Very cool my man. Love this species. And I dig the shirt..half the time I tune in just to see what band t you are wearing. The Cure shirt has been my favorite so far....you are my kind of people Alex. Very informative video...thanks for sharring!
@Devin Dakota thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great video. Ive just discovered your videos and am really enjoying them. Indonesia is actually a collection of over 17000 islands, the worlds largest island country, and an amazing place!
Aren't they they cutest critters?? That spider was saying; hey, what's this hoooomans problem?? Spidey can't even hidey without being poked and prodded, lol. Great job Alex. Tyfs God bless you
Another great video, Alex! Haha, I have 8 Old World T's and they are all chill. I have only ever gotten a threat pose from my C. Versicolor and my Grammostola Pulchripes but never from my Old worlds. I love the Hati Hati and plan to get another eventually. Love your shirt as well!
“Indonesia isnt actually that small, it stretches from east to west, about the same distance from london to tehran iirc. But anyway it comes from Sumatra. Thanks for highlighting this gorgeous species from my home country. Amazing video!
Insightful and informative video! im thankful for this content! Im planning on adopting one but I still making consideration between this one and the Bornean Neon Blue Leg tbh I love this one's appearance and symbolic naming it got 😆 but Im still doubting myself whether I could properly take care of one, since this is a rather advanced level species for keepers, and I've only experienced with Chaco Golden Knee so far. Also, this might be somewhat helpful but just want to help out the "hati hati" name, so the word "Hati" alone means "Heart" while when used as an expression with repeated words it "Hati - hati" means careful, be aware or be cautious. These guys got literal "Caution" in their name which is very fierce and cool 😆😆
I love my hati hati. She's a grown on sling, close to juvey I think but not quite. I feel like they have to be seen in person, pics & videos dont do them justice. Mine is still so fluffy. I named her Haze, like the song Purple Haze xx
I love this species. I don't have 1 😭. I have a sp. Sumatran Tiger and also have a tattoo covering my upper shoulder of the Sumatran Tiger 😁. The entire genus of Cyrio (I can't spell it 🤣) is pretty amazing. Great video and great info, as always 👍
Hello. I have a Hati Hati sling. I was wondering where you got your plastic containers that have the purple top? And what size are they? Thank you for all your videos. I continue to watch and learn from you showing your experience. Keep up the great work.
Hehe. I call my Hati hati a black speck of mold, well that "mold spore" has grown a lot since I bought her 5 months ago as a teeny tiny sling. Last night I got to see her out of her burrow for the 1st time since she molted 2 weeks ago and she is looking like a real tarantula now. (I say she in hopes it makes me lucky that it ends up being a female). The Hati hati is my 1st olde world tarantula and mine has never been aggressive, it simply tries to hide like yours did. I hope it stays that way haha. They are truly some gorgeous T's!
Indonesia is a small island?? might want to check a map lol, Indonesia is a country spread out over thousands and thousands of islands, including Java, Sumatra, most of Borneo, half of New Guinea, Sulawesi and innumerable smaller ones. its a big place.
Definately underated species were I live, currently have a few species of earth tiger and they are Definately my favorite arboreals of all of them!!! Thank for posting!! Subbed ;)
H berr it’s been my experience that as a sling and juvenile most of the time I don’t see it. On some occasions I will see it out but they are very skittish and will hide at the slightest provocation. I’m hoping that as adults they might be a little less skittish and venture out more but so far that has not been my experience. 😕
@@TarantulaHaven cool will Def ask about it in the future. Currently I'm interested in getting one. Reptile shows canceled in my area for a while. How are you getting your T's?
H berr right now I recently bought a couple from a vendor I know who lives locally. A friend of mine offered to pick them up from her and we met at a reptile shop that was mutually close to us because we both had to buy feeders. It was somewhat of an awkward exchange because we were maintaining social distancing and couldn’t sit down and have a drink or a meal together. There are still vendors who sell online as well. In fact they are really focusing on that route due to the closing of public gatherings.
Just reaching out, has this spider come out on the last few days? Still trying to reach out to local breeders to see if there's any availability of this spider. Such a shame no reptile show until July... And that's of things get better in New York =(
@@TarantulaHaven hey wanted to give update, I went ahead and bought not one but three Hatis lol. Slings though so they will take time to grow. Hopefully one of them is a female!
yay Hati Hati Im not super into Asian tarantuals but Hati Hatis are really nice mine is one of the most feratious spiders I have it always wants to eat if it refuses a food I know for sure its in premoult but hmm yep its weird how theyre supposed to be arboreal but spend all their time underground. I think i saw in a video or read somewhere that Hati Hati means be careful or watch out

"this is not a docile species"
Continues to poke it with a stick and a brush for 3 minutes and no shit where given by the T xD

That was one of the smoothest rehousings of this species I've ever seen

Thank you. I picked up those containers at the Dollar Tree. I think they are 1 quart containers.
“Moist” 🤣 can’t wait for an update on their enclosures and growth. Cool video!
pretty calm for an Old World. did it molt recently? I know when they molt they're kinda lethargic afterwards.
Awesome video, I wish I had the patience for these beautiful creatures. So sorry you lost your footage :(
awesome spider

Love the vid Mr G keep up the good work and I miss y'all so much much. Being a big kid now sucks lol
How it just bunched up in the corner and they’re so chill, for right now at least lol
very smart using soda bottle
This species is my second tarantula and I'm terrified of it tbh
Nice video. They where pretty chill! I have had some Cyriopagopus sp. All of them where pretty nasty in temperament!
This species is on my radar, I love the look of this aboreal.
Nice rehouse mine was super calm as well when I rehoused it a few weeks back, wasn't as scary as a lividus
They’re so cute!!!

Why do u guys keep them is such small containers?
As far as I’m aware they were renamed a few months back to Ornithoctoninae sp Hati Hati. But I’m sure it’ll change again soon and get a proper family.
They FROM indonesia sumatra and kalimantan, tropis ZONE.. Not hottie but hati hati(awas,becareful)..in irian jaya papua they collor is purple..
I must be color blind.
So much for "Purple Earth tiger".
How bout "Brown Earth tiger"?
Unless the purple comes out around 3-4yrs

I'm getting myself one next month
do you know the year of first found of hati hati
She´s very chillt for an OW. Nice looking T, but I like visible T´s in my small collection. Nevertheless Asian T´s are awesome!
Quick question r u in the u.s new to ur channel but was wondering if u breed i have a male hati hati n don't want it to go to waste let me kno

He is from the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia

I thought they were super defensive?
Bro ur very lucky..mine r crazy n i hate wen they play dead..lol i have 5..
I have one about the same size maybe we could get them together for breeding sometimes if they are the correct sexes. Do you know the sex of yours?
Sherry Bailey I don’t know their sexes yet and they’re still very young. But yeah when the time is right I think that would be great. 🤓👍🏼
@@TarantulaHaven next molt hopfully i can tell what i have. Ill let you know

I just got this as a Freebie, i do not know anything about this specie.
In my experience they dont grow anywhere near to to 7 inches. Nice video tho
I have read that they can get that big but I am curious as the Hati hati is my 1st old world, what has your experience been?
@@rizzydawkins6361 They hide a lot, and are very shy.
@@rizzydawkins6361 Defensiveness may vary, mine are like the ones in the video.
They max out at maybe 6in. I have breed this species a few times.
