Are you incorporating back-to-back long runs in your training? If not, you should! Here’s why all the ultra running legends are doing them.

nice video...what do you think about doing half distance and elevation in cut off time of race as preparation for same race? example; im training for 164 kilometers and 7250 meters+ race with 46 hours cut off and im not a talented runner so could i train (few times) 82km/3625+ inside 46 hours? does that "guarantee" me a finish in race?

You should check out my 100 mile training plan I put out “100 Mile Training Plan | How to Train Like Kilian Jornet”. The training tops out at a 100 mile week with 35 mile back-to-back long run. I think this should get you that finish!

35miles back to back? This seems really excessive unless you are trying to get top 10...but just to finish, this seems way overboard for the average 100mile runner.

That’s for the more advanced plan. For the beginner plan it’s 25 mile back-to-back long runs. And if you think about it, a lot of training plans call for a 100k race in the build up for a 100 mile race so it’s pretty much the same but you get to rest halfway through.

@@runningforviewsmakes sense, ya I did 50mile lead-up race for last 100 so that seems more doable and that's usually why I sign up for races -- to keep me from having to do long training runs :)

@@coachb530 yeah, I prefer long runs to races. I’m actually coming out with a video about that tomorrow haha.
