the fact it can do 100dB at single digits and still go all the way up to high 50s maintaining a flat response is really impressive, well done!
I was surprised by that too. All of the numbers I ran said that it would center right around 23 hz, which I would be happy with, but it's a true all purpose subwoofer. I had a few more people ask for the link to singularity, so you'll probably see some engagement on that video. Thanks again for reaching out with that track.
@@righteousbuilds3576 oh yes, when i posted it, it reached 100 views within the week it was posted if memory serves me right. i dont get any sort of compensation for that track so i shared it purely for demoing subwoofers (theres some clearance issues as the melody i used to build that track was not made by me, and i failed to track down the person that made it so i decided to keep it copyright free as the thought of making money off of someone else's work would haunt me until the end of my existance. everything else is original on that track.), as i'm a basshead myself :) cant wait to see what you'll come up with next
💯🔥
@@righteousbuilds3576 I think it would have been flat up to 75 had your crossover not rolled it off at 60. Will we ever know?
That's a beautiful enclosure. I will be there to pick it up in a few days. Thanks
You might want to bring a few friends. Lol
If you ever get the chance buddy, put that setup in a vehicle for fun. Us car audio bassheads would love to see it. 🔊🙉
Hmmmmm. I haven't gotten much into car audio, but that actually sounds fun.

Omg!! Nearly flat down to 13 hz and the slope down to 4hz is nice and linear too!! Just wow!!! 🎉 100db at 8hz!! Seriously! Plus the build quality and attention to detail!? This thing is amazing!! 🎉 just imagine 2 of these on your HT!!!! 🎉
I've got ideas rolling around in my head about how to upgrade the JTR captivators on my front soundstage. It might include something like this. :)
@@righteousbuilds3576Righteous Ideas 😜 Thank You!!
I just finished my two 21" subs two days ago and they loved your 24" demo 😉.
I still have to do my measurements and do my eq with minidsp.
That's awesome. You should send a few pics to Righteousbuilds@gmail.com. I love to see other peoples' righteous builds.
19:00 I love the laugh when you realised you created something genuinely awesome 😂
Well, subwoofers are happiness machines after all :).
Enjoy it man you have the coolest subwoofer I've ever seen I'd pay to hear it 😂
Very impressive work, can't wait to see it perform in your home system!
Yeah, in-room response on a real sound system should be absolutely insane.
The Duratex finish looks nice.
Thank you. I really like working with duratex. It always seems to turn out looking good.
that training montage and overhead lift was awesome!
Thank you. I like to keep a light and not-too-serious tone to my videos. And they're a ton of fun to make :)
That thumbnail is fire
Thank you. I have a really great thumbnail designer.
HS24 is a God tier sub! A single one did almost 150db at 16hz in the owners car. Thing is an absolute beast and I bet sounds AMAZING in that box!
Yeah, it sounds really good. There's a lot more left in it. I'll be doing more testing on it.
Hell of an intro, instant subscribe! what a goof , I love it.
Lol. Thank you. It's good to have you on board. Life is way better when you're a goof.
I've always wanted to build something like this. I am living vicariously through you! You have a new sub with me (no pun intended XD)
That's awesome. I'm glad to have you on board.
The letter from the home insurance company declares: "Drywall damage is no longer covered by this policy". 😁
I really like the design of your enclosure. In the right setting having it finished in a marble stone look might be cool.
I wish I could afford to build a pair of these.
I hope you thoroughly enjoy your new subwoofer!
Ooooohhhh. That would look so cool. Yeah, it's a little expensive, but so much fun. :)
I'm an SQL kind of guy, and for my purposes, this looks freaking fantastic :) Great job ! Looks beautiful too :)
Thank you. Yeah, it sounds really good. I was really pleased with the outcome.
Best one yet
Thank you. It will be a nice centerpiece for my living room sound system. :)
Man. I wish all subwoofer boxes were built like this!! Epic!! 🎉
Thank you. The octagonal shape makes it challenging, but it works so well. There are no 90 degree corners, so standing wave mitigation is inherent in the design.
@@righteousbuilds3576 seriously! Not only does it have the “looks” but the detail, the 45’s, the extra port bracing (which if not done right can affect internal measurements), love the cut corners, even the amp on top like that and NOT flush mount was perfection! It may not be a lot, but having the amp stick out in front of the port may help with cooling the amp? Just awesome!
I’m genuinely curious how this sub compares side by side to a Harbottle 24L2?!
Hi Mr. Righteous, the build looks great. Seeing this shows me what I need to do to extend my ports, so thank you.
If you strike just the right balance with the box volume and port length, you can have beautiful results :).
Hello friend! Congratulations on your box project, I was impressed with the details and quality you did. I also made my own boxes for my home theater. Keep doing more projects.
Thank you. I have more content coming up soon.
That's a beautiful sub and enclosure sir. Well done. I love that duratex too. I used it on my car subwoofer box. It has 2 dc audio level 6 15s. 4,500 watts rms each. They are very loud to say the least 🤣
Wow, That's definitely a Righteous Build.
Wow, great job, it looks beatiful
Thank you. I love building these things.
That beginning skit craked me up 😂👍
Thank you. I have a lot of fun with those.
You are a madman my friend! This would look so dope with a heavy gloss automotive finished ruby red! ❤
Oooohhh, That would look so cool. I've only done a few gloss finishes. But they're very rewarding if you do it carefully and do a good job of it.
SUPER NICE WORK on this build.......great angles, clean port work, and smart amp & woofer choice!
Thank you. That HS-24 driver never ceases to amaze me. And the clean power that I get from the speaker power amps never disappoints.
Very Nice work! Beautiful Subwoofer build! Only thing is those ports curved in and facing directly at the rear of the driver.
I wondered about that too. I know it's not encouraged, but numbers don't lie. This thing's got it where it counts :).
nice job. looks like a sealed curve
It's gotta be those long ports. They tend to smooth out the curve.
I'm more of a function over form guy too. I like amp access. I mostly use rack amps but have used plates and even mounted plate amps in separate enclosures to run passive subs for ease of access.
I'll likely use rack amps one day, but I like the idea of building subs that are fully self contained and ready to go.
Intros never fail me. Great build!
That driver is so big and heavy, it's an achievement just to pick it up :).
This will blow your mind figuratively and quite literally 😂😂
Very true. It'll get the job done :)
I like to triple PVC ports, can plug 1 or 2 and change the tuning. Smart man.
You are correct. The port tuning can be changed. Although its pretty low already.
Nice job on the box buddy , I love building my own PVC ports like that too
Those 6 inch pipes are actually pretty cheap from home depot.
@righteousbuilds3576 u used scheduled 30 with 3 90s to make a 4 foot 4 inch aero port for a single 10 tuned to 22hz a few months ago , I got mine at my local hardware
love the videos, keep up the good work.. Your enclosures lookin awesome, you definitely did a nice job with that bracing.. Also, the low frequency performance is quite impressive. dont think ive ever heard 7 hz at a reasonable db level. I almost never see people playing that low.. i have, but very infrequently
Thank you. I was really surprised with the nice flat curve from 13 to about 54 hz. I'll get more testing done and get some in-room response before too long.
I love it when older people also have internet humor❤
Hopefully most people have a sense of humor all of their lives.
@righteousbuilds3576 yeah but not the right kind of humor
Dude that is so sick
Thank you. It was a challenging build with those weird angles, but I was definitely rewarded for it.
Impressive pull ups 😂❤
Haha. Thank you. The speaker was really heavy. Had to get bulked up for it.
Now we need a sealed version
That's actually a really good idea. I'm looking for a way to upgrade the JTR captivators in my theater. Maybe that's it.
Yes sir lest don't so I can follow your foot print
Espectacular!!!!!!!!!! Saludos desde Argentina.
Thank you. I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. These are so much fun to build.
add some inside foam inside to make it even flatter
I didn't show it on camera, but the insides are actually lined with quite a bit of rock wool.
That is some gorgeous work SIR!!!!
Thank you. It's always a joy to build things like this.
Nice work I would love to hear it in person.
Yeah, I can't wait to hear the in-room response.
I can't wait to hear it after you play with it a little.
Yeah, once I get some in-room testing done, it should yield some interesting results.
You could've also done the zip tie trick to lower the sub onto the enclosure.
True. But I like living on the edge :)
@righteousbuilds3576 right on!
4D effect on home cinema :D
That's a cool way to think of it.
Great job and keep up working out 🏋️♀️ 😂. Is that your favorite subwoofer so far that you have built?
I forgot to add love the demo but can you at least make a little bit longer . It sounds amazing. I listen with my 4 15in and it sounds amazing my wife always makes me turn it down. Shakes the house too much . lol 😂 keep up the great job 👏
@@HPMIKE55 Maybe I'll use that track in a future video and let it run as long as possible. Maybe during a time lapse scene.
@ thanks I appreciate it! And when I sell my 4/15in subs I’ll come back to you and see if I could purchase one of the ones you make.😎👍🏼
its only the 24 that cam from jld audio and they make a 32 that blows that away !
A 32? Okay, I'm having expensive thoughts go through my head now :)
I love your channel and can't wait for the next project! Your builds are very inspiring and I'm already planning how a similar sub can replace my 12" CSS based dual PR setup. Unfortunately I did not find that driver i Europe though. Keep the videos coming 💪
Thank you. I really appreciate that. I'll bet you can at least find a 21 inch in Europe, but I'm not familiar with the market over there. I wish you the best of luck with your planned project. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm sure we can learn from each other.
lol the scale of the woofer is pretty hilarious.
Yeah, it's almost cartoonish.
i was about to comment that there is no way it would roll off that badly over 60 hertz
and then you said you had the lowpass filter on at 60
you big dummy 😂🤣 (just a reference to Williston audio fellow youtuber)
Yeah, I was slapping my forehead when I saw that. lol. Oh well. I'll get some better testing done once I get it integrated into my living room sound system,
congrats! maybe you could increase measurement precision by opening the garage door. But I am allready impressed now, 100 dB at 8 Hz !!!
That's a good idea. It would bring it closer to an anechoic environment.
As has been said, one for car audio also, butt I'd keep it outta sight unless being actually asked for a demo, lol! My dream also is to have at least one 18" subbox for my TV (I got a Rolls SX95 crossover (35 Hz to like 150, set for 90 Hz) and another identical one for my (Oddly, SUBaru) that has all the room I could want. Let's just don't play that awful car audio rebassed demo music - I think elephants hate that, too, lol. I just wonder if any dips and peaks can be mitigated by making 1 or 2 of any set of 3 ports be different lengths. Ummm, yeah, ANY Van Halen should definitely be on your songs list. Take care---
There's a guy who installed a 24 inch in his Audi. Lemme see if I can find the link. ua-cam.com/video/aLVfqgOlFUs/v-deo.html There ya go. Out of sight until you Fire it up.
@@righteousbuilds3576 Thanks! Out of sight and not out of sound. Nothing like being in a cage with a lion, I suppose! Here's an idea for anyone's Ho thea (Ho Theater, lol. A GOOD typo). Imagine just a 10-12-inch sub as a wall-mounted transducer FOR a Home Theater 'den', sealed 100% and at a VERY LOW power level, AKA 'Do not tap on the glass!'...'They hate that'. A 'room headphone' with a rubber flap X 2 (1 in each direction) in case of high peaks.
This is so beautiful. I kinda wish you said what your overall cost was 👍 Again congratulations 👏👏 on just an incredible build.
I'm actually planning on doing a cost breakdown when I do the video on the in-room testing on a real sound system with this sub :).
@righteousbuilds3576 Very cool 😎
Omg your nuts just like me😂 probably a lost brother from our dad haha subbed love it
I have a lot of brothers. You must be one of them :).
@righteousbuilds3576 I LOVE building enclosure too and I'm crazy rock on bro!!! Subbed, great stuff here!!!
Box volume and tuning? Port area? Very nice.
I was shooting for a tuning frequency of 23 hz. All the numbers that I was crunching pointed to the 23 hz tuning. But it turned out so nice and flat across the frequency range. And that was with no dsp or any EQ settings other than the fact that I accidentally left the crossover at 60 hz. Box volume is about 17 C.F. after subtracting port and driver volume. port area is about 85 Square inches.
Awesome work!!!
When this gets integrated to the mains will there be a “lack of bass 60hz to 250hz?
Always been curious how that works. I know subs typically get crossed over at 80. So is it important to have a subwoofer to put out anything above that point?
You're right, there will be a lack of bass in that range, but I'm okay with that because I'm not really a mid-bass guy. My towers will easily cover down to 40 hz. Anything below that will be a lot more powerful due to the ultra large subwoofer, but you need a ton of power to have good authority in the ultra low frequencies.
Is awesome to see that they make sa subwoofer that big and making an nice inclosure, i have a question why is the magnet small and how big is the voice coil??
The magnet is actually very large. It looks small compared to the huge 24 inch cone :). It has a 5 inch voice coil.
I need 1 of those 😆
I agree :)
Was recently banging in the garage in 15degree temps...felt like there was more spl in the lows. Reckon the denser air makes a noticeable difference?
That would be an interesting thing to test out and see if there's anything to that.
@righteousbuilds3576 could you perhaps heat the garage and run REW again?
If not I understand, in which case what does your gut tell you about my question?
Keep up the great work!
Subwoofer gigante, muito bom,eu tenho um de 12 polegadas, fica minúsculo perto desse aí 😂
Yeah, the dust cap is 12 inches. Very large subwoofer.
Nice work on this build! I like the shape of the enclosure and overall design.
I think you should have considered an outboard amplifier though or a separate amp enclosure. I would say that is probably the weak spot in your enclosure now.
Regardless, nice work and that thing will pressurize practically any room!!
True, it does create a weak spot, but With that 1 inch baltic birch that I use, it should have plenty of strength.
The port end interference is only sensitive in the half sphere zone. Your amplifier should not interfere with. btw, I suggest adding electronic grade SILICON to all capacitors and inductors on your amplifier PCB to avoid them to vibrate and desolder and blow your amp! and Finallly Add flare to teh port inside the box too! this will reduce vent turbulence noise! ( but will rise a bit the port frequency)
That's great to know about the ports. The capacitors are very secure with lots of silicone already, but it never hurts to check it out to make sure that everything is as it should be.
I need 4 of those!
That would be insane. I can imagine four of these in a home theater. WOW.
I need one!
Yes, bass is important :)
What about if you add two more passive radiators to this enclose , would it have a deeper frequency response ?
Haha. Maybe I should try it. I might be able to lower it all the way down to 2 hz.
lol look like David Lee Roth with those shades on!
Then it's mission accomplished :)
@@righteousbuilds3576I was expecting you to start twirling a microphone stand during your workout lol😂
What kind of sub is that. Looks really cool.
The enclosure is my own design. The 24 inch driver is a stereo integrity HS-24. Im using a 4,000 watt speaker power sp1-4000ht plate amp to power it.
@@righteousbuilds3576 thanks for the reply. I'm working on a class AB amplifier, I wish I could make something like you made but I don't have enough tools or knowledge to make anything like you made so I ended up buying a Sony sub and will power it up with the class AB(stk4048) amplifier I'm currently working on. 😁
Now i hate my ported 18s I built. Thanks 😅
Glad I could be of service :)
More fluff in box makes the curve flatter I think...🤔
You're correct. I didn't put it camera, but just about the entire enclosure is lined with rock wool on the inside.
11:45 but why isn't it in the middle?
It's a function over form thing. I'm going to have it tucked underneath a shelf, in a corner, and the only access that I'll have to it is through a decorative arch on the underside of the shelf. One of those decorative arches is right where the amp is placed :).
@righteousbuilds3576 , oh okay. Thanks for the answer.
It looks like a lot of fun. 😁
What plate amplifier are you using
Thats a 4,000 watt speaker power sp1-4000ht amp. You can find them at GSG audio design. You can use my discount code $righteousbuilds for anything that they have one their website. They actually have a lot of cool stuff and they're absolutely awesome to work with.
@righteousbuilds3576 thanks
Shoulda braced the top, bottom and sides.
Those large panels are gonna ring
Dont worry. I did.
You got to do the SPL test over. Why didn't you disable the crossover and see what it can really do? How come you don't use internal dampening material?
True, when I do the in-room testing on a real sound system, I'll be sure that the crossover isn't an issue. I didn't show the process of damping on camera, but if you watch close, you can see that a LOT of damping was used on the walls of the sub. You'll see it in the time lapse scene where I'm installing the driver for the final time.
@@righteousbuilds3576 all i saw was the bracing, which was done really good. I was referring to acoustic foam like pollyfill. The end product looks really good though, especially the ports.
Very nice!! Do you offer build service for this cab?
I"ve had a lot of people ask about that. Due to the complex design, it would be expensive, but I can offer build service for them. We're talking $6500 for the finished sub with amp, 24 inch driver, and a duratex finish.
@@righteousbuilds3576thanks for your reply. I’m thinking sealed versions of this cab.
Zip ties to lower it in, man. Zip ties.
Where's the excitement in that? Wouldn't you want the suspense of wondering whether you'll actually lose a finger or two? Lol.
@@righteousbuilds3576 Good point, much more drama if fingertips are endangered. I take back the suggestion :)
whoa , those biceps
i want a 24 inch subwoofer now , where can i get it in india
Thank you. I'm not familiar with the market in india, but somebody's gotta make one that can ship one over to you.
Wondering what is the pros of having such a large driver. I have a speaker that has a 13" inch that go to 117 db (the woofer goes to 117) and as low as 12Hz (the woofer is a Scan-Speak Revelator).
The larger drivers provide effortless bass. A smaller driver has to max itself out to hit low frequencies with authority. A larger driver like the one in the video doesn't even break a sweat while hitting those numbers.
Greatfull, it give's free plans for it??
I didn't draw up any formal plans for this one. I just had the vision and made it a reality.
Does this make your roof hover over your house.
It'll make the ceiling dance and the lights flicker :).
what is that koting you are using to paint that sub box and where do you get that stuff
It's called duratex. You can get it from acrytec.com. It's expensive, but worth it.
well, it seems to have come out at least halfway decent. Just kidding 😂 You got me as a new subscriber.
That's awesome. I really appreciate that. Welcome aboard.
Man you should build a party box that can beat the bass for the jbl 1000 i bet a lot of people would want to buy one for you me included
I'll have to roll that one around in my head :)
Great job, very nice sub!
What is the first bass song's name, please?
If you're talking about Mr. Righteous' theme song (the very first bass notes that you hear in the intro). It's called Blue screen of death. You can find it on the youtube audio library. If you're talking about the one that I used to get some excursion clips, here's a link to that one ua-cam.com/video/RW7Xp7noFo8/v-deo.html Lemme know if either of those is the one you're looking for.
@@righteousbuilds3576 Thank you so much!
The song is from link you shared, used to excursions. Very nice bass frequencies!
I can imagine how it sounds on this big bad boy you built. Congraulations again!
What would it cost to have that bulit
I hadn't planned for this to be a regular production model, but I've had a lot of people interested in it. I have quoted a couple of people around $7500 due to the cost of the materials, and the amount of time and care that goes into this particular design, but I think I can get the price down as low as $6500 if I'm building a few at a time. Just a heads up though, shipping would be pretty high due to the size and weight, but since no dimension is over 48 inches, it may be somewhat reasonable. I haven't check into that yet.
If the sub were passive, it would be interesting to see how a CVR-D 4302 would have performed. Unfortunately, to get the maximum potential out of the CVR would have required more power from your mains than your residential (120v) wiring could supply. If not resolved, you would be paying for wattage you couldn't use. Regardless, excellent work!
That would offer plenty of headroom. That's for sure :)
gimme the music name, i like the bass notes. also really freakin nice box bro.
ua-cam.com/video/RW7Xp7noFo8/v-deo.html There a link to it. That's the youtube upload. If you get a hold of FPSzky (the one who posted it on youtube) he can send you a high quality version.
Damn, that sounds good!
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Has this build been blessed by the pope?
Maybe I should work on that next. Haha.
16:35 what's the name of the track
That track is called singularity (bass edit). You can find it on FPSzky's channel.
DID YOU ADD RAT PROTECTION IN AIR WENTS?
Now I better check on that :). Good thing we don't have rats around here. Lol
THATS A BIG BOY
It should get the job done:)
"You know what you gotta do" Yeah boy get to it LMAO
Had to get my motivation up. Lol
You didn't show us how you got that giant speaker back out after test fitting. I'm thinking it was an unhappy experience.
It would have been too traumatic for most eyes. Haha,
can you share the song you used for sub testing so that I can compare how my sub behaves?
ua-cam.com/video/RW7Xp7noFo8/v-deo.html There ya go. That's the youtube version. If you get a hold of FPSzky, he can send you a high quality version.
One question please if my 8 inch sub 150w Fs is 45hz then what frequency i need to tune my enclosure for better bass ?
Do you want it loud, is it in a room, do you need to hear the lows?
@subdynoman for car , not too lows but can play all type of songs with with better bass quality than basstube.
@bullinochgaming6912 for your situation 300 watt max, build a 4th order. Tune the sealed side to 45 Fs hz and you can tune front side to as low as you want to go, the lower you go the more you will sacrifice SPL. If you tune to 45 on front side it will be max SPL @ 45 for low power ( efficient ).
@@subdynoman my sub's EBP is 63 should I go for ported tuned to 45 with 0.65 cubic feet box?
@bullinochgaming6912 ebp isn't a major value in what you can go with. It does suggest your sub is more suited for a sealed box. How much room do you have to work with, the ability you have in constructing an enclosure, power availability, power handling, motor force, and cabin space are all going to weigh in before ebp. A simple ported box tuned to Fs will be easiest. I still suggest a 4th order style box. You would need to do many calculations on the sub to get the correct enclosure size either way.
What did you use to paint it?
Nevermind, i guess im deaf
No worries. You can get duratex from acrytech.com.
19:07 yeah FR is very nice, but what this shows me is that no matter how big the subwoofer, pushing the subsonic frequencies is HARD like VERY HARD and you should rather invest in buttkicker than more expensive subwoofer
That would definitely be cheaper and easier. But I like to feel the room pressurize. There's nothing like it. :)
I think your discount code isn’t working. There’s a pair of mini Marty 18’s on marketplace near me. Would like new 21’s but only if the discount code works
I'll look into this for you.
@ thank you. It might be that the discount isn’t applied until the invoice email is sent. I didn’t actually submit the order
I just got word from GSG audio design. The discount code is fixed and working again. Go ahead and give it a try and let me know if there are any issues. You can also call them and mention my channel and they'll get you taken care of if there are any issues that way again. They are awesome to work with.
What does something like this cost?? Roughly
I hadn't thought about doing this as a production model, but it turned out to have such a nice flat curve, and I've had such good interest that I just might consider building these for people. I've quoted a couple of people $7500 due to cost of materials and the time and care that goes into this particular design, but if I'm doing several of them, I can get the cost down closer to $6500 each. Just realize that shipping might be brutal for something as heavy as this big boy. I haven't check into that yet.
Nice muscles! :)
Nice Everything :). That's my wife by the way. Lol.
Who makes this woofer? I'm not familiar with the logo but I have seen some of the rim shape basket design.
That's a stereo integrity HS-24. Its the same basket as sundown audio's discontinued 24 inch driver.
Dam that is vary sweeeet
Thank you. I love building these things :)
