Ain't that the truth. Only other experienced musicians truly realize just how complicated and intricate this song is, and how daring it is to try to cover it. I've listened to just about everything LLB has done, most of it countless times, and I'm just as amazed today as I was the day I listened to them for the first time, at just how good they are at what they do. It's just astonishing.
I have never seen or heard anyone cover this song to that level of detail. When I listen, I have this smile ...I’m smiling because of your success and talent at pulling off this artist’s work. Elegantly.
Many, including your truly, had no idea how talented Steely Dan was when growing up. The only thing better than this tune is how well you all played it..... thanks!!
I've never actually seen someone play that guitar solo and I had a genuine moment of musical ecstacy - involuntary smile and a flood of euphoria. Thanks for that 😁
He was close to nailing that solo. It actually starts with the pre bend. It doesn’t slide like that. There were few things that were wrong but it was very good. This guy however nailed Kid Charlemagne and that is very impressive. That solo is much harder than Peg.
I dunno. I've been around the block a number of time; and, there is no comparison between the LLB and their competitors as far as professionalism. presentation, and remarkable likeness to the studio versions of many tunes. I keep coming back here; because it's done right.
Totally amazing how everybody plays and sings their parts so accurately! That little bit of whiskey tenor adds a new dimension. Around 3:00 it really takes off!
Amazing LLB again! Your attention to detail is unbelievable. Thank you for keeping the music that we grew up with alive as today’s music doesn’t even come close! Wow again!!
This is how many professional musicians it takes to pull off what Steely Dan overdubbed in the studio. They made themselves unable to play live in the beginning, same with Boston, still both great music. Excellent job 👍
I just heard about you guys from Red Eye radio that runs overnight during the week, Gary McNamara gave you guys a huge thumbs up👍 I got to say I completely agree with him, great job by all of you.
I've been listening all day while im doing my chores. This is awesome! A better play list then anything on my UA-cam list. You all are very talented and dedicated.I absolutely love it. There is nothing you don't try.
Wow that's great !!! So much energy !!! Love those Brass !!! Love all the camera shots has they make the viewer understand whats going on, lead rythm, backs etc... Great !!! 😁
Steely Dan is my favourite band. Thank you LLB for honouring them with such perfection. I think I.G.Y by Donald Fagan would be right up your ally as well. Keep up the perfection; I’m hooked.
Admittedly, I’ve never heard this song or anything by Steely Dan. However… After watching the video the other day with your keyboard player saying he finally had to give up on the sheet music and just learn every note by ear, I said I have to check that out. I am pleasantly surprised! This stuff is funky, jazzy, cosmic, and bluesy all wrapped up in a nice 70’s style R&B type song. And I was born in the 70s and I’ve always loved 70s R&B. Killer clean lead guitars at the end of this as well, and the drums are awesome because it’s like funky style drums, which when I get behind a drum kit that’s how I play, Off time stuff, different time signatures etc. last but definitely not least I have to point out this lead vocalist, like I said I’ve never heard this song or anything by Steely Dan and that wasn’t by choice…growing up with a bunch of brothers I basically listened to everything they listened to, so two bands I really didn’t listen to growing up were Steely Dan and Iron Maiden, but this lead vocalist between the killer tone, little bit of raspiness…and the unique range I thought it was absolutely awesome so I’m gonna listen to some more Steely Dan later on lunch. I’ve got to get my quick morning fix of a Def Leppard tune and then a heart tune by LLB before I head into work. Thank you guys! 🙏
Steely Dan…..who else could have produced songs with elements of a ballad, pure rock and roll, raw jazz, and timeless melodies? As always you guys nailed it!
This is without a doubt one of my favourite songs in the entire Steely Dan catalog. But to hear you guys playing it this perfectly is on a another level!! Its 01.:30 AM and I am ending this Saturday with your version. Kudos to everyone of you for the reproduction! Thank ypu Lexington Lab Band....you have a huge fan in India!!
This is an example how good musicians taste. Today music and interpret cannot ever reach your shoes guys. My ears having real food by you. Well blended with such a precision and easy flow like when you drive limousine
This song is special to me. Steely Dan isn't easy for sure, but everyone was super tight on this! Love the backing vocals and horns and Michael aced the bass!
So, been looking into the Lexington Lab Band catalog and I gotta say these guys certainly don't shy away from some pretty complex stuff. This is a good example. Lots of moving parts. Well done.
To the untrained ear, this piece sounds like it would be an easy cover for a band. Any one could do it and do it well... Right? Wrong! The dynamics, the timing the tempo... ! Every damn thing about this piece is deceptive and difficult as hell for a musician to do well in a band. These guys did it magnificently!
Remember reading an article mentioning that to play or be a musician for Steely Dan, you have to be a complete monster master technical innovator musician. You all are in a massive sense. Outstanding.
I just watched Austin's Top 11, and I had to leave this comment (I'm laughing right now). When you asked him to tell what year he was born the exact words that popped out of my mouth were: "Oh my Lord!" LOL! But you're not exactly an old man either, Vandee. I'm speaking as someone born in 1961. Austin is so talented, and it was a delight to listen to the conversation. Love you guys!
I absolutely love how everyone is digging such a classic groove! I don't know how many takes this took to nail but if it was a lot, it does not show at all. Everyone seems fresh, engaged and in the moment.
Listening to you guys is so enjoyable. Another great song love Steely Dan. I’m a musician too since I’m 9 years old drummer. Lot of years ago. You can tell how your hearts are into the music you play.
What a great version! Love the bass lick and the back up singers. The only thing missing was Michael McDonald's back up singing. Really stellar. Love you all for bringing so much joy into the world.
HOT damn that telecaster!!!!
I regret that I have but one like to give.
WHAT.
Who even has the stones to TRY this, let alone pull it off flawlessly?!
why, LLB, of course...
And apparently LIVE fergunnissakes.
I know.... pretty damned amazing
Covering one of the best studio bands in the world. Perfectly! Tremendous talent and hard work so evident!
WOW, that was tight, simply magnificent! Everyone brought their A game, and then some, on this cover. 💪
I have never seen or heard anyone cover this song to that level of detail. When I listen, I have this smile ...I’m smiling because of your success and talent at pulling off this artist’s work. Elegantly.
Thanks for the compliment!
echo that~!
Steely Dan known as one of the great studio bands has to be proud of these excellent renditions by LLB! Great job!👍🏻
Very popular Steely Dan song • wow !!! Fab !!
Props to all the singers and musicians!! But the guy who did the engineering and mixing deserves some recognition as well!!
Many thanks, it's nice when people appreciate all of the production elements of what we do!
The drums are mixed perfectly. Kudos to all those that created and managed the electrons.
@@LexingtonLabBand Can't say enough about the whole production from A-Z. OUTSTANDING. You all need to be out on tour.
Excellent. And props to the sound engineer
@@christopherbullock2644 I especially like the snare sound - great impact without annoying the overall sound impression.
It takes balls to attempt this. Very nicely done. Matched the best studio cats money could buy note for note.
Mm
The Tone Doctor really nailed that Jay Graydon solo...no small task! Love this cover
Please, please, please, extend the video another 30 seconds so we can witness the joy on their faces, for really nailing it!
Another winner.
I swear I'm becoming an LLB junkie. I just can't get enough of this stuff. Superb as always.
Me, too!
WOAH! Steely Dan Too!!👌
Big smile on my face! Thanks LLB!
Phenomenal- goose bumps!!! Walter Becker would be proud-RIP
Many, including your truly, had no idea how talented Steely Dan was when growing up. The only thing better than this tune is how well you all played it..... thanks!!
Great version of a fantastic Steely Dan song! Kudos to all involved!
Backup singers are perfect. This one has to be hard to do. It came out fantastic. Fun to watch them perform.
LOL...Try singing the lead melody.....
Luv Steely Dan
Best Peg cover ever. Wow.
Man, I love listening to your sound! They must grow musicians differently in Lexington...
Tom Jones...awessome. .👍👏👏...Jessica, Amanda & Liz..❤💕💓
Jay Graydon solo is the best ever and I always crank it up 45 year later! Great job to everyone.
I've never actually seen someone play that guitar solo and I had a genuine moment of musical ecstacy - involuntary smile and a flood of euphoria. Thanks for that 😁

shed a tear!
Do a search for Jay Graydon talking about his part in Peg, and watch him perform it!
Spot on!!!!
Can you say PERFECTION.....I can....Another standing ovation...

Bass was incredible on this particular number. Really captured the feel of the song. Drums were really poppin' as well.
Bass is solid without dominating.
Wow, amazing cover. So many good musicians, being a guitar player I must say great job on that guitar Solo.
Damn cool cover of a Steely Dan classic. Thanks for sharing
FANTASTIC JOB OF THE STEELY DAN TRACKS! AMAZING
As good as from Steely Dan, respect.
Great rendition of a Steely Dan classic! Remember, Peg, it will come back to you!
Awesome..thanks to each and everyone of you.. Brilliant..Spot on!!!!++
Totally amazing how everybody plays and sings their parts so accurately! That little bit of whiskey tenor adds a new dimension. Around 3:00 it really takes off!
Brilliant. The drumming is absolute perfection.
Amazing LLB again! Your attention to detail is unbelievable. Thank you for keeping the music that we grew up with alive as today’s music doesn’t even come close! Wow again!!

love your drummer - so great! And all rest of the band and singers- such a challenge to do Steely Dan
Really great cover of a great Dan song, extra props to the bass and the drummer
Beyond perfection. No words in the english language to qualify this level of accomplishment!
Steely Dan is my favourite band. Thank you LLB for honouring them with such perfection. I think I.G.Y by Donald Fagan would be right up your ally as well. Keep up the perfection; I’m hooked.

Purdie Shuffle... Nice work!
You folks must have to practice Steely Dan a LOT. Nailed it again.
Your Steely Dan covers are exceptionally pure.
I listen to this rendition and one word comes to mind; TIGHT! Well done!
Tight! You all are amazing. Lead singer has a touch of David Clayton Thomas!
Just discovered the LLB and am shocked they don’t have more views! They are great at all their covers!
The best cover band on YT.... kudos guys
Easily!
Great job by all, and a big shout-out to the guitar player.

Lead Guitarist.....AWESOME
Just like gold, the deeper you dig the more you find. Fabulous performance all around!

My favorite Steely Dan song! You all dig a bang up job! Thanks

Hey Mike: Now that's a bass groove! You must love playing it!
Listening to you guys is so enjoyable. Another great song love Steely Dan. I’m a musician too since I’m 9 years old drummer. Lot of years ago. You can tell how your hearts are into the music you play.
Sweet!!!
Another well executed classic SD tune. Great job! So hard to find players dedicated to learning the RIGHT parts on these. Thank you all.
Wow! Nailed those harmonies! Fantastic!
AWESOME!
Best cover band in the world! Crisp, tight and clean.
What a great version! Love the bass lick and the back up singers. The only thing missing was Michael McDonald's back up singing. Really stellar. Love you all for bringing so much joy into the world.
Respect. Went through a lot of bands trying to cover this. This is really good 💪🏼🔥
Awesome stuff! Y’all do Steely Dan just as sweet as everything else I’ve heard so far... I’m getting addicted! 😀
As a cover/tribute, I don’t think this will ever be bettered.
Freaking awesome.
I hope everyone you guy's showcase are still in music, because you are all soo talented. Love you all, and best wishes!
You all captured the thru groove of this tune, as with all of your SD covers. Mad props!
