To be honest, i had to search for the translation at goolge... :-))) It´s a funny name, but i don´t know exactly why this point is called that way, i can only guess, try to think in pictures now :-) When a dog doesn´t obey you grab a shock of hair on it´s neck, which will be the "hundschopf", maybe the racetrack grabs the ski-racer that way at this point trying to get his full attention which would be also needed there... :-))) Another possibility might be hidden in the track itself, look in your video at 6:50... There is the track, which would be the neck of the dog, on the left is it´s head and the back to the right...!? Kind Regards from Carinthia

I agree, that´s a very special point, and even tough the famous "Streif" in Kitzbühel is only 200km from my home, for me the wengen race is the most beautiful and exciting race in the world cup!! The hundschopf is a very spectacular point where the ski racers jump through this narrow part of the track next to the rocks, not seeing them before the jump, so i have to admit´that besides the "hausbergkante" (house-mountain-ridge) of the streif this is my favourite part of the worldcup too! ;-) Cheers

Do you have a chance to change the title? "Hundschopf" would be the correct spelling as Mainswitch55 has already stated. (I'm a Swiss German speaker.)

It basically means:
Hund = Dog
Schopf = Tuft or Shock of hair
