foam-motor-treatment-diesel-engines/
Why we don't just say what we gon do explain it put the phone down then comeback
this vehicle is damaged now
Wrong...
Why not just run the seafoam directly into the throttle body? Is there a reason you did it through the brake booster line?
i.e.: ua-cam.com/video/u6UeJXkzDW8/v-deo.html
Your camerawork was so poor that I only watched the first minute.
Code p0171?
Never mind I see the answer
never do this.
WHAT A JOKE .....TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR... JUST A WASTE OF TIME...
does this clean the fuel filter?
jay dorr It can yes if you put it in your fuel.
Andrew Trout ok thanks
