Nice video thanks. I use a Flymount clamp for the GoPro, it works great.

Cheers! I've got a flymount too, I'm a big fan. Do you put your flymount on the back of the boom or on the mast?

@@WhiteSliceMedia on top of the mast and at the front of the boom. Tried back of the boom once but didn’t look so good. I’ll try your method next time out.

My favourite mount is the harness mount by k4 fins, although it is a bet annoying when put on the water!

That mount gives some really cool angles! I'd like to try it, especially if I got a 360 camera. I bet it's annoying like you say though, does it ever get in the way?

    • @IvanWindsurfing

@@WhiteSliceMedia it only gets in the way water starting but it wobbles whenever you pump and pulls on the back of the harness. Worth it for the sick shots though!

am up the bay at the Odeon, was sitting here thinking of sticking my insta360 on my harness mount today when i saw this vid. never used it before no idea how it will come out. see you on the water ... if the wind makes it down the mountain :-)

insta 360 on the harness mount is a super strong angle! I wish I had one haha

You use the safety line on the clamp, but I think the most critical part is the connection to the go pro that could brake. So why don't you attach the actual go pro onto the boom by a line?
edit: Tried out the clamp today. I wonder how you got this in the middle of the clew, on my available sails I could only put it to the side of it because of the connections to the sail in the middle.

I agree with you, it is best to attach the leash directly to the GoPro. I don't do it when I am using that orange floaty and mouth mount - I often take the GoPro off and put it somewhere else. When I go wave sailing I have a plastic case for the GoPro and I attach the leash directly to that, much safer.
I am able to do this on both my booms, as they have a slim back end. I have tried on some other booms (Severne for example) and it doesn't fit so well sadly!

But will the clamp fit on my severne boom?

HI man. Does your Jaws corrode?
Just bought similar replica. After first 30 min in the water the spring inside is full of rust.

Yeah I have 2 of these clamps and they both rust, even when I covered it in WD40 before it even touched the water. It doesn't seem to affect the spring although it looks rubbish

That's strange - I have my GoPro locked to landscape mode when I do this

@@WhiteSliceMedia and it is mounted upside-down? I was able to rotate it in the gopro app. Will have to play with it again, but it is indeed the best angle! Thank you!

I've discovered that with my hero 10, with the orientation lock on it will play upside-down if that is the camera position when recording. With the lock off it will play in the camera position when you started recording in, therefore, with the camera in the case upside-down hanging below the clew I'll start the recording with the camera in that position and orientation is correct when downloaded.

This clamp is really not solid at all, I broke mine when unpacking! And your fixation is not good for waveriding, it’s not strong enough, the clamp is easy to remove. This system is too light.

I agree this mount is best suited for flat water riding where it won't come into contact with the floor or any aggressive waves. I am amazed you managed to break it while unpacking, my is definitely not that flimsy. It grips pretty tight on the end of the boom if your boom is the right shape for it. For waveriding I sometimes have trouble if its very shallow as hitting it on the floor can definitely break it
