Neon Light Effect Photoshop Tutorial

- In today's Photoshop tutorial I'm going to show you how to create a vibrant visual effect by adding neon lights to a photo. This popular art style often incorporates simple shapes or text for the neon lights, which are illuminated in bright colours. I'll explain how to use Photoshop to draw a custom shape and give it a vibrant glow with the help of Photoshop's Layer Style options, then we'll use a clever technique to apply a colourful ambience to the original photo as if it is being illuminated by the new light source. As a finishing touch, we'll also add some smoke and particle effects to create a neat cyberpunk art piece with a futuristic vaporwave style.

Great tutorial but I got stuck after adding the second layer as stroke path is no longer an option, there is stroke subpath which envelopes the entire area. Any help?
Out of all the tutorials I've seen on adding glow, this is by far the best one. Thank you so much
so perfect and straightforward! I love that you add text for the described shortcuts and that you quickly will say "why" something is being done ex: "this will cancel out the color reflection from your shadows for a better color spectrum" brilliant!

He's great on almost every step.
I believe a beginner would be stuck between stoking the path and "free transform" steps, since he doesn't state you have to "delete" the path first, prior to "free transform" step.
A minor thing, I still give it 5 stars. :)

@@Rahul.kr. try darkening the image you're using, prior to following these steps
(and make sure you're using a similar version of PhotoShop as in this tutorial). :)
@@dragonballz0 what's the version of the photoshop in this video?
you can use a brush tool to "paint" highlights and shadows where the neon lights would appear on the subject. This is relatively high PS skill level though and even requires knowledge on how to paint.
@@Immortal_BP yeah, that's why probably no one will do that, so it wouldn't look as good :)

Chris, I learned some neat tricks in that one. The "blend if" specifically. I would love to for you to also add tips/tricks/techniques that make the workflow less destructive (sticking to smart objects, etc.). Really neat non the less.
That "blend if" feature is a gold mine. There's a channel that has a ton of tricks similar in usefulness that you should check out, the channel's called TextureLabs
