You get my like for the release on the 26" keep those eggs popping out new fish. Well done.
The river has changed much in the last 20 years. My late father and I use to fish that same spot in the spring. We would catch crappie and sauger. We very seldom caught a walleye. Now days I rarely catch a sauger at that spot but only walleye. The same is true on the other side in Ohio. Mostly walleye and few sauger.
Beautiful Walleye on the OHIO River .I enjoy the scenery just as much all the wildlife nature at it best and not a lot of people.
2 years ago, it gets tougher n tougher on the river i see y now lol noce catches ! I releaer the big 1s!
The river has been getting better and better
That was a great day of fishing haha let’s gooo

Which dam is this on the Ohio river
Nice fish man it is it ever beautiful there fishing Is my happy place glad to see everyone enjoy it!
Thank you 🙏
Slayed them! We weren't pulling numbers like that just downriver this spring but y'all definately found them!
Look at all those street bricks, wow. The city must have dumped every torn down building in town down there. what dam are you fishing? I live between lock 12 and 13. Pike Island in Yorkville Ohio across from route 2 in Warwood WV and Lock 13 which i have never fished. Well not never but 13 used to be 1/2 mile from my home but when they built the new lock 13 Below Clarington Ohio and across from New Martinsville WV they blew this one up.
Awesome! Looks like a perfect day 👍
I was so looking forward to fishing this spot this spring after watching you guys. But after the train derailment I am in doubt. Will it be too dangerous to fish the river below the spill? What a shame for I remember many good fishing days at the spot with my late father.
They definitely won’t be safe to eat anymore
Good spot down there. I have fished on down on the other side of the river from where you are there.
🤘
What dam is that if you don’t mind ? I really appreciate your help . Thank you very much sir

How do i get to this spot? I’m about 2 hours from the river and I’d love to get me some snags.
What is the West Virginia rationale for only allowing to keep 2 walleye 18 inch minimum but across the River in Ohio you can keep 6 (6 singular or comb with sauger and saugeye)? It seems like the limit should be on sauger since so few are caught nowadays. Last I got mainly walleye and very few sauger.
Looked like a good day. When was it slow? Lol Was that Crestview dam? I’ve never been up that way but we are in New Martinsville visiting family this week. I’m gonna fly the drone and try to possibly get some fishing in at the dam here. Heck yea!
That dam down there in New Martinsville is 🔥
@@5050fishing Haniball lock and dam. Lock 13. Lock 13 used to be in Shadyside. Up the river about 30 miles. They built this dam and blew the old one up. I live about 30 miles north on the Ohio side. Those are some slab walleye. I'm gonna have to come down there.
Wow, I grew up fishing the Ohio in the 60's and 70's. Couldn't eat anything. The cat wouldn't even eat them. I mercy killed many fish covered in tumors, one eye, no eyes, 3 eyed. Deformed, it was unreal. I'm so glad we have life in and on the river again. Everything is thriving. we have eagles nest all over the river now because they don't die when they eat a fish. I'm still a bit scared to eat them. I read those reports and it seems most lakes and certainly rivers are contaminated. I would love to eat them. Any thought for me on the fish consumption?
i heard of people soaking the meat in salt water to get rid of some of the mercury, i personally still wouldn’t eat out of the ohio
Hell, I drink from the river when I'm fishing it. I eat everything I catch from it and I'm still healthy, a little bit.
You kidding me? 50 years ago maybe not, but absolutely can now. The only river I'm not keen on eating fish out of in my area is the Cuyahoga and Mahoning, but I eat them from the spillways all the time. Same water that's in the lake. But I've got lakes full of bluegill and crappie, so I only keep walleye every so often. Always wanted to go down and fish the Ohio
They closed Zimmer and Beckjord.
@@OhioRiverFisherman You be lucky so far. Nearly three quarters of the detected “forever chemicals” were PFOS, one of the most common and hazardous of the thousands of forms of PFAS. Eating just one freshwater fish equalled drinking water with PFOS at 48 parts per trillion for a month, the researchers calculated.
Awesome
Fun times!
Fo sho 🤘
the key difference between when I have walleye fight or not is depth, if she deep they fight if its shallow they wet sock!
What Dam are you at there? I normally fish Bellville hydro dam on the WV side !
When about is a good time to start going
Dose the Maumee rig work for the ohio?
what dam is this where yall are catching these walleyes, cause i would sure love to make that trip onetime
Is that the new Cumberland dam??
which dam is this?
Are you in Ohio or Indiana here? What Dam is this?
My relative used to eat fish from the Ohio River.Well, that is before he became the mad hatter
What color was that saucy swimmer
I am a new subscriber and new pretty new to fishing. I was wondering why you said you did not like to eat the bigger Walleye. Trying to learn why. Do they not taste as good or it there another reason? Thank you for the great videos.
I like to let the bigger fish go because they produce more eggs
More mercury in bigger fish
I think most folks will agree that eating quality goes down after about 22" in length. though bigger fish out of a river are better eaters than the same size out of a big lake or reservoir.
What’s the daily limit for walleye, sauger, saugeye on the West Virginia side?
One per day, per person, per hour, per pound, per management.
Good stuff brother
Thank you 🙏
Cool video mate
Thank you 🙏
@@5050fishing no dramas bud
Hell yeah. Those are some nice fish. I went once and only caught one. My boy caught two but they were small. Hoping tomorrow we’ll have better luck. Are you still using those googan swimbaits
I might head back down in a week or so and yes but I’ve been catching them on jerkbaits too.
@@5050fishing Ok. Good to know. Thank you.
No info where your fishing!
Nice fish
Thank you 🙏

How i get this sport? From Louisville. I tried to get there but no way to get the spot.plzs can u address me
Many fishermen (especially in Ohio) won’t share their spots. Personally, never understood that philosophy but it’s a real thing here.
I’m a tournament crappie fisherman in Ohio and I have no problem sharing my spots. I want everyone to have fun and for the sport to grow.
Just letting you know, not many Ohio fisherman will share their spots so don’t expect and answer. LOL
It’s different in the south and up north.
Walleye it's time for a fish fry
!!???? Hard to get excited watching this.... big fish should be at least 20 pounds monster is 50 - and these are almost all bait!
Tell me, you don’t know walleye fishing without telling me you don’t know walleye fishing
damn you eat fish out of the ohio😂, was always told to never eat out of it
Lol! It’s a lot cleaner than it used to be
I’m on the other side we should colab!
Ayyyeee
There genetically different because there saugeye not walleye a saugeye is a cross between a sauger and walleye
No these are walleye lol
@@5050fishing they look like saugeye with marks on emlol
@@5050fishing state of ohio started replacing walleye with saugeye along time ago more chance of saugeye then walleye
@@5050fishing put a video up of there dorsal fins so i can see if its clear or has lttle black spots
