Wrong. It wasn’t “the bengals letting them score” it was the refs not calling the holds on the ratturds they were calling in the first half. Joe has better numbers than every QB than Lamar and Jamarr is the best WR in the league this year. They can't help the defense isn't tackling this year and can't get stops consistently
@15druck and Ravens defense is world class? Get your excuses out of here. Joe missed back to back deep balls and 3rd, and the 4th. Chase brown fumbled, Taylor britt didn't catch a ball. Ravens win, bengals lose. See ya
Alright Rich, bengals fan here, that’s alot of If’s. I mean it’s clear and obvious that the defense has not done enough. The front office has failed this team by letting crucial pieces of this defense like Jessie Bates, Larry Ogunjobi and DJ Reader walk. The defense has not been clutch this year. We give up explosives and go basically entire games without getting stops. It does not matter how well Joe Burrow plays, the only way to win is to be tied with the ball last. Trey Hendrickson may lead the league in sacks but I believe zero sacks versus Lamar. No sacks against the eagles or commanders. He’s relentless and definitely the best player on our defense but he’s not been there in the biggest moments against the best teams on our schedule. To beat great teams you have to perform like a great team yourself. Right now we are just a team with a great offense, and in the NFL, that isn’t enough.
Burrow balled out, but on two 4th downs and a 2 point conversion he was not good enough. You can't highlight how good he was without talking him missing the 3 most important throws.
Had his facemask yanked for the second time that drive on the 2-point conversion attempt, and Gesicki was held. Three missed calls on the game-deciding drive. Three is a BIG number for missed penalties on a drive of that magnitude-especially ones so obvious. Wouldn’t hurt the officials to do their job there just one time
With the three mistakes you highlighted, Burrow still has a great chance to take the lead with about 30 seconds left if the officials don’t look the other way. Heck, if Taylor Britt catches a would-be interception that hit him in the chest a couple of Ravens’ drives earlier, then Burrow trots out onto a short field in a tie game-where I believe in my BONES he takes a 35-28 lead to put the pressure back on Lamar in the closing minutes. Context matters
@@brandoncrockett9266the facemask happened after he threw it… didn’t affect the poor throw there. Gisecke all game was complaining of the not getting calls when he flops a decent amount and falls a lot. So he’s especially not gonna get it at the end of the game… so neither “flag” affected the play.
@@salromeri192 Please don’t play dumb. Forcible contact to the QB’s helmet is going to be called whether it impacts the play or not. And that was the second uncalled instance of it happening to Burrow on that drive. Bad officiating. Dean Blandino reviewed the tape of the hold on Gesicki and confirmed that the back judge looking at the play was reaching for his flag, but apparently decided against throwing it when he saw the ball being thrown elsewhere. However, he saw the penalty in a timeframe where the flag should’ve been thrown anyway. But regardless of your thoughts on the hold, the forcible contact to Burrow’s helmet is a layup call that ABSOLUTELY should have been made. Your argument that it “didn’t affect the play” means less than nothing. A late hit won’t impact a play either (as suggested by the word “late”), but it’s GOING to be called. Two missed facemask/forcible contact to the helmet penalties committed against a QB on the same game-deciding drive, AND a missed hold, is just egregious officiating. Please, just enjoy the win and stop denying the obvious
They obviously can play with the best, but this defense has got to find a way to play consistent for 4 qtrs. I think its a presnap communication issue more than anything, bc i believe the talent is there. The flashes are there, just need consistency
The Bengals have never been front runners with Joe Burrow. They always play middle of the road until the back half of the season. Thanks Rich. The only guy with good things to say about the Bengals.
.....and Rich is DEAD WRONG about them. They're a fraud team. I won't post why again. I've put it all over these comments. No killer instinct in this team when it goes their way. They just beg the other team to take it from them.
Two things to note on that 2pt play decision: Firstly, everyone is talking about how Lamar would have gotten them into FG range in time. Maybe, but here's another thing to consider. I think they said there have only been 2 successful onside kicks this year? Guess who they were both against? Might not be the strongest argument statistically, but I can guarantee the Bengals were aware of it. Secondly, the Bengals needed to go for 2 because they needed the win, and by that I mean a tie is way less beneficial to them than it would be for the Ravens. I get that a win is a win, but we're probably talking playoff seed positioning for the Ravens vs the Bengals making or missing the playoffs altogether. With Derrick Henry, late in the game, the Ravens could have potentially burned massive clock, kicked a FG, and then the Bengals would be fighting the clock to even get the tie. And if they decided to go for the TD in OT instead of the FG, what are the odds they'd have better field position than the 2pt conversion try. The pros outweighed the cons for the 2pt try. Like everyone is saying, it was just a bad play call. Similar to Seattle not handing off to Lynch in the SB. Sure, everyone would know what you're doing, but who cares if they can't stop you anyway? And I say this as a Ravens fan.
Once a team gets off to a slow start, no matter how good they are they're fighting gravity. They'll come close but not win. It can be overcome but it's uphill all the way.
They’re only allowed one more loss if they want a playoff birth…. 11-6 last year CLINCHED the #2 seed in the AFC. Also bengals made the Super Bowl being 10-7
AGAIN.....PLEASE FORGET THE BENGALS.......THEY SUCK! GOOD LORD, WHY CAN'T YOU PEOPLE QUIT BAD TEAMS? NO NEED FOR A PLAYOFF BERTH FOR A TEAM WHO CAN'T WIN ANYTHING. LET THEM GO, PLEASE!!

The Bengals can't play with a lead. They don't do the dirty work. They can't run, they can't get stops. All hallmarks of good teams. The Bengals are a bad team with a good QB. I understand not being able to quit Joe, but it's very easy to quit that team.

But it was 1 game without Tee and we still lost... usually Ja'Marr goes off when Tee is in games but he will need to carry without Tee since he wants $40M per year Bengals are 2-8 without Tee (1 win was the meaningless 2023 week 18 game when Browns sat their starters and the other win was last week against the Raiders) Bengals are 5-2 without Ja'Marr (Lost 2022 Browns Halloween game and lost 2023 Steelers game with Browning as QB)

Literally every single snap, there’s pressure on Burrow within 1.5 seconds. Meanwhile, Lamar floats around pondering life until he’s comfortable throwing. And even when the defense decides it might be interesting to put any pressure at all on Lamar, he’s literally a bar of soap and is unsackable.
Why do people keeping thinking the Bengals are going to the playoffs? It's 7 spots. 1KC 2Bills 3Ravens 4Pitts 5TX 6Chargers/Broncos 7Colts/Jets The Jets are the only team that has a losing record 3-6 compared to the Bengals and if the Jets win this weekend they will be tied with the Bengals. If they both have the same record at the end of the season then the Jets will get the final spot. Cmon man stop trying to put the Bengals in the super bowl. That ship has sailed.
Bengals play the chargers and broncos. They only have to tie their records if they beat them. Its possible. But I really want Zac Taylor and Duke Tobin fired.
@diamondrg3556 they do have a chance and they have a favorable schedule but so do the colts, Broncos, Chargers and Jets. It's going to be a stretch because outside of the Jets everybody else has a winning record. We will see. I agree...fire the HC for suuure
Pitt has yet to play any afc north games, the chiefs, commanders, and eagles…absolutely brutal. Chargers and Broncos still can’t figure out how to beat KC and will battle it out with each other. Indy doesn’t have a QB. Jets can’t get out of their own way. Cincy has an extremely favorable schedule remaining and their offense can blow out teams.
@furiousrook8939 yep I agree with that. It's going to be fun to watch these teams battle down the stretch. It might be just as competitive in the nfc too!
Don't worry. They do this with whatever team they talk about. I saw someone talking up the Miami/Rams game Monday night saying Miami was only 2 and 1/2 games back of the 7 seed. LOL too funny is what that is.
Going for two just lost them the game immediately. If that was the plan then they should have bled the clock. Going for two when you’ve left the Ravens with 0:37 secs and 2 timeouts was pointless.
I think it's better to take the touchdown when the opportunity presents. A team that tries to delay the touchdown while they melt the clock down invariably misses it altogether. That done, it's too late to burn any time off the clock. And while they did put all their eggs in one basket with that conversion, it was really their best shot at winning. Just one play with a high-octane offense with a top-notch track record. The alternative, with a safe extra point, leads to OT. All it would take is the Ravens winning the coin toss then running Jackson and/or Henry through the swiss cheese Bengals defense and Burrow wouldn't touch the ball again.
its easy if your the Bengals: build a championship defense. Patrick Mahomes didnt even throw a TD in the month of october, missing his top RB and a WR. He's 4-0. Tom Brady doesn't win 7 Super Bowls without a championship defense either. You have the QB that ever team searches for. Give him a Defense and the bengals are right there.
Two great quarterbacks with all the talent in the world, Yet They Have Only one SB appearance and no SB wins combined! NFL season is a Marathon and Winning, especially in January, is the only measuring stick that matters. Compare this to Mahomes and the Chiefs! Sorry guys you got drafted in the NFL in the wrong era!
Bad coaching and horrible defense all season, we need coaches who will hold players accountable. We also need a front office to hold the coaches accountable.
That's like the 10th team that's asked for Bill this year after most of y'all clowned on him getting fired and not getting hired. You don't deserve him. Plus he would trade Chase for assets in a heartbeat. He costs too much for how little he's impacted winning this year, and the Bengals have a lot of holes to fill that won't be possible if he's paid. Be careful what you wish for.
The bengals defense: “we had them in the first half tho ngl” As a Joe burrow and Jamar chase fantasy owner I was pleased as a bengals fan ITS ALL JOEVER!!!!
As great as those long TDs were, one play worth of rest after giving up a late 4th quarter TD isn’t enough time to think they’d be likely to stop Lamar Jackson.
It's crazy how this narrative is different when it's not Justin Herbert. The Bengals games look a lot like the chargers games use to. No matter how many points you score your defense will give up more and put you in bad spots late in games because you don't trust your defense to stop anyone.
Thanks for believing in us Rich. im losing faith every week but man the bemgaks are just different when theyre in the playoffs...if we can just get there...
I dont entirely hate going for 2 but at the same time, felt like desperation more than belief in the team. Lemar just got away with a bad pass that should have been picked on previous drive. Kick, let everyone catch their breath and hope to win a coin toss and end it with a TD, if they get the ball first, maybe showing the D you still believe in them will help find that extra gear. You have to have your ear to the ground and that never felt like a time when oh yea, they are rolling, just win it. It was more like, they are keeping up just barely let's throw the haymaker and hope.
I love the call to go for the two points, I think (especially recent) history has shown that it's the right call. However, I was a little underwhelmed at the play call. I don't like a basic drop back on that, I would have much rather seen a misdirection and a race to the opposite corner. Like a reverse or even a student body left naked bootleg right, or even one of those Andy Reid type fake QB drop back shuffle passes to the RB right up the middle. Just something more creative than a basic drop and try to connect with someone who's got 1-1 coverage. I know Joe was lighting it up, but I like the high percentage play better.
Or just put Lamar in for the bengals and have him make the conversion with ease like he did earlier in the game. It’s so crazy everyone knows Baltimore is gonna do the designed qb run to the pylons on a 2 pt conversion and they can’t stop it
At this point, I'm coming around to it just being one of "those" years. Defense has zero playmakers outside of Trey. If they had just one other decent pass rusher who could win every now and again... The defensive free agents they've brought in the past couple years have added nothing and you combine that with the lack of hits in the draft and here we are. Still think they have a shot at the playoffs, but this Sunday night is probably going to decide that.
Bengals still have too many warm bodies cashing checks on the O line. The pass rush is Trey only. Tag Tee again and get the trenches sorted next season, just get through this one healthy.
Im sorry, i was told justin herbert was mr. Hypothetical. Joe burrow just got 60 seconds of if this then that. Yeah stuff happens, maybe joe burrow just doesn’t have the “it” factor
Agree with you on the hypotheticals, but it's not Joe letting the team down. The offense has done all you can reasonably ask of them. Now its time for the defense to hold their ground when it counts.
Ja'Marr Chase was asking for $40M per year before Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb even got their contracts. Jamarr said $35M per year wasn't fair. And Ja'Marr was already refusing to practice before JJettas & CeeDee signed (Ja'Marr said he was going to wait to negotiate until both were signed). So the timelines don't make any sense So Ja'Marr was upset because he thinks his negotiations should have been whatever he wanted and exactly what he wanted... did Ja'Marr not pay attention to how Justin Jefferson didn't get what he wanted from the Vikings and didn't sign until after his 4th year
Justin Jefferson made $3M per year ($13M total in his first 4 years) and didn't accept the Vikings offer after his 3rd year. Ja'Marr made $7.75M per year $31M total). $31M ÷ 4 years = $7.75M but Bengals gave Ja'Marr $19M of that before Ja'Marr ever played 1 NFL snap. So when the Bengals give Ja'Marr money in advance then media acts like that money doesn't count across all 4 years as his average pay per year. Well then you could say Burrow is only getting $10M this season but that would be extremely misleading because Burrow has been paid $100M since last September and a total of $65M this year So what message did Chiefs make when they traded Tyreek and Sneed? And didn't extend Willie Gay?
As a Lifetime Bengals Fan…. this isn’t complicated at all! The foundation of EVERY Sports Team is their management and then their coaching. We (Bengals) had a Superbowl team …and nearly a Superbowl Champion…only three years ago! Bengals Management did NOT keep our team at that talent level! Bengals Management did NOT elevate our team beyond that level! That Bengals Team is now below that Super Bowl level due to Bengals Management letting “talent at that level” walk out the door… only to replace them with weak players. Meanwhile, back at the Ranch: the tremendous talent that remained on the Bengals (Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Hilton, Money Mac, Trey Hendrickson, etc) continue to grow, mature, and dominate, but still cannot carry the pathetic “sludge” Bengals Management has allowed to join or remain on this team(see: DJ Turner, Geno Stone, Logan Wilson, CT Britt, Von Bell, etc.) Mike Brown and Family better wake up… and very quickly! The Bengals upgraded Paycor Stadium w new facilities, and then expanded marketing, and then a home field atmosphere unmatched… all are top tier… but if your “on field product” continues to decline, it’s all for naught! My prediction: 2024-25 is the “moment of decision” for our Cincinnati Bengals! We are about to see IF Mike Brown, the Brown Family, and Katie Blackburn, truly WANT TO WIN or only MAKE MONEY! I, for one, am extremely concerned because in 2023-24 we have already seen Tee Higgins get a “peek behind the curtain”… and he did not like what he saw!
You don't already know the answer to this eh? The Brown family and putting a winner out there? You don't know the answer to this? Keep thinking about it for a while, it might come to you.
When you have the best QB and WR duo to even play together, and you're in the situation, then you are entirely hopeless as a team. Trey Hendrickson just proved how bad some LTs are, he has no move, not one, if he faces a decent twckl and he doesn't win a snap. Wath the film.
Problem is...going for two would give you the lead but it isn't worth 3 points.....if you worried about Lamar getting in FG range why would it matter if you tied or up by 1.
Bengals peaked in 2021. It's been downhill every year since. They haven't beaten a single good team this year. And they've lost to the Patriots. They aren't good.
Lol... back in the afc championship the next year. Lost on a penalty. Bengals are a bad organization carried by the best qb. Give burrow Andy reid...Steve spagnolo... and that defense and o line. He'd be undefeated too

Even his Heisman campaign, he had two of the top three wide receivers in football not to mention three others that are currently in the NFL on that same roster. The quarterbacks that they compare him to like Jackson and Allen never had that type of help in their careers, but yet have been better than he has.

I do not understand the 4 and 2 where burrow threw an ugly pass to someone else other than chase. Instead of checking it down for a quick 1st. Like wtf was he thinking
I'm with you on this one. I understood the 4th and 2 on the goal line with its medium risk + high reward, but this was as risky as they come and there was no need for it yet. Instead, the Bengals gave up great field position and the Ravens made them pay.
The Bengals are done. They may break .500 but making the playoffs. They're small market team and the NFL isn't interested in small market teams. They've been jobbed with calls in two games ---- the announcers were talking about the no calls on the final drive last night. And Cincy's defense sucks.
Burrow hasn’t beat a single winning team all season. Thrown ints in the clutch. He’s overpaid and his contract is killing the franchise. Tee Higgins, Trey, and maybe Chase are the next players to leave the team thanks to his contract
Honestly depends what your expectations are, with respect to “giving up”. Is season #57 the one the Bengals finally win something? Nope. Maybe lucky #58 will be. They’re a good team, just not good enough.

😂 my thoughts as he was talking
Gotta love ol "well if they lost the games that they won" or "won the games that they lost" non-sense 😂
He’s a Jets fan so it makes sense in his head😂
Joe has better numbers than every QB than Lamar and Jamarr is the best WR in the league this year. They can't help the defense isn't tackling this year and can't get stops consistently
@15druck and Ravens defense is world class? Get your excuses out of here. Joe missed back to back deep balls and 3rd, and the 4th. Chase brown fumbled, Taylor britt didn't catch a ball. Ravens win, bengals lose. See ya
Great even take on all of this. Refreshing!
@@brandoncrockett9266 ok bengals win then. 👍🏻 congrats Brandon.

honestly same with the ravens
They obviously can play with the best, but this defense has got to find a way to play consistent for 4 qtrs. I think its a presnap communication issue more than anything, bc i believe the talent is there. The flashes are there, just need consistency
I still believe Bengals have chance.
Two things to note on that 2pt play decision:
Firstly, everyone is talking about how Lamar would have gotten them into FG range in time.

Well said bro! Look Idgaf if we make the playoffs or not. Ravens not getting past the chiefs period 😂 Lamar going to choke like always LMAO 🤣
I always love the, "if the things that went wrong, went right....this team could easily by undefeated" arguments
If you listen closely and pay attention to what is really being said about the mvp race it’s all about the stats not what really matters like winning.
You miss spoke Burrow did NOT have an interception in the game, it got called back
He was referring to the first game when burrow threw and INT to Humphrey and it let Baltimore back in the game
Really hope bengals can get it togther and make the playoffs, they are just so fun to watch.
Why do people keeping thinking the Bengals are going to the playoffs? It's 7 spots.

2Bills
3Ravens
4Pitts
5TX
6Chargers/Broncos
7Colts/Jets
The Jets are the only team that has a losing record 3-6 compared to the Bengals and if the Jets win this weekend they will be tied with the Bengals.

Jets can’t get out of their own way.
Cincy has an extremely favorable schedule remaining and their offense can blow out teams.
@furiousrook8939 yep I agree with that. It's going to be fun to watch these teams battle down the stretch. It might be just as competitive in the nfc too!

Please for the love of football please we'd be unstoppable
That's like the 10th team that's asked for Bill this year after most of y'all clowned on him getting fired and not getting hired. You don't deserve him. Plus he would trade Chase for assets in a heartbeat. He costs too much for how little he's impacted winning this year, and the Bengals have a lot of holes to fill that won't be possible if he's paid. Be careful what you wish for.

As great as those long TDs were, one play worth of rest after giving up a late 4th quarter TD isn’t enough time to think they’d be likely to stop Lamar Jackson.
If they had a defense they would be good. How does that make them any different than any other crappy team..
If if if if if… enough with the excuses
It's crazy how this narrative is different when it's not Justin Herbert. The Bengals games look a lot like the chargers games use to. No matter how many points you score your defense will give up more and put you in bad spots late in games because you don't trust your defense to stop anyone.
Thanks for believing in us Rich. im losing faith every week but man the bemgaks are just different when theyre in the playoffs...if we can just get there...
This is when losing to the horrible patriots week 1 comes back to bite you
He was extremely open on that 2 pt. Joe never even looked his way! Smh joe why?! One of your best abilities is supposed to be your decision making
You guys are insane... with 10 secs left ok. 38 secs? No. You play for OT with the way burrow was slinging it
Or just put Lamar in for the bengals and have him make the conversion with ease like he did earlier in the game. It’s so crazy everyone knows Baltimore is gonna do the designed qb run to the pylons on a 2 pt conversion and they can’t stop it
@@pedrokoto I'm sayin'! Student body right, naked boot-leg left, and NO ONE will catch him.
Joe borrow is definitely earning his money jamar chase is killing it
Im sorry, i was told justin herbert was mr.
So the timelines don't make any sense
So Ja'Marr was upset because he thinks his negotiations should have been whatever he wanted and exactly what he wanted... did Ja'Marr not pay attention to how Justin Jefferson didn't get what he wanted from the Vikings and didn't sign until after his 4th year
They have to shore up their defense, the Bengels' D is not very good right now.
Well then you could say Burrow is only getting $10M this season but that would be extremely misleading because Burrow has been paid $100M since last September and a total of $65M this year
So what message did Chiefs make when they traded Tyreek and Sneed? And didn't extend Willie Gay?
As a Lifetime Bengals Fan…. this isn’t complicated at all!
The foundation of EVERY Sports Team is their management and then their coaching.
We (Bengals) had a Superbowl team …and nearly a Superbowl Champion…only three years ago!
Bengals Management did NOT keep our team at that talent level!
Bengals Management did NOT elevate our team beyond that level!
That Bengals Team is now below that Super Bowl level due to Bengals Management letting “talent at that level” walk out the door… only to replace them with weak players.
Meanwhile, back at the Ranch: the tremendous talent that remained on the Bengals (Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Hilton, Money Mac, Trey Hendrickson, etc) continue to grow, mature, and dominate, but still cannot carry the pathetic “sludge” Bengals Management has allowed to join or remain on this team(see: DJ Turner, Geno Stone, Logan Wilson, CT Britt,
Von Bell, etc.)
Mike Brown and Family better wake up… and very quickly!
I’m a Bengals fan. I have given up on this team and won’t have faith until Elon Musk sends Zac Taylor to Mars as a test dummy.
Love the take but if they lose on Sunday count them out of the playoffs unless things get crazy
It's like deja vu all over again. Lamar deserves to be MVP so far, but aren't we all just waiting to see if he can do it in the postseason?
I believe !
When you have the best QB and WR duo to even play together, and you're in the situation, then you are entirely hopeless as a team. Trey Hendrickson just proved how bad some LTs are, he has no move, not one, if he faces a decent twckl and he doesn't win a snap. Wath the film.
That horrible loss to the Patriots to start the season set the tone. Terrible loss.
