    The way I remember Atropine is because it rhymes with Trampoline, because Atropine helps your HR "jump high".

      Jeff Golden I remember them as Atrop”IN”e (“IN” = Increase HR) and A”DE”nosine (“DE” = Decrease HR)

      Only if it’s a response from the Vegas nerve . If it’s anything else, sadly atropine won’t work:( but that’s a great way to remember it!!!

    LOL “idk how to say bye” well great job, I’m a new RN in the ICU and you answered some questions I feel dumb asking at work. Taking ACLS in a week and hopefully that will clear some things up. Thanks for the video

      My pleasure! And I hope you never feel dumb asking those questions at work. Everyone asked them, we’ve all embarrassed ourselves and in a couple of years you’ll be the one answering them. Best of luck!

    Awesome video!! I love the explanations. Nice even tone to his voice. Not the annoying high pitched voices I’ve heard in other people’s videos. Plus I love how he explains things thoroughly at a competent level so it’s obvious he’s experienced unlike some of the other videos I’ve watched but he explains in a way that a seasoned professional can value but even a new grad can understand. This is a very enjoyable video audio and visually in all ways. Including his adorable Drake song explanation. And I’m a Pantera Sepultura fan lol but even I enjoyed the Drake part. If you don’t know Pantera and Sepultura, please briefly look them up so you can contrast the difference to see what I mean lol. Wow! I’m so impressed! I have 8 years ICU experience and I found value in this video. Thanks for taking the time to record and post this.

    I need to say that the explanation was very clear. However, if it is VFib, we don't use atropine and adenosine, do we? so I was expecting to hear more about lidocaine and amiodarone during Code Blue.

    Now I’m not going to forget that song😀. So so true with folks just amped up and full of adrenaline in a code; That alone can be chaotic. I believe practicing roles in codes should be daily incorporated on critical care units. Thanks for a quick and useful snapshot of Code 💙

    Thank you. I am a new nurse resident in the ICU. I'm so nervous. I try really hard to ensure i monitor my patient's rhythm to catch something before a code happens. But I know codes are at times inevitable. Thank you again.

    • @EPBF1
      @EPBF1 4 роки тому +3

      That's exactly how u avoid a code by being proactive and anticipating problems Looks for your H and T before a code happens So look for:Hypovolemia, Hypoxia, Hypokalemia, Hyperkalemia, Hypothermia, or Tension Pneumothorax, Cardiac Tamponade, Toxins, Pulmonary Thrombosis, Cardiac Thrombosis etc if your looking up your labs keeping them optimal, looking up what's been happening recenting with pt and of course watch for those subtle AMS changes and Any rhythm, vital sign changes you will catch your emergencies early talking to your patient & knowing them will help u notice any changes...don't put all your trust in pulse ox trust what you see in accessing your pt ...your assessment is often better then putting your trust in pulse ox.. good look in your career love working with nurses whose main critical thinking is prevention and not remedy ...🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏👍👍

    A good point to add on to any code blue video is you need to respect all of your coworkers. You will be in codes with people who are stronger or weaker than you in certain areas... and it does not give you the right to belittle, disrespect, yell, or cause distress in others. I’ve seen Bullies and people with attitudes put people down during codes and it is NOT okay. If you want to act like a little B*tch during a code, get out of the room. Your negativity is only creating a toxic environment that can potentially increase the chances of the patient not surviving...

    I go through horrible things as an EMT in my country...and i care so much about saving lives.i wish i was an ER nurse.because when i transfered my pt. On the ER...he/she doesnt have that vital medical attention on a code blue...sometimes i wish can stay.because of the lazy arrogant nurses who ignores my pt...and to those people i have lost...may you rest in peace...and im sorry im not nurse or a doctor.im just a guy who tries his best to reverse your death...

      Asystole and PEA cannot be shocked because there is no electrical activity of the heart. Just think of it as the hearts pacemaker having absolutely no function therefore there is nothing to shock. If a patient is in asystole or PEA high quality CPR what they need
